Zinnia stepped into the stadium with her head held high. It felt good to be back. She'd allowed herself to fall out of practice; it was not her fault entirely... First, hiding from Team Rocket, then discovering how much she enjoyed traveling far from the city, and then becoming absorbed in her friendship with Lenore... But, at last, she was ready to get back into the swing of things. And, best of all, she'd now be battling with her best friend.
"Ready to stretch your wings, Zyk?" Zin asked the crobat that was perched on the rails of the podium beside her.
"Cro!" Zyk shrieked, flinging himself into the air. His blood pumped hot in his veins; he'd been itching for a good fight for so long, and at last it was here. He'd finally evolved, he was finally strong-- but he had to be stronger! For Zinnia!

On the opposite side of the field, Lenore entered with a soft smile. Mephistopheles loomed behind her, but he wasn't the one battling today. Reaching into her pocket, she pulled out Urabrask's pokeball and sent out the Shedinja.
This would be Lenore's first pokemon battle in a long time, so she felt a little bit of excitement. She wondered whether that was because she was fighting, or more because of who she was fighting.
Lenore cast a glance across the field at Zin before turning her attention to the shedinja. "Alright, Ura, let's show them what you've got."
For his part, the shedinja merely continued to float wordlessly.

"All right, Zyk, start with Wing Attack!" Zin commanded with an irrepressible grin.
Zyk soared high up to the ceiling of the stadium, fell backward in a loop, and recovered easily-- clearly showing off his dexterity with four wings. He folded them and dove toward his opponent, snapping the wings open again at the last moment and giving a powerful thrust that sent him backwards and a strong gust of wind toward the living exoskeleton.

The wind battered the shedinja, but if it hurt, he showed no signs of it. Which made sense, given what he was.
"Use Phantom Force!"
The shedinja remained motionless in the air for a moment before fading then vanishing entirely. Reappearing behind Zyk, he sent a burst of blood at the crobat.

The crobat recoiled as the blood-- normally his food source-- suddenly hurt him. He flapped his wings quickly to shake the burning droplets off the sensitive leather of his wings.
"Keep it up! Wing Attack!" Zin called.
The crobat sent another gust of wind toward Urabrask.

Hit again with the wind, Urabrask was knocked back. "Use Will-o-Wisp, Ura!" The shedinja focused on the crobat and sent pyrokinetic energy at it.

"Dodge with a Wing Attack!" Zin said.
Zyk dove below the fiery orb, locking his wings and aiming straight for Urabrask. He tried to hit the bug pokemon before swooping back to a safe distance.

The point blank attack cracked Urabrask's shell, and blood raced out from within, firing at the crobat.

Zyk neatly dodged the spray of blood and flew out of range. He waited and, as expected, Zinnia repeated her command. The crobat dove again, hoping to repeat the feat he'd managed last time and put a quick end to the battle.

"Go! Zyk!" Zinnia encouraged.
Zyk pumped his wings in an attempt to slow the ball, but to no avail; he should have dodged. Instead, he was hit in the chest, although not at full force. His endeavor had at least slowed the shadow ball enough to avoid a critical hit. Still, he hoped that his attack had made it back to Urabrask.

Urabrask was hit again, and finally he fell. Returning him to his pokeball, Lenore gave a smile and a wave to Zin before heading to the pokemon center.
