Ime gave a startled yelp and jumped away, instinctively gripping the straps over her shoulder. Oh no! At least it wasn't a mugger, but aldabuk had horns! Nobody needed to get gored today, they had a lot of walking to do!

After the initial panic wore off and she leaned out, trying an intimidation tactic or at the very least to draw the creature's attention away from Thorn.

"Hey!" she yelped, putting her bags down and giving the animal a good whack on the rump. She was a little surprised by how muscular it felt. Her hand stung!

The aldabuck turned its head and snorted at Ime, which made Thorn panic and shout, truth be told the male was rather territorial and more concerned about the male earthling for that matter, he had a weapon and might want to go after the aldabucks family.

And the aldabuck had had to fight off 3 other alda males this morning and he just was not in a good mood.

Thorn turned to run and presented a most tempting target. Even flailing with his knife behind his well behind didn't help and the thick black horns connected soundly launching the big man off of his feet. The alda approached to stomp him but Thorn scissored his legs. He was going to feel that in the morning.

Ime had never been one for danger, but seeing Thorn attacked brought out a protective instinct within her. SHe didn't want to see any blood today.

"Hey!" she shouted again, but this time she raised her hand and conjured a bath of ice shards, sending them at the aldabuk. She didn't want to roast it if she didn't have to. She was running at its back, trying to get it to turn or run or anything but stab Thorn in the stomach.

Ice was unpleasant, the alda had had enough winter when winter had been here so when the ice smacked his rump and melted in the fluffy fur there, he tucked his but around but not before glaring at the Leafling on the ground. He then turned to sneer at the Leafllings mate. He was leaving becuase he had left his own females alone for too long that was all.

He stomped off, graceful for all the violence he had just shown.

Thorn watched after him, having got the hint. He would have to train more..a lot more, but for now the only thing bruised was his but and it was capable of taking the abuse. "I think he missed my tailbone." Thank goodness, that would have made everything painful. He didn't have a tail why did he need a tail bone anyway?

He sat up and clambered to his feet, glanced at where the blackling had gone. "Are you okay Ime? I don't think he hit anything important on me."

The aldabuk seemed reasonably miffed, and for a moment Ime thought it might run at her. If wind and ice didn't deter it, she'd have to use fire, or else defend them both and head for the hills. Adrenaline kicked in but Ime thought the best course of action at the moment was to not move at all. Luckily that was enough and the beast wandered off as if it had never tried to beat them up. She turned to Thorn and waved a hand.

"No, I'm fine," she replied, a smile slowly forming again. She went to Thorn a put her hand on his belly, looking for damage. He might bruise, but he wasn't bleeding. Good. Her smile grew and she planed a kiss on his chest before offering him her hand again. It was not beyond her understanding that Thorn had tried to protect her.

"My hero."
