They had made it, after a long walk, getting colder all the way they had just passed the border into Sauti. The sight of the new scenery fair took Iroia's breath away. "This..is your home?" It was rugged and clean cut, stark beauty emblazoned on every rock face with few pesky foliage plants to ruin the visage. "Its beautiful."
Each piece of tendaji had its perks; huge grasslands, impenetrable forest ect. But here one could really breathe. It helped a great deal that Vosh came from here, made it more romantical to her. She twined her fingers with his and started out at a faster clip then the others soon loosing them in the dust. She wanted this moment to herself and Vosh. This was his home and after all a big deal. It probably felt good to him that he was returning home, just as the rocks under her soles felt completely new, no leaflitter, little loam and no cushy grass bed to speak off, in fact she suspected that it was an old riverbed with the smooth curve of the stones looking positively rounded in appearance.

The hazy mountain air... Votzhem couldn't get enough of it. After the thick, wet air of the jungle, Sauti's thin and dry air was cool and welcome. He could almost get drunk off of it, this taste of home. He looked at Iroia in surprise.
”You think so? He didn't know about beautiful, but it was home. Well, near to home. Home was still several hours away, but they had passed the worst of the cliffs and the trail ahead was not very hazardous, by Sauti standards.
They had split from their main group, leaving them to continue on to – and beyond – the border between Sauti and Zena. They would meet them in the tundra, closer to Ruelash's distant home. Vosh had to admit, his doppelganger had his... charms... but they all needed a break from each other and Votzhem... well...
He let his eyes wander over Iroia. She was cloaked in furs to keep her warm, but some of her figure was still visible. His excuse, the reason they were here alone, was that he wanted Iroia to meet his parents. It had been too out of the way for Ruelash, who wanted to get back to Zena, and that suited Votzhem just fine. His mothers would not have minded the guests, but this was personal, between him and Iroia and them, and so he had split off and let them move on.
But of course, his parents were not the only reason. ”Whether its beautiful or not...” he said, moving closer to her and laying an arm over her shoulder, ”I think ye look good in it.”

"I do think so." she smiled, the scenery was wild and rugged and rather a more manly beauty then the soft (or at least soft looking) waving grass of Tale. At his compliment which kind of took her from left field she blushed like a little girl. "Oh, um thank you," she grinned. He looked good here too, fitting in with the landscape, his body seemed to recognize it and glory in the cool air. She on the other hand felt rather like a large fluffy scorra with fur. But at least she was warm, and she did love the feel of the soft furs around her sensual even. A playful glint showed in her eyes and she stepped up to Vosh a corner of her fur cloak in her hand. She brushed its softness over each cheek then kissed his nose. "I like the furs." she said before scrabling down an incline to look coyly back at him. Play? her eyes questioned.

The moment the words left his mouth, Votzhem braced for the inevitable teasing. He was very ready to tell her that she actually looked good everywhere just especially so here, and so on with putting his foot in his mouth. He was prepared for the playful exasperation and the frustration such teasing would bring on. He was even prepared for the final silence that would come when he was finally overwhelmed with his own bad wording.
Needless to say, he was relieved when she liked his complement. He blushed, his cheeks reddening as she stroked them with the soft, fluffy fur, his arms instinctively opened to allow her close and protect her. He grinned... he liked the furs too.
And then, elusive as a breeze, she was away. His grin widened.
Play?
Sure.
He set off after her, laughing as he slipped slightly on a rock and caught himself easily.

It was the classic game of cat and mouse, and she knew the cat would catch her, she was used to grassy flats with trees to duck around, not the hard rock gardens of Sauti, still it was good to work on her skills as she slipped and scrambled trying to breath between mad giggles as he followed. She was delighted that he thought she looked good here, looking good might mean belonging and if this was his home then maybe she belonged with him. The thought sent a fire sizzling through her blood and pushed her athletically up a rock face that otherwise she would have been able to climb. She peeked over the edge grinning. "Oh Voshy~" Maybe he could catch her, maybe he couldn't but she was most avid in watching his muscled body try. She felt like a wild thing too, in her furs letting all the rest of everything fall away but her and Vosh and Sauti.

Votzhem pursued Iroia over the crags and boulders, feeling an almost predatory heat rising within him as he leapt from stone to stone. This was no game of tag: this was a hunt. He grinned up at Iroia, clambering up the rock face with ease, just as he had done as a child.
”Don't worry Iroia, me lass!” he taunted, ”I can climb this just fine!” he laughed as he passed the halfway mark, ”Worry about yerself! I'm going to catch you, you know!” He laughed, his hands easily gripping handholds and holding his weight. ”And who knows what will happen when I do!”
Wait. What would he do when he caught her. He hesitated, just a moment, at the very lip of the rock face, before a blush fled across his face, followed by a playful glint in his eyes.
Oh. He knew. If she was up for it, he knew what he would do when he caught her.
His pulse raced in excitement at the thought, and it propelled him up over the lip of the ridge. ”See?” he said, ”Not a problem.”

Iroia grinned at him, suppressing the urge to squeak and instead dropped down the other side, racing for the craggy shadows which turned out to be a cave, she made for it with everything she had, knowing the predator behind her would catch her, she hoped he did. She had seen the look in his eye and had answered it, intensely aware of both their bodies as she slid over soil and rocks. Almost there, almost to the cave where she could hide in the darkness, green eyes watching lost in the dark, hunted. Her arms got gooseflesh and she panted up the short rise to the cave. Would she make it? Or would he snatch her up before then, and why couldn't she stop grinning like a fool? She wanted to call his name egg him on, but she didn't have enough breathe left. And you never turned while going this fast, it would just give your pursuer the advantage that Vosh with his delightfully long legs didn't need.

Votzhem ignored the slight scratches and scrapes that were inflicted on him as he dropped to the ground, his mind on a single goal – Iroia. He slammed aching hands against the rocks, climbing up as if born to them. His eyes needed a moment to adjust as he entered the cave, but his antennae told him where Iroia hid. He moved forward swiftly and grabbed her arm, turning her around and pressing her to him. He wrapped his other arm around her and kissed her aggressively on the lips, enough to hurt his own lips. They pulsed with his heartbeat as he drew away, panting, his eyes adjusted to the darkness to see her crystal-decorated face close to his. ”I caught you.” he growled, his breath hot and wet against her cheek...

Feral, fierce, passionate. She melted into him, her body hearing the call as his mouth claimed hers. She came out of it unable to think straight for a bit. "Aye you did, and glad I am of it." she had dug her hands into the mass of his dreadlocks, careful not to pull but taking great pleasure in his closeness. She leaned in and answered him with a gentle nibble up his graceful neck. Hrrnng, she had never been happier then right now in the mouth of this cave. She no longer felt the cold, nor the hard rocks beneath her feet. She admired his body yes, but also the man inside it, he wasn't all rage, or anxiety, he had balance and yet he could still handle her just fine. That's what she wanted, what she needed in a man, a complimentary soul that could be her equal. She tilted her head back, surrendering to him having shown him that she wanted to be here with him just as much as he wanted to be here with her. "You've caught me alright, I'm yours."

Votzhem got a hold of himself – rampant ferocity was not his way, not at all, and the thought of continuing like that made him suddenly uneasy. It was impossible, though, to stop. Not when she was so inviting, so surrendering, so beautiful in his arms.
He kissed her on the throat, gentler now. ”Yes.” he said, pressing her to him as he kissed her on the mouth, gentler still, more lovingly. ”And I'm yours.”
And they both knew what that meant...((Fade to Black))

A little while later Iroia woke, blinking, an unaccostomed but most welcomed male warmth lay beside her and she snuggled closer, draping herself over the handy muscular chest.."Mmmmm," she could get used to this, who cared about cold when you had a nice warm male to snuggle up to. She sighed in utter contentment, eyes half closed. Well that had been a most enjoyable morning if she did say so herself. She peered up at his handsome face and laid a hand gently on his cheek. Earth shatteringly handsome aye, and a darn good man. Mine. She stifled the giggle before it could happen and curled up using him as a heater in the chilly Sauti air. Yup she liked it here in this wild place. For where he went on tendaji, she would go. For the life of her she had no idea why the others had left him, she never would. As far as she was concerned he was her and her his, the way it should be. He accepted her for who she was, what she was and she felt all the more special for it.

”Mmm.” he murmured, snuggling her in half-wakefulness. It was nice to wake up next to someone. Beyond the warmth of their body, there was the softness of their skin. And, also, the knowledge that they had let you be with them. They had trusted you with the most intimate of their secrets, had let you touch them just a few rungs shy from their soul. And he had done the same in return. He opened his dark eyes halfway, looking down at Iroia's brown hair. Sleepily, he snuggled her close, kissing the top of her head and resting his lips there. ”Hello.” he murmured, stroking down her hair to her shoulder.

"You know, I don't think I've ever been happier then I have been right now," She smiled and kissed his nose. "Here with you on a cave floor, do we ever have to go back?" Back to the sun, back to the others, and back to the threat of the alks simmering in their sweaty rainforest home. Why, when she could stay on Sauti cloud nine with her mate? They would never get bored what with this and sparring after all. To the winner goes the prize which would of course be the looser. She was game for that. She cracked an eye seeing the ever present coat, which was being put to good use holding the heat to both of them. She loved it the luxurious feel of the leather, the tickle of the soft fur, and loved even more that she was closer to Vosh then it was for the moment. Naha, take that coat. Maybe she should get one like that, but more curvy.

”Mmph.” he squeezed her close, nuzzling into the crook of her neck and enjoying her soft warmth. ”We don't have to.” he said lazily, ”We don't have to leave this here cave at all.”
In truth, of course, they would have to leave eventually – for food, for water, for calls of nature, for parents – but now, right now, what need did he have for sisters steeped in their own pride, or cold mountain passes where the stones hid more than secrets?
”I love you.” he murmured, honestly and openly, curling against her.

Iroia melted at his first words, she knew they would have to as well, but it was much nicer to pretend that they never had to, could make their own world here, raise their family if they ever had one, friends could visit but they would never leave their rockwalled home in the womb of the earth. She froze when he said the words that changed her whole world in one fell swoop. Her eyes watered and she held him close, stroking his hair and face, "I love you too." And she did, had for a while, she had just never said it allowed, she wouldn't have thought that he would say it first either. Now she could fell it blooming strongly in her chest, pulsing with rightness, like sun and honey combined into a feeling. Their bond such as it was was sealed.
