Keelthy felt alive again in Oba and was unable to stop his feet doing steps even in between his walking. Home, home home! He didn't care he was about to face his uncles they could chew date leather for all he cared he was in the hot and dry and all the happier for it. Oh the glee! He had left the group to stew for a bit and set out on his own for a little wandering.
He was heading to a small oasis stream and found that there was someone else there, someone not dark enough to be Oban. "Hello there," He called cheerfully, "Do you mind if I pick up some water?" It wasn't too far from the border with Jauhar and he couldn't blame anyone for being curious about other lands, especially his..the most fascinating one. This was a lone female, odd but not entirely unheard of. He shrugged mentally and waited for her reaction, fear, indignation, rage, indifferent who knew?

Kdal blinked, looking up from where he'd been washing his clothing. He knew better than to wash in the water itself, seeing as how it was an oasis and water was scarce and precious. Instead he'd woven togeter a sort of basket using the plant material that grew around the water source, and was close enough to the water that whatever seeped out, would get filtered by the dirt. It helped that he wasn't using any soap.
What didn't really help was that he was dressed in nothing but a pair of flimsy underthings and was holding his breast band.
"Hello to you too." He called out, mentally raising an eyebrow at the other. Normally people would stutter and blush and turn away when they saw a female body topless. Or leer. Kdal wasn't sure if the other had even noticed his predicament, but he wasn't going to point it out. Besides it really couldn't get any worse. Somewhere within the confines of a nearby bush Dakri let out a shrill call, and chased out a small critter, circling Kdal with the intent of catching it. Instead the Sail Scale found himself tangled up in his owners loose long hair, eliciting yelps of pain as the familiar thrashed, trying to free himself.

Keel noticed about the time that Kdal called out just what he had stumbled across. Oh dear. He did turn, he did blush and he apologized quite profusely too. That was until the ladies pet made its unorthodox appearance. Then he walked closer trying not to notice anything more then tugging sailscale out of hair. Still apologizing he finally divested the reptile from the hair and released it before turning to allow her some time to cover herself. That had been his first half nakie woman and while he like both men and women he preferred them to flirt first with clothes on. This accident left him nowhere to even start talking. He couldn't even hide behind his janarim because Xarthin was back with the convoy. "I didn't realize you were in undress. My bad." The fact hadn't escaped him that she was lovely he was male after all but he was a bit shocked was all.

"Ugh, Dakri no." Kdal muttered, holding onto the Sail Scale once the Oban had helped free him. He eyed his back a moment before letting his familiar go again, watching as the subdued beast crooned softly and nuzzled his knee. He took a moment to tug on a wet shirt, as his breastband still filthy and some clothing would be better than none in this situation. Normally his hackles would have been raised, but this male, he didn't stare or let his gaze linger before showing false concern for his modesty.
Not that Kdal had any to begin with. But the thought was what counted, right?
He tugged at the shirt, making a face at the way that it clung to his body in a way that was far more indecent than him actually being naked would have been. "It's alright, you can turn around now. Sorry I don't have anything that's dry at the moment." He said, standing. Dakri twined around his ankles before taking off to the water's edge to peer into the depths. He scowled at the familiar and tried to arrange his hair so that it covered most of his frontal curves. "Thanks for the help there, Dakri isn't normally so clumsy when I have my hair down."

Keel turned back around. "Quite all right, I know all about familiar woes, I think he just got a bit excited about something. At least hes a small familiar, my brother and I have a janarim and have spent more then one tense minute extracting his bulk from whatever mess he has gotten in..you should have seen us as the market place the one day..well its funny now." He said peering at the sailscale who was peering into the water. "They do keep things interesting, and I'd rather have Xarthin then not." He smiled back at Kdal who was remarkably composed, most females would be freaking out like mad and beating him with whatever came to hand. "My name is Keelthy."

"Kdal and that monster over there is Dakri." Kdal replied, waggling his fingers at the Keelthy. "Trust me, these buggers invent new ways to be both entertaining and annoying." Kdal said, turning back further examine his breast band before declaring it a lost cause and just bunching it up. "Some of my tribe breed them and sell them, and when you get packs as large as we do running about, well... You learn to adapt pretty quickly."
He took a moment to examine the Oban before him, noting the mostly relaxed nature. "You headed back home?" He asked, head tilted a bit to one side, eyes curious.

"Hello Dakri," Keelthy said peering curiously at the sailscale, they were rather neat looking and he thought he might try to find one as a pet..until the mention of swarms made him think he should consider that particular venture more carefully. "Yes I am, I was sort of booted out of my family and I have goals to reinstate myself whether they like the idea initially or not." Kdal didn't speak like most women, kind of giving off a more masculine vibe which let Keelthy relax faster for some reason. It was hard to explain, even for him. He thought perhaps that a more feminine shifter might be a little more prickly at getting caught with her er breast band down. Not that he was very manly but the training had sure helped, there seemed to be two sides to himself now, Keelthy the dancer and he-Keelthy the dagger dancer. It sounded silly but it was what it was, he was entitled to be both if he so chose. He also preferred if someone else flirted first and under the circumstances of this particular meeting was kind of glad they were talking about the neutral territory of sailscales. "How many need there be before they become a swarm?"

He had to pause a moment to think about it, "Well, I wouldn't call them a swarm per say, more like a flock." Kdal replied slowly, still looking as if he were turning it over in his head. "You need at least four or five to get them up and running and they'll breed when they're ready. They're good as single companions and while it depends on the individual, they can be a bit needy. Their a social bunch you know?"
He paused a moment before continuing, "Their dynamics are a lot easier to understand than that of an Earthling family. People say things they don't mean in the heat of the moment, especially when they realize that they're either in the wrong or losing the argument. " He could see that the other was uncomfortable and he hoped that it wasn't because of him. But he didn't know how to ease their mind without sounding know-it-all or condescending.

"Mmm that sounds charming," he smiled, "Maybe when I come back for a visit I'll look around for one to try and tame. My particular family is more complicated then most, being guards and proud and well some born with sticks up their behinds, not even kidding." He grinned. "I prefer a more uncomplicated approach to life myself. I'm afraid the stress of seeing them again will make me loose too much hair, have you ever heard of a bald dancer?" Now at least he had something to look forward too if he ever traveled this way again, which might be faster then he thought if his family did not let him in. Bahh, stop thinking about that!

"Depends on the sort of dancing you're talking about." Kdal replied, humor coatings his words. "I've heard that there's this dance in Oba that requires you to play with fire. I imagine that you'd want to do that with as little hair as possible else you catch aflame!" He grinned, hoping to lighten the others mood a little.
"But yes, I do understand what you mean by family being proud and stuck up. Mine often need time to work through their issues so perhaps yours do too?" He reached out to pat the others shoulder, "If anything does happen you're free to find me and we can travel together a bit. Perhaps making a name for yourself will prove to them that what you're doing isn't wrong or so different."

"Thank you Kdal," Keel put his hand on top of the others gently. "That means a lot to me, I have friends sure, but not many, and every little bit of support helps so much." He lifted his hand. "There is only one way to find out what will happen and that is to face them with as much dignity as possible, thanks to those I know I still have that dignity." He looked up at the sky, so vast so beautiful. "In any case, I would like to travel with you at some point, perhaps we can meet up after and go on an adventure or two, I feel like I have so much more to learn about Tendaji.
