There before Caoin was the door to the throne room.. but it was so thickly sealed as to be almost a solid sheet. The same effects from the other crystals were there though, making her gaze on the crystal cause her stomach to lurch.
"Get a grip on yourself..." She hissed softly before removing an arrow from her quiver and with it clutched in both hands, driving it hard against the crystal. Sure it was likely to ruin the arrow, but she wanted to see how fragile the crystal itself was, of course she also made sure her whole body was covered by protection first, one did not become a healer without ensuring their own safety.

The arrow strikes the crystal, driving deep into the stone. It quivers in place and then stills. A moment later, black streaks begin to cover the weapon, growing along its shaft, small crystals rising in clusters.

[Enter] After awhile of wandering, Shun found himself near the throne room. He raised his brow as he looked over the sealed door, Slowly, he approached, taking note of the arrow that was stuck in the crystal... and what was happening to it.
Right. So don't touch the door. If that wasn't obvious enough already. He did, however, step closer to try and get a better look, to try and see if there were any cracks or the like within the crystal.

Shun sees himself gazing back. The reflection raises a bloody hand and gestures to something behind the knight. There's nothing there, except another knight.

Another sheet of that weird black crystal. Wonderful. Maple let out a little groan when she arrived, her hopes of something a little less weird dashed into oblivion. At least it didn't seem as cold here than in the halls at least - still, she kept her arms tucked close in her mantle, only allowing her fingers to be out since she had to hold her weapon somehow - but this was leaving them with an obstacle to probably an important room. This was the door to the throne room, wasn't it?
"There weren't o-other ways in.. right?" Probably a stupid question.

Seeing as Chel's brain was now a milkshake of emotions she chose to ignore every single one of them and focus on the task at hand. It was easier than remembering-
"Hey so update. Don't touch the crystals," she told Shun, briefly brushing his arm to alert him to her presence. "Saw some stuff. Lots of death." She kept it short and didn't want Shun to ask for more.
She moved on. "How's it goin' here?" she asked, noting the arrow notched in the crystal door.

Shun narrowed his eyes as he watched his reflection. He glanced over his shoulder, but only the other knights were there.
"None as far as I know," he said in response to Maple before raising his brow at Chel, "Do not touch this one either. The crystal seems to like to spread. Unfortunately, it is what is blocking our path."
He let out a breath and turned back towards the structure.

Seeing as Chel was a ******** idiot, she learned nothing from her past experiences and sauntered towards the crystal door. "This thing? It ain't so scary ..."
Her face told a different story, but nevertheless she leaned in close to try to listen for anything behind the door.

Kari gazed up at the dark sheet that covered the door. Looking into the reflection proved that the material was of the same ilk as the crystals she'd passed before. Hearing one black knight's comment sparked her curiosity.
"I wonder... there may just be another means of entering. We just may not be able to see it", she called out in reply, walking away from the encased doors entirely. Instead, tucking her quarterstaff under her arm, she moved towards the walls next to the doors. Taking care to avoid any contact with dark crystals, Kari began tapping and pressing the clean parts of the walls for any clues.

"Ah...Chel." The voice was a man's, even and grimly bemused as it whispered in her ear. "We meet again." Suddenly a spike of crystal shot outward, toward her face.
The wall began to shift and crack. It did not break, though. Instead, like a living crowd, it parted, creating a a passage just wide enough for knights to enter single file.
Beyond was the throne, and it was not the Great King's seat. No, this was a grisly thing of bone and skull, and atop is sat a familiar figure in a dark hood.

[Rei enters!] Pushing along the maddening corridor of black crystals leads them nowhere but a huge door blocked off by thick layers of those.
The Great Knights and other Knights warned each other that they shouldn't touch the crystals. He didn't want to, even without the warning---what happened to Galahad's still fresh on his mind, anyway.
If they can't touch it, maybe their weapons can? Somebody who thought in same lanes as him shot an arrow---nope. Now, how to proceed?
As he thought how to open the door---it opened from within. It was not the door that opened, but the walls--revealing someone that they thought has been lost.
Merlin.
"Thought so." Rei muttered to himself. That black thing forcibly subjugated by the red swarm of butterflies---first, a swallow, then a snake, and a cat. It was him...probably.

Maple didn't know if she really should have been listening at all, but the update from the new blonde knight about the crystals was, in a way, appreciated even if she didn't like the sounds of it. Maybe she shouldn't have after all. Death? Oh great, she kept her hands to herself even more now. Not something that was going to help in any way, especially when someone was actually following through with her suggestion.
Just stood there like a useless log.
And then made a distressing sound when something actually happened. Her eyes went wide to Chel's direction, her mouth went wide when the wall of crystal actually started to move and remained that way as she followed after the others. (Wait, was she following after the others, oh she hoped so!)
"Sir Merlin!" The black knight exclaimed, surprised. That was an odd choice for a seat. Kind of worrisome actually. Maple found herself taking a step back with a hand sliding up to rest on the hem of her hood, oh so ready to pull it over her head.

Kari's hand recoiled as it managed to hit a panel on the wall, allowing a passage to slowly rumble into view. "So there was a hidden entry after all," she temporized as the rumbling ceased and she peaked her head through the thin hole.
Looking back towards the others as they started walking towards the opening she'd created, Kari fell in line to join them in their progress. She shuddered to a stop at what laid on the other side of the wall. It was Sir Merlin, sitting upon a skeletal throne. Kari was unsettled by his appearance and his lack of movement at their arrival.
"Is... is he alive?," Kari asked to no one in particular. She had a vague idea, but she still wanted to hold out some hope that they hadn't lost all their former Great Knights just yet.
