Junko sat nestled up against Seiji on his lap, her head tucked under his chin and her eyes closed. Re-meeting his father had gone extremely well, no doubt aided by not only her gifts to him but her lessened anxiety after the assurances from Emilia. Tea had been nice, and everything was going well, up until Junko finally started to feel the stress of the past week finally leave her, along with all of her energy. She had felt a poor guest, but Emilia assured her they understood and she could go take a nap. Seiji had joined her, keeping her company while she rested until finally she awakened and climbed onto his lap.

"Mm, how should we tell them?" She finally asked with a kiss to Seiji's chin, eyes closed and a hand coming up to drag her fingertips along the length of his jaw.

Seiji had spent the whole of Junko's nap sitting with his back up against the headboard with her curled up against his side, head pillowed on his thigh as he stroked her hair. A book was in his other hand, balanced on his knee. It was a perfectly good way to spend the afternoon after their long train ride and his poor fiance's nerves. The relief she had felt after her meeting had been obvious, even contagious. Seiji had known things would be alright--or at least he'd had hoped so, had no reason to doubt it--but even he was relieved. Probably, more so for her sake though.

When she woke up, climbing tiredly into his lap to tuck her head beneath his chin he pulled her in against his chest, holding her to him.

"I think maybe just get right to the point," he mused, tipping his head to rest his cheek on her hair. They could have drawn it out, made a game of it, but he really didn't want to.

Honestly, Junko was willing to agree to anything in that moment. She made a happy noise and nodded her head, then looked down at her left hand to play with her ring. "Okay~. That's a good plan," she replied with gentle happiness, feeling absolutely serene and content cuddled up on his lap. "You're gonna be in big trouble for not telling theeeeeem when it happeeeeeened," Junko teased with a fit of giggles, raising her arms to wrap them around his neck and pull Seiji in to rub the tip of her nose against his. "So bad, when we have scarelings I'm going to make sure they keep me up to date on important stuff, and I won't take no for an answer," she declared with a grin.

Sniffing sharply, the ghost prodded fingertips into his ghoul's side. "We haven't been able to get back here until now, and this is the sort of news you deliver face to face." He poked her again; ignoring the weeks, ignoring the squirming. Absolutely relentless as he assaulted her sides.

A solid minute of torture before he took pity on her. The tickling stopped, strong hands curling around her sides.

He poked her and she squeaked, shying away from the touch. "We could have done it sooner," she argued back, squeaking again as he poked her again. And then it just escalated into full on tickling. Junko squealed and tried to fight against him, even trying to get away and climb off his lap while laughing and crying with playful protest and help. Help, help! I'm being attacked!

Until finally he stopped and held her. Junko growled and curled around him, still giggling. "My king is so cruel," she whined, nuzzling her face into cheek.

"In the middle of my classes?" She was right, they probably could have, but Seiji had wanted to wait until he'd finished a few courses, so he didn't have impending school work looming over his shoulder. At the moment he was on the cusp, in between the classes he'd just finished and the ones he would have to start once they headed back. It was easier this way, less of a strain, and with Junko's stress already an issue, less strain had seemed a good idea at the time.

The growl was cute, the giggle was cuter. Seiji smirked down at his soon to be bride and gave her a kiss on the tip of her nose. "This isn't cruel. Do you want to see cruel?" Brows raised, he pressed fingertips into her sides again, a threat and a promise.

This wasn't exactly stalling. The ghost wasn't worried about his parents' reaction, didn't dread the upcoming announcement, but he had to admit a certain amount of nerves.

"Nuh uh, no way. You don't scare me!" She protested while reaching down to take hold of his hands with her own hands and long coils of black hair that wrapped around his arms and pulled at him. "If you keep doing this we'll never get out there to tell your parents the good news. Wasn't it you who once told me they wanted to adopt me?" Junko reminded him with a grin.

"I'll scream for help again if you keep tickling me. I promise I will."

"Is that so?" Hair slithered up his arms, around his wrists, and Seiji merely grinned at the ghoul as he leaned in towards her. His hands had stilled, but he could still tickle her. Cool lips against her cheek, down her jaw, along the line of her neck. Soft little nibbles to make her squirm before he was drawing back to smirk down at the ghoul.

"They do want to adopt you, but this'll be better. They'll have you as a daughter, and I'll still be able to marry you since you won't be my adopted sister." He snorted, amused.

It didn't matter how well she had him all wrapped up in her hair, he could still lift her effortlessly, so he slid to the edge of the bed and stood up, scooping her up into his arms and headed for the door. "Let's do this."

Junko nodded. "You stopped being scary to me a long, looooong time ago," she announced with a bit of pride. No, he didn't necessarily scare her anymore..not as much, anyway. When he kissed her cheek she relaxed, closing her eyes and tilting her head into the kiss. This was nice, she could stay like this awhile longer. There came a surprised squeak when he kissed along her jaw, a helpless giggle escaping her; in her experience he didn't usually stop at that, he normally kept going to more places, which he did not disappoint as he continued on to her neck. Sharp teeth grazed her throat and she gave a quiet gasp, her own teeth pressing into her bottom lip as she tipped her head back to let him at her throat. Just before he drew away from her she leaned in to brush her lips against his temple, warm lips silently mouthing an 'I love you' against cool skin before he lifted his head again. Despite his smirk she still smiled up at him with a dreamy quality only ever reserved for Seiji.

"That's good," she said softly, "because nothing is going to stop me from marrying you," Junko then added. Despite the softness of her voice there was a sense of finality to her tone; she had run away from him once, she was never going to do that again.

There was no protest from Junko as Seiji lifted her off the bed and began to make his way toward the door. At that moment his little fiancee was nothing but a bundle of contentment that simply relaxed against him and practically melted in his arms. One tendril of hair wrapped around his neck and weaved itself around the red string tied there. Her hands moved as well, one resting against his chest while the other reached up to draw her fingers along his jaw, the tips of her nails just barely scraping against cool flesh. She even opened the door for him when he was close, using her hair to do so and then allowing more of it to slither around his arms and waist so it wouldn't drag on the floor. "I wouldn't be surprised if your mother already knew, though. It's not as if I've gone out of my way to hide my hands or anything."

To that he offered an amused snort and a kiss on the top of the head. He hoped by now she wouldn't be afraid of him. He'd never hurt her, never so much as lifted a hand against her and barely barely raised his voice. She was precious to him, even when thoughts of her had brought nothing but pain, she had still been precious. Enough so that in the midst of that darkness he'd gotten the tree she'd once painted on his back permanently applied to his skin.

"I should hope not," he commented, chuckling softly under his breath as he opened the door and headed into the hall.

As for his mother already knowing, he wouldn't but it past the old haunt. She was an observant woman, and she seemed to know her soon and the ghoul in his arms better than they knew themselves at times. "Probably."

When they reached the family room the two elderly ghosts were sitting beside one another on the couch. Emilia was sipping at a cup of tea, and his father was reading the book Junko had given him. They both looked up as the two youngsters arrived. "So," Seiji started, smiling at the pair. "We've got some news."

As they stopped in the family room Junko pat Seiji's shoulder and turned her body as if trying to get down, waiting for him to comply and help her down to her feet. She clasped her hands together under her chin, smiling from ear to ear and very nearly bouncing on her toes. "Yes! Really great news!"

She looked up at Seiji then. Should she just say it? Or was he going to say it? or would they say it together?

Oh Jack we didn't decide on anything.

It seemed Seiji had come to the same realization a second later, because he chanced a glance down at Junko before turning back to his parents. Emilia was smiling benignly, patiently. Tom looked curious.

Smiling rekindling, the jikininki reached down catch the fingers on Junko's left hand, and arranged them so he could show the two haunts seated before them. It wasn't the most creative means of sharing their news, but they had both agreed that a speedier reveal was better. "I asked Junko to marry me, and she's said yes." No mention of the previous declined offer, no mention of the year they had spent apart.

Emilia's smile grew, but she didn't look all that surprised by the news. Standing, the woman collected Junko into her arms. "Welcome to the family, dear."

Seiji's father stood as well, grinning now, and slapped his son on the shoulder happily.

Seiji took her hand and Junko naturally took a step closer to him until she could brush against him. Her ring glinted and caught her eye, and she tilted her head a bit as she gazed upon it with a dreamy look until Emilia pulled her into a hug and brought her back to reality. She gasped, automatically returning the hug with wide eyes. Oh!

Oh. Welcome to the family.

Oh jack.

Her heart stopped. No one had ever said that to her before. She had been welcomed to places, events, functions..never into a family. Junko swallowed hard and managed to keep herself in check, not even allowing her eyes to water as she instead hugged Emilia tighter with a delighted laugh. "Thank you! We're really excited. I brought my book of wedding plans and stuff if you want to see it at some point while we're here!" She leaned back a bit, shrugging and smiling. "I figured you might like it?"

Seiji was sharing a smile with his father, silent communication passing between them as Junko and Emilia expressed their joy verbally.

The haunt gave the monster ghoul another squeeze, then stepped back to place hands on her shoulders, smiling at her. "I would like that a lot." It meant something, being invited into the planning, even if just a little bit. With a pleased little noise Emilia released Junko, only to cup pale, butter milk cheeks in her chilly grip, holding briefly, before releasing her altogether.

Now she'd eye her son, stepping back until she was beside the couch again. "It's about time you two figured yourselves out." It was reproving, but fond, and pale eyes were knowing as she shifted that motherly gaze from one youngling to the next.

Junko clapped her hands and bounced on her toes with excited delight. "Wonderful! I can show you tonight if you two aren't going out to your haunting house later, or I can show you tomorrow morning when you've returned." She and Seiji had barged in uninvited, she hardly expected the two old haunts to change any plans they'd made simply because of her and Seiji's unexpected visit.

But then Emilia was stepping away and eyeing Seiji, and..what. Junko blushed, rubbing the back of her neck and looking sheepishly to Seiji with a tiny little smile.
