THE HOLO DECK CODE These rules will be spoken of in detail each in a separate post. Please don't feel intimidated, this is just for easy finding of the rule you want to recheck if needed. These rules are subject to change in case of need, plus while I am setting up these posts I may forget some that I need to add. Post 1: Stick to Gaia TOS Post 2: No godmodding Post 3: Be respectful Post 4: Posting Post 5: Activity Now this is something my friend added in her guild and I find it a good idea. So if you read all the rules reply to this thread saying so. Don't post before you did this or I will delete your post/thread.

Post 1: Stick to Gaia TOS Of course we all know how this rule works. It is the MOST IMPORTANT rule of Gaia Online. Sadly not everyone sticks to it. Now the next part I am going to sound harsh and maybe mean but: Here in this guild I enforce it. If I catch you posting a thread or reply that does not comply to Gaia TOS, I will report you to Gaia Staff and remove you from this guild. Ignorance is not an excuse, you should have read these when you joined the site, since you have to accept them manually. As for making this clear, many people say 18+ take it to PM, mind you this is a punishable act by Gaia. I will not endorse ANY person here saying to take 18+ to PM. I will report and remove you. There will be no 18+ subjects allowed anywhere in the guild. Not in RPs, not in OoC and not in Crew Area. (Though the crew I choose I highly doubt they ever would)

Post 2: No Godmodding Another common rule in Gaia RPs or in fact ANY RP. First let's look into what godmodding actually means. Here is a good explanation I found with example: "God Modding" is in essence when someone’s character has the ability to do practically anything without limits or boundaries. And example is when they simply cannot be harmed by any and all means other RP-ers try.
-It can be killing or injuring a character without the player's express permission. -It can be when they simply can’t be hit and dodge all attacks or anything for this matter aimed at them. -It can also be using other characters that other people RP with. In other words, if you do not RP as player A, then you cannot have player A say anything, or do anything, without the player's express permission.
The absolute worst is when they make out another character to be what they’re not, just to make their own character seem superior. They make others seem weak, screaming for help, when they’ve made it quite clear about their advantages and strengths. This is called power-play. It’s a strain of God-Modding, but instead of just being irritating, it’s offensive to boot. This is a prime example of God Modding:
Player A: Punches Player B Player B: Dodges attack, grabs Player A and throws him. Player A flies at Player B, who warps behind him and slashes Player A in the back.

Post 3: Be respectful Be respectful to your fellow players. This seems like such an unneeded rule when you assume everyone uses their common sense. Unfortunately this is not the case. I still see it happen at many places, including around Gaia Online, where people are being mistreated based on their religion, gender or even life style and sexuality. I will have none of this. I catch you being disrespectful you get one warning where you have to apologize to the one you disrespected. If you do it again (same person or not) you fly out of this guild so fast my parrot wouldn't keep up with you. Treat everyone like you would want to be treated. Do not judge people on their sexual orientation or gender, or lifestyle or even post style! And for godsakes do not bother people about typing mistakes. There are people that have dyslexia but still want to roleplay, and telling them about their mistakes only harms them more than it does any good.

Post 4: Posting Aha the one people MAY be most worried about as there are many ways to consider this rule. Rest assured it does not mean I expect you to post pages or chapters for a reply. Not at all, heck I don't make chapters! Cause I don't want people to have to read a book before they can reply to me. No I mean more the substance of posts. Though most people will expect at least one paragraph (I'm no exception) You don't have to make posts large. The problem with this is that many people end up adding useless details at that moment and the substance of a reply is lost, after which their counter player will be left with nothing really big to work with. Of course you can add details! It helps with setting the environment. Just don't forget to give your fellow player something to work on with their reply smile

Post 5: Activity Please do use the absence thread to announce long absences. Ah yes the dreaded activity rule. Sorry but it needs added! Though we should all respect and understand Real Life happens, I do expect you to be active in the guild at least 1 post every 2 days. Otherwise you end up getting players stuck with nothing to do, till you come back. Of course RL can suddenly strike at you, this is inevitable and RL should always go first. However I do ask you then to leave a message about it in the OoC thread for absences that I will add after I am done working on these rules. So players can check there to see if you will be gone for long time. If I see no post about absence and you are inactive for three days I will send a PM to see what it up and if you happen to get stuck, maybe we can work something out. If I do not get a reply within the next day I will put you on inactive and players playing with you will be allowed to work themselves out of the situation. If your inactivity lasts for a week I will remove you from the guild and taking out your characters, freeing the players stuck.
