Having been so busy talking to other knights, going over things, and discretely trying to find himself some writing utensils, Jason hadn't had a chance to be by himself to just think and mull over things. Not to mention talk to either of his friends. He desperately wanted to just sit down and pretend like everything was already, just like the time they were in the banquet hall. At least for a few moments.
It was difficult to try and find the time to do so, since he didn't want to just tell the others he needed some space. He had to be available and all that. Not like the other great knights had been, but he could do better. He hoped.
"Riley?" He called out, trying to locate the camp for the white knights. "Yuki?"

She heard his voice first, and lunged up to her feet, dropping all of the work she'd been doing on preparations in order to run to him. She practically slammed into the poor man's body as she hugged him, still unsure of the balance between never touching someone, and being close enough to do so at will. She pulled back slightly when she felt the inevitable discomfort of being too close, and chose to press both of her hands on his cheeks instead.
"How dare you." She shuddered out, her eyes already filling with tears. Her expression attempted anger, but it was hopeless. Even in those brimming eyes, all that shone through them was pride, and a little bit of fear. "Who said you could go and be a hero. I did not. How dare you, Jason. I'll never forgive you."
She would, of course. But in truth, she couldn't hold anything against him even if she tried.
"I ought to go over to Lancelot right now and tell him all of the scandalous way you snuck up on me in the lake, so that he will be forced to choose someone else in your place. I should." But the pride was waning, in place of the fear. Now she trembled, because for a single moment, she wished that her ridiculous threat could have held any truth.
When he caught a glimpse of his friend Jason was overjoyed, and he was about to call out again but instead had the wind knocked out of him when Riley all but tackled him. "Omfph" He stumbled backwards, but managed not to fall over.
"R-Riley?!" He said, a little concerned as the girl he knew was loathed to touch anyone was hugging him with all her might. And at first he didn't return the gesture because of that knowledge, afraid he might make her even more upset. And then her hands were on his face, clearly surprised by her bold actions. And maybe a little embarrassed that someone was holding his cheeks so tenderly.
His heated face soon cooled at the sight of her tears. "...I'm sorry." He spoke softly, his own hands rising slowly to return her gesture, but stopping short of touching her skin, not wanting to upset her more then he already had. "I-it's okay if you don't forgive me...I have been selfish."
He had been so concerned with how he would feel if they were chosen, that he had never considered the pain they would feel if the reverse happened. And now here he stood, knowing he had hurt Riley more then he had ever thought possible.
"I think that may him even more inclined to sacrifice me." He said, a small smile tugging at his lips. "We can't have a pervert among the ranks of the great knights."

"Oh, don't be ridiculous." She teased him, her face lit up suddenly in amusement. "There is nothing to forgive. I'm extremely proud of you. But also very, very glad that your job will be a scribe, and not in extreme danger. Now, if you could just stay out of danger for me, that would make me very happy."
She disentangled herself as much as she could from him, finally blushing from being so forward. "Perhaps the only sacrifice they intend from you is your hands." She could dream.
Turning her head back towards the white brigade station, she searched for the telltale sight of that dark, long hair that always caught her eye. "Yuki is near, I think. We're just gathering supplies and making plans." When she turned her head back to Jason, her expression had blossomed into wistful, daydreamlike distraction. "He'll want to see you, too."
"T-thank you" Jason blushed at such praise. "I'l...I'll try to, b-but I can't imagine I'll just be sitting on the sidelines writing things down the whole time...I-I'll have to fight at some point." Though how he was going to fight and record at the same time was unknown even to him.
At her wishful words, He could only smile half heartily. "Maybe." He sincerely doubted it, but wasn't about to point that out.
At the mention of Yuki, he looked around the grounds for any sign of him. "He is? I haven't seen him in a while. It will be nice to catch up." Watching her expression, Jason wondered just how she could distract herself so easily, and wished he could do the same thing.

She tried not to look too unhappy at the idea of him fighting. At least she'd seen him in action enough to know he was capable.. but so were the other knights, and she knew they were all still in danger.
"Then we will find him. Come." She reached out to take his hand, and immediately pulled back when her own hand touched it. She stared at her hand for a moment, narrowing her eyes with concentration, and then took his hand again. This time, she refused to let go.
"He should be right this way. We've just had a talk with our great knight - have you spoken to Estel yet? She is the highest calibur of human being. Lancelot chose well, even if-"
She held her tongue, unable to say even if it means I'm losing my friends. If she couldn't hope for them, who would?
Oh Riley, if you ever saw Jason truely get into a fight, you'd be in for a rude shock...
Jason watched her reach out again, making no sudden movements and waiting patiently. He wouldn't rush her, no matter how long it took. And once she did hold his hand he smiled, gently clasping it and allowing her to lead him to the white knights.
"I'm afraid I haven't had a chance to meet the other great knights." He confessed. "B-but I'm sure she is a excellent Great Knight, considering Lancelot was the one who chose her." He had faith in the old great knight's choices. Even if he was one of them.

As suspected, Yuki wasn't far off. He'd taken a task of his own in collecting various plant life that he knew to be of use for their healing attributes. He had a small cloth satchel at his belt that he was dropping things into, planning now to just gather what he could find and worry about sorting everything out later.
It was when he was putting a few tiny leaves at his hip and cinching up the opening that he saw them approaching, glimpsing them from the corner of his eye. Yuki smiled warmly to them, both of them, but it was Riley he was focused on when he stepped up to meet them.
Before uttering a word of greeting, Yuki reached out to cup one side of the young woman's face, leaning in to put a chaste kiss to her lips.

"She is." Riley murmured, with a soft hum of regret. Her sadness did not last - it couldn't, when they were nearing Yuki and they'd caught her attention. "See!" She turned back to Jason, grinning too freely. "I told you he was here. He's going to be so happy to see you."
And he would be. But, to her delight, Yuki was happy to see her as well. She'd been all but dragging Jason forward when they got closer, until the abrupt stop that was punctuated with a kiss. It was a good thing she'd abandoned her veil in that previous rp that was totally already going to happen, by the way.
There was nothing left of the woman who shied away from physical touch, when she leaned up into Yuki's kiss. Instead, there was only an infatuated girl, who had found herself a brand new favorite thing to do. She grinned against his lips, and then pecked them back. "I missed you, too." She breathed against them, before pulling away enough to show him what was attached to her arm. "Look what I found!"

Once he saw Yuki he grinned, offering a friendly wave to the man with his free hand, but before anything could be said he had reached forward..and kissed her.
...When did this happen?
As if a spell was cast on Riley, she kissed him back, her sadness replaced by one of joy. It was a amazing contrast, and watching them both Jason couldn't help but smile at them.
This was good. It was something he could only hope for. To see both of them happy and care free. And seeing these new found feelings in both of them made him want to protect them even more, to keep these feelings safe where they could blossom into something more beautiful and powerful then any sacred weapon.
"I see you both have found something alright." His said, smile stretching even wider.
He gave a breath of a laugh to her words when they parted. "Mhm..."
Looking up again as she moved away, he straightened and grinned toward Jason. "Gracing us with your presence, are you?" He asked in a tease, though his tone was nothing but friendly. The white knight moved to swing an arm around the other man's shoulder in a sort of one-armed hug, even though it honestly seemed like he was trying to pull the poor guy off of his feet.
To say that he was overflowing with enthusiasm all of a sudden might have been quite an understatement. Jason was trying to tease them, it seemed, and Yuki couldn't even fake a frown.
"Aw, does it make you jealous? Sorry, I'm not giving you a kiss."

Jason made her little bubble pop, as she came to terms with the fact that he'd just watched them kiss. Her cheeks burned red, and all but buried herself against Yuki's side, as if she could escape from embarrassment there somehow. Of course, he did nothing to help, as he teased Jason relentlessly. She scoffed, scowling up at Yuki. "Who is to say he isn't jealous of you? Perhaps he wanted me to kiss him."
This was new. Even as she blushed harder than she ever had before, Riley found herself a new boldness within the safety of Yuki's arms, and it was almost as if she was normal. It was almost as if her entire life hadn't been spent holed away in a cave, separated from life. In his arms, she found something long lost.
And she wielded it like a weapon. A sharp tongued weapon.
"I suppose so. You should be lucky though, I am a busy man." At this he puffed up his chest in a poor attempt to make himself look important. This ended when he was nearly brought to the ground by his friends friendly hug. None the less he laughed it off, finding it more humorous then anything.
At Yuki's comment, he just laughed even more. "Says the person who can't keep their hands off me." Hearing Riley chime in, he just smirked "Although maybe I am a little jealous of you Riley. Yuki does look quite feminine." He looked pretty happy with his comeback too. It felt good to be happy, a light hearted feeling he had almost forgotten about.
He laughed again, watching both of them, before he quietened down. A thought had planted itself inside his head and the more he looked at them the more it grew, until he was positively beaming.
"I need to borrow him for a minute!" Jason shouted, before he practically tugged at Yuki and pulled him away from Riley. And he continued to pull him until he was behind a tree and far away so that she wouldn't hear him.
"Yuki, I'm not exactly the sharpest person but from what I can see, you have feeling for Riley. And she has feelings for you." Jason spoke rapidity, excitement tinged in his voice. "And while I don't know everything about being a great knight but I'm pretty sure I have special privileges, in that I can perform certain ceremonies for people.".
He looked at the man expectantly, hoping Yuki would see what he was getting at.

Riley was left to stand there alone and watch them conspire as if perhaps Jason wasn't kidding after all.
Yuki was chuckling in his own amusement, one arm circling around Riley's shoulders to 'protect' her from the sudden embarrassment of their affections being witnessed. Though, regardless of that, she didn't miss a beat in coming back with a tease of her own. He laughed openly then, as he finally released his practical choke hold on Jason so that he could hug the woman with enthusiasm. "Well, he's not allowed to have a kiss from you, either."
Giving a snort, Yuki tried to look offended at Jason's comment but just shook his head. "You've got long hair too, in case you'd managed to forget." Just in case he had, Yuki reached for the man's tied back hair and gave a light tug. "Just because mine is prettier than yours doesn't mean you've got to make jabs at me."
Reluctantly, Yuki let his arm slip away from Riley when Jason was suddenly tugging at him. He looked confused by the man's sudden enthusiasm, but still tried to draw out the less than serious moment. "What, you don't like kissing in front of people, either?"
But once they were out of earshot, the conversation turned to things less ridiculous and much more serious. Yuki did catch onto Jason's hint, unless he'd read too far into it, and from the way a flush of red blossomed across his cheeks and his eyes widened to stare at Jason like he'd just spouted an extra head... It looked like he was not only thrown off by the subject, but bordering on panicked.
"J-Jason... I kissed her. I kissed her today. I know that kissing is a thing that lovers do, but I am pretty sure that if you say anything like marriage around her she might faint.
Don't you think suggesting something like that is a bit... I don't know... Sudden and insane?"
But in all of that, he certainly hadn't said no.
"Even if it wasn't," Yuki continued, his expression calming as he combed one hand through his hair. "I could die tomorrow, Jason. It would be the shortest pairing in history. It wouldn't be fair to do that to anyone, would it?"
