Hey all! So I recall a good handful of us from the newbie thread seem to have a lot of creative en devours and I thought it might be cool for us to all bond a bit.
Do you do artwork? Maybe just dabble or want to get started? Feel free to post here about anything remotely creative you're interested in and want to share. If you have any personal websites for your work, please share! Or even if you would like some critique, or want to share ideas or anything like that.

I basically wanted to make us an umbrella creative space that's for us. Sure there's the artists corner in general gaia forums but I want to see what YOU have and chat in here. Feel free to talk about projects, share artists and materials that inspire you, your latest work..anything!

A little about me:
I'll be occasionally posting references and things that might be of interest. I focus mainly on general drawing materials, some typography, and comic-related art and resources so if you would like me to share anything I find outside of those categories let me know.
Artistically, I draw a lot of inspiration from surreal and dark imagery, especially ones with religious undertones.
I'm a comic artist and illustrator. I've got a few stories under my belt waiting for their day in the sun but they're on hold while I continue to try to break into the professional art world as a colorist for comics.

You're not required to, but please share a little something about yourself for all of us! I want to get to know you guys and share things heart

Awesome that we have a thread like this now! Drawing/art is probably my favourite hobby! Well, that is, since I'm busy studying now so I can't make it my profession, but I'm really trying to not to let it go even if I have less time nowadays.

I get inspiration from myths, stories, music/lyrics and stuff. I have a ridiculous amount of original characters, most of them which are humanoids, humans gods/goddesses/demons and other creatures. My art style is greatly influenced by anime, manga and comics. I know some people have a problem with it if someone says their art is "mangaish", but I can't deny that fact, specially since I like many manga series very much.

If you want to check out my pictures, I have a deviantart: http://hantwolf.deviantart.com/.
I'm trying to get more active again.

I also have a personal art website and OC sketch blog, but they're in Finnish. Well, you can always look at my drawings despite the language barrier, so if you want to check out my gallery or the blog, there you go.

Ahhh, excellent! Thank you for sharing. And yes, please do not ever give it up, especially if you enjoy it. I see way too many creative souls give it up and feel bad about it. Even if you can't devote time all the time, keep doing it when you can if you're having fun and it makes you happy! (:
Your work is cute, I like it!
Also, I understand people tend to have stigma with manga style sometimes, but do what YOU want and what you like! It's for you, not them.

Speaking of art while I'm here, I suppose it's a good time to post up some of my resource hubs. The first is my art ref/witchcraft tumblr. That link is for the general ref tag. Not much in it yet, and then there is the techniques section, which has mostly tutorials and how to do certain effects digitally. since that's 98% art related so we can filter out the tarot and other stuff sweatdrop
I don't always get in new content, but I do update it somewhat regularly.
It's mostly drawing references, tips and tricks for drawing buildings and perspective, and color and color techniques. The other tag is my character design ref tag

I also have a pintrest board for resources which is here
Other boards on my pintrest include things that inspire me, artists i take inspiration from, and mood boards for some of my characters and stories.

I bake, draw, and do photography.
Honestly it's been a while since I've done any of that though. I also write.

I'll photograph anything pretty much. As for drawing, I draw tattoo designs and anthros/furries.

I do writing from time to time, but that's coming back in spades now.

There's a DeviantArt that has yet to be dusted off once more.

I draw, paint, cook, write, and I'm trying to dip into animation right now. I'm mostly self-taught but I did spend a bit of time at art school a few years back, before I was kicked out for my really bad mental health. I don't really have a lot of examples of my work on hand to show (also I'm very anxious about showing people my work).

Most of my drawing and writing is comics and storyboarding stuff as of right now, but I also use it as a Dungeon Master, for example drawing maps and writing NPCs and the lore. I also draw and write things about my OCs! My art is mostly influenced by cartoons and comics, and my writing is inspired by various cultures and their mythology. Basically, most of what I do is fantasy-esque and relates to D&D somehow because that's a big source of joy and amusement for me.

Oh man, this thread was created such a long time ago and I haven't been on gaia for a while now but I felt the need to come to this forum and kinda participate for once.

Anyways I feel like this thread is probably the only thread that I feel comfortable participating in so here I am.

I might as well start off by saying something about myself like the others have. So, I've enjoyed creating art since I was very young but never actually took it up as a hobby until a couple years ago. I mostly enjoy doing digital art with my drawing tablet. I seem to always get into an art block and not draw for a month and then start up again which is really frustrating. I plan to go to college to major in illustration and later become a digital art teacher and getting into a slump when I want to become a "professional" artist is extremely annoying.

I also enjoy writing and creating stories. It's somewhat embarrassing to admit but the majority of the time I make my main characters have some of my characteristics because I like to imagine that I am them but they are just a stronger, handsomer, better version of me. Writing can sometimes be my creative outlet and when I get dysphoric creating confident character can be helpful.

The inspiration for both my writing and drawing mostly come from movies or tv shows. Sometimes if I like the cinematography from a movie or tv show recreate it but in my style of drawing on my computer. I like to do a lot of color studies and really bring out the different compositions in a scene to show the depth, perspective, or mood.

So there you go. I just wanted to post this here because I would love to chat with other LGBT+ artists as I haven't met very many.

Hey, that's cool! And I totally understand making characters that end up being versions of yourself. I think at least to some degree everyone does it. I don't think that's so bad (even if it can be embarrassing) especially if you recognize you do it.

Do you have anywhere you have your art posted? Anything to share? :0
