Step 1: The Path Forwards.

The weather's clear, even he can't see the sun because of the Taint covering the skies. What he meant clear was there is no fog or anything like that.

He got enough food that will last him weeks should he limited his meal, that's enough time for the journey.

According to the only book associated with the Lore, the God Chaos was the origin of all things. He does not exist by himself, but rather after he existed the whole reality came to be, then he ceased to exist.

"...what." So this god's death brought the universe to be? Heck, then why did those guys still praised him? Rei can't understand the minds of the people in the lore.

As he's getting more and more absorbed in reading the map detailing the location of said artifact, he blankly tugged the reins, driving both him and the horse to a low-hanging beehive.

Yep. There goes the horse again.

Step 3: The Dwarven Mountains.
As he waded through the Forest, finally the two of them exited into a clear space. Strange.
For a moment he thought the season has turned to Fall due the cold winds blowing...was it his imagination?

After walked for a while, the shivering finally gets to the point it's bothering him, so Rei took out the Mantle he haven't been using (for obvious reasons. It stains easily due being pure (faded) white) and wore it.

As he reached to the reins...
-the horse was not there anymore. He forget to tie it down while he's wearing the Mantle.

Should he chased it? Nah, it'll probably go back to the Forest; he can pick it up when he came back.

He will that regret that decision soon enough.

Step 4: The Mountain Summit

HUZZAH!

Immediately after exiting the tunnel, Rei's face was welcomed by a sting. Cold.
It was white all over. Huh. Somehow he exited at a snowy mountain's peak. He can feel the metal items he has been wearing quickly turned ice-cold, so he unequipped those.

The way leading up here sure was very easy compared to the other artifacts. Strange, since we're talking about the legendary artifact sought fat and wide, even ranking the first from all artifact the King wanted to reclaim from the Shadows---the Greater Wings of Chaos.

He looked around for said item but find nothing else a black spot on an altar...

Wait, black spot isn't right. It was something else...

He walked nearing the strange phenomenon and yelped; it was not a black spot, it was a black SOMETHING.

Something so black that his eyes cannot see the outlines of said object. Even darker than moonless night-ventablack.

He touched the object, feeling the silky, ice-cold feeling at the tips of his hand. This was it.

"I GOT IT!!!" He can't believe it. He actually did got it! The legendary---

*rumble*

"...shoot!" His yelling causes something to trigger. As smaller chunks of snow falls, more and more rumbling noise filled the surroundings.
Avalanche.

"Crap crap crap crap!" He cursed at his own fault, yelling as he grabbed the item and wore it in a flash; legend said should one wears this, you will not be harmed even if you fall from Moon.

Time to test wheter the legend was true or not.

"I'LL HAUNT THE WRITER IF THE TALE WAS FALSE!!!" He jumped from the cliff, barely escaped getting buried by all of those snow,

-but he still falling.

"---MAKE ME FLY YOU STUPID PIECE OF CLOTH---"

As if his yelling 'awakened' the artifact, changes began to happen on it. From what seems like absence of ANYTHING a small dot of light appears. At first there's just one, but after a bright flash there's now COUNTLESS white dots on the garments. From each of those dots feathers of light appeared, flaring up the size of said 'wing'.

Rei is too absorbed with all that phenomenon to notice that he is not falling anymore---he is hovering.
The wings flaps once, twice, before goes unmoving. At that point Rei has already reached the Castle without him knowing, as if he haven't set a feet out of the courtyard.

But the item around his neck confirmed that it was not a dream.

"Oh shoot! The horse!"

-aaand despite our hero's great achievement, he has to explain why he lost his horse. Again.
