Chel was relieved to be away from the prisons. As much fun as jumping out the window would have been (and Chel had been fully prepared to do so), she was happy that the break out had happened when it did. The least amount of risk was usually best, unless the prize was worth it.
Now on her horse and breathing in the air of Camelot, she was pleased to say she was remarkably more confident in regards to her abilities. When she thought back on when she'd first come here, she had been weak, without a weapon, without a cousin. Utterly and completely alone. Now she'd been on enough quests to gain herself a full set of armor. She'd helped fell a great knight. She'd defeated dragons and steves alike. She had even escape a death sentence.
So she didn't really need to go on this quest, but rather she wanted to. She strapped her Claymore to her back (it felt right there, a sword covering up her marks, making them stronger, more pliable).
"C'mon Tenebrae. One last time." She'd heard that this artifact was particularly rare and only the most competent knights were being sent on the quest. It excited her, a little maybe, to think that they considered her reliable.

Chel trailed down the cliffsides, idly stopping to pick wildflowers. There were a few oversized bugs (at least, oversized for her liking), but they were quickly stomped out and destroyed. After that it was all scenic views and beautiful sunrises. She'd woken up extra early for this quest- she still wasn't sure why.
Down the mountain side she went, marveling all the little waterfalls and crevices along the way. There were a few scares here and there, but for the most part it was quiet.
It wasn't until she was at the very entrance of the forest that things went awry. Her claymore banged into a bush (Chel wasn't exactly being mindful or ecologically minded). This scared out a small rodent, which then ran up a tree and (much like a scene out of a movie) knocked over a hornet's nest.
After running to the nearest stream, Chel noticed that her faithful horse had run off. Such was her lot in life, it seemed. She'd have to scavenge for food.

Seeing as there was nowhere else to go except further into the forest, that was where Chel headed. She walked with trepidation, seeing as the events prior had somewhat spooked her. Galahad, Mordred, Morgana, the sidhe ... so much had changed from the innocent and noble quest of eliminating darkness (not that Chel had ever ascribed to the noble ideals, but that was a point to elaborate on on a different day).
That, and the mysteries of their missing memories were still abound. The number of people with explanations was dwindling (already down 4, possibly more, Great Knights).
All of this surrounding the greatest mystery of all, the king.
She pondered this as she walked, barely noticing the landscape change from a lush green to a deep black color. The trees were barren and the ground ran sparse with anything short of weeds and a dark ash covered the surface. The wildlife from earlier had ceased to exist, and the sky itself seemed to split down the center, a thin white line of sunlight separating the bleak nothingness. The cave somehow managed to be even darker than its surroundings. The black hole opened up and swallowed her whole.
Inside was nothing but a pitch darkness. She carried on in silence, in darkness.QUEST STATUS Food remaining: 12 YOUR HP: 40/50

She walked for what seemed like ages. Eventually a small light appeared at the end of the cave. She thought maybe this was her death, but it actually wasn't.
Once she got closer she realized it wasn't a light, but a tiny white glowing object. A singular feather, that when touched illuminated her backside.
