The sun was shinning brightly the temperature was comfortable enough to be waring short sleeves and Chailee was free from school for the rest of the day. Not a bad combination in the freshman's mind. So, wanting a change of pace she called her parents to let them know she would be home later and set out for the park with her flute safely tucked in its' small black case at her side. With how nice out it was it wasn't at all surprising to see so many people out and about enjoying the weather. The park seemed so busy now. Lately she had only visited the park when on patrol as it had been too chilly to just lounge around outside and compared to the desolate nature of the park at night, the place felt packed to Chailee. None-the-less she snaked her way along the paths, enjoying the fresh scent of blooming flowers that were strategically placed along the way. Finding a small bench just off the main path that was overlooked by a large willow tree with newly emerged leaves, Chailee parked herself there and sighed contently. "As much as I love snow, I really missed being outside like this." She mused. Opening the case for her flute she quickly put the instrument together before snapping the case closed again and laying the silver flute along her lap as she leaned back on the bench with her eyes closed enjoying the atmosphere of the lightly rustling leaves and people talking as they meandered by.

Ivy herself was lounging on a bench, head tilted back to catch the sunrays, something that might have been a small-scale depiction of a cat in one hand and a pencil in the other. Well. And a notebook sitting on her backpack, which was to her side, but that wasn't immediately important; why waste a fine day like this? She could almost fall asleep. Almost. When Ivy's eyelids started to droop downwards, she took the pencil and drew a long line down her arm pushing hard enough to irritate skin, and in the process of moving managed to almost throw the now sun-hardened clay with an unconscious flick of the hand. It wasn't too wet, at least, and reasonably dry too? But she really, really didn't want to have to try and redo that, the tiny details on things the size of a chess piece tended to take longer than one would think; so Ivy gave a startled yelp as she realized - just the slightest bit too slowly - she had just thrown dry, dusty clay at one of her classmates. Tonight wasn't going to be patrol time. Tonight was going to be 'Ivy sits around and thinks about all her mistakes that she made today' time.

Chailee was happily enjoying the warmth of the suns rays filtering through the tree's weeping boughs. The sound of the birds chirping was very calming and the entire ambiance soothed her. What the poor girl hadn't been counting on was the sensation of something hitting her arm and that something not feeling all that pleasant. With a squeak she jumped and fumbled with her instrument that almost toppled from her lap as she tried to brush off and, at the same time, evaluate whatever it was that had hit her. Having managed to save her flute from tumbling unceremoniously to the ground, Chay was able to look at the blob that was not sitting on the bench beside her after her mad attempts to brush it off. "What the..." A faded dusty spot marked her arm where the clay hit her and she carefully brushed it off as she looked around herself to see where in the world it had come from before her eyes landed on one of her classmates and the small sculpture that was being worked on. "Uh...did you?" She looked questioningly at the girl.

Ivy's face was in her hands, and what could be seen of it, which wasn't much, was flushed pink in embarrassment. "...Yes, oh my gosh, I'm so sorry. It didn't mess anything up, did it? I'm so sorry, I just let go, I didn't mean to -" then she looked up, brushed hair out of her face, and attempted to smile. "Sorry about that...you're Chailee, right? I've seen you around. Aren't we in the same science class?" Ivy stood up, dropping her pencil in the process, and kind of stood like she didn't know what to do with her limbs. "I'm really sorry I threw clay at you...it was an accident, I promise."

"No, no it's alright. Nothing's ruined or anything. I just had a mark on my arm but it's off now, see?" She showed the girl where she had rubbed the offending clay from and all that remained was a slight red mark that was quickly fading. "I am absolutely fine." Chailee smiled to prove her point. "Oh um, yes. I am Chailee." She stopped to ponder the girls name. She wasn't always good at remembering them if she didn't talk to a person much but... "Ivy, right? Yea I think we are. I am two rows over and one back from you." "So." Chay gestured to the clay that Ivy had been working on. "I guess you're big into art? I am rather hopeless at it myself." She laughed. "I can play the flute and sing a bit but I am useless at art class things." Daekie Soooo sorry this took so long. Somehow I missed this tag.

"Oh, um, I'm...I'm glad," Ivy mumbled out, still bright pink. She offered her hand to shake awkwardly, not quite looking Chailee in the eye: over the shoulder, anywhere that wasn't direct visual contact. "You did really good work on that mitochondria project last week, by the way...I thought it was really easy to understand, even if not everyone did. You must be really smart to get things across that easily." A little giggle emerged from her mouth as soon as Chailee mentioned art, and Ivy shook her head, starting to smile. "Playing the flute is really cool, actually; I just sculpt, but I'm not very good...and interpreting is kind of an art, I guess, if you're good at it? But I'm not all that great at drawing and stuff, I have to work with my hands...so singing is really not my thing. Are you in chorus?" A brief pause. "Oh gosh, I'm not interrogating you or anything, I'm sorry...!"

Chailee took the offered hand and gently shook it before smiling encouragingly at the girl. It was obvious that Ivy was unsure of herself and Chay didn't like people feeling awkward around her. So in an attempt to ease the situation Chay continued the conversation. "Oh thanks! I mean, I am not usually very good at sciencey stuff but I found that project really interesting." Chailee looked at the girl in surprise. "Just sculpt? I couldn't even imagine trying to sculpt anything. Whatever I tried to make would just look like a big blob and look nothing like whatever I was trying to make. Unless a blob was my object." She winked with a smile. "And no, I am not in chorus. I am too busy with other things to add chorus onto my list." Laughing Chailee shook her head." No, it's alright! I don't mind answering questions." She shifted slightly in her seat moving her instrument to sit upon her bag for the time being. "So, what else do you do besides sculpt? Are you part of woodworking or sewing class? Ooooo maybe cooking class? I tried cooking class once but failed miserably. I don't think I'll ever want to try to cook again. My poor cake was charred by the time I got it out of the oven." She blushed a bit of the memory of smoke coming out of the oven and her rushing to pull the ruined chocolate cake out while other students giggled and laughed.
