This was going to be his last quest, or so he hoped. He really did not want to go on one of these ever again. Cress did not want to keep going on these long journeys to get weird knickknacks, risking his sanity to dysentery at every turn. It had been quite an impressive feat that he did not resort in bouts of dysentery as in his fated second quest. Thankfully, this was going to be his last quest. At least until there was some different one available because he did not want to do this ever again. Ever. He was losing his sanity.
It was with a weary heart that he looked in his pouch. There was a decent amount of food which meant that this quest would most likely be a smooth one, at least food wise. There would always be plenty of wild animals with a vendetta against him, of course his horse will be rebellious, and dysentery would always be on the horizon. It was simply the way of quests.

[Step 1]
Cress was on the look out for rabid squirrels. He had been attacked on by the pesky rascals the last two times he had gone on this quest, and he was sure on this last quest, those bastards would not fail to show. He had been attacked by these vicious squirrels more than once, every time the same one. Thinking about it, it was probably the same squirrel every time though for the life of him, Cress did not know what he could have done to have angered it so. He caught sight of the little b*****d on the lower branch of a tree, and letting a cry of victory, he sent his horse off to a trot towards it. No a*****e squirrel was going to get him this time!
But alas, no. He had not paid enough attention on where he was going and lost his footing, falling off of a cliff. He distinctly saw the squirrel give in the middle finger (paw) before scuttling away.

While clutching onto the side of the cliff for dear life, Cress wondered what choices he had made that had lead him to such a dismal situation: that falling off of cliffs and been flicked off by squirrels were nothing new. A single grape slipped from his sack as he pulled himself up. Whatever.

Cress munched on a piece of bread cautiously as he looked around for wild animals. Unfortunately, this did not help much because when the giant spider fell out of the tree and landed on his face, he screamed like a little girl anyway.

[Step 3]
Right. Yes. Walked around the booby traps. No snakes, no swinging axes. This was going alright so far. Sure there were plenty of dead bodies and decaying corpses and skeletons lying around, but that was the usual for the dwarven mountains. Everything was alright...Cress heard a horrific roaring noise coming from behind him. He spun around and there was a terrifying beast that seemed to be made of fire rushing towards him. He immediately ignored determining whether the next step was going to be a booby trap or not and just went running up the path, food falling out of his pack for sharp turn he made. By the time the beast seemed to be no longer behind him, he took a chance to breath. He had lost half of his remaining food.

Cress was finally at the mountain top, perhaps, maybe, hopefully there for the very last time. He had just taken a deep breath and a moment to take in the view one last time, when the eagles came to attack him one last time. He got up from the encounter bruised and battered, went up to the hill, picked up the Greater Tabard of the Griffin and stuffed it into a bag and trudged back to Camelot, thinking that he was done with all this s**t.
