It was with a weary heart that Cress trudged back to the guild master to claim a quest. He was starting to get tired of these quests and the strain that they put on him. It was not that they were particularly dangerous...well, they were. A significant probability of ending up with dysentery. It was just simply the constant repetition of taking the same path out of Camelot, and then dragging himself through the forest, and then up the mountains, and maybe getting attacked by eagles before getting hold of some precious artifact. However, it seemed that there were still artifacts that needed to be retrieved, and Cress was resolved to at least retrieve one of each type before searching for somewhere else he could be useful.
Upon claiming his pack of supplies from the guild master, he looked within. There was startling little food in the sack which was concerning. Could Camelot be running out of food...? This amount would not be able to last him the entire journey if his horse ran off or something. It was worrying. Perhaps he would be luck enough to find some food along the way...no, that would not be good. If he were to, there was also the possibility that what he found were only turnips, and turnips were no good or perhaps what he would find would give him dysentery which he really did not want.

Cress was still concerned over food as he trudged on the path out of Camelot. It would not be that big of a problem, right? He could be lucky and finish the quest quickly on time. He patted his horse. Perhaps if he was nice to his horse, it would not run away from him this time. How would one be nice to a horse though? He had heard of people feeding them, but there was not much food on hand and the whole reason he did not want the horse to run out on him was that he needed all the food he had...How about stroke the horse's main? He ran his fingers through the mane nervously. The horse did not seem to give a sh*t.
It was also at this point in time when the friendly neighborhood rabid squirrel decided to attack Cress's face. It took a while before he could shake it off. Unfortunately, before Cress could kill the little thing (his patience and concern over the conservation of life in this particular animal had long since vanished), the squirrel had scampered off to torture some other unwitting victim.

[Step 2]
Cress was still nursing his wounds gotten from the rabid squirrel as he rode through the forest. At the same time, he was munching a piece of bread. Sure, it was bad to be eating so early, but after his fight (could it really be called a fight?) with the squirrel, he figured that he deserved something to cheer him up a bit. Unfortunately this was a bad idea because a giant spider jumped out at him, and screaming in fright, he lost the precious bread.

Cress was trudging up the mountain like a good little knight. Of course there were dead bodies and remains scattered around and near the path, but at this point, they sort of just blended into the scenery. He had gotten used to the creepiness. It was also at this point that he happened upon a large crate of food. It must have been left by previous knights before. (He had done something similar on a previous quest, but he was not entirely sure if it was a good idea. After all, leaving a crate out in the open like this, it could just get eaten by wild animals.) Nevertheless, he was very thankful for the food.

[Step 4]
It was a wry smile that as Cress reached out for the artifact, he got attacked by eagles. Of course. It seemed like the theme of this adventure was him getting attacked by wild animals. It was shocking that he had not been attacked by snakes in the mountains. Getting up to check out his injuries, he determined that he would be able to make the journey back to Camelot and he picked up the Greater Leggings of the Circini and headed back.
