It had been a while since Falias' patrol route had taken him out in the general vicinity of the library.
Not that he didn't come out this way, on the contrary he dropped by the library a fair deal to drop off library books as Marlin - generally ones for Lisa.
But powered? These days Falias generally spent what time he spent powered up by the park.
He frowned as he walked down a sidewalk recognising it as one that he had run down the night, just over two years ago, that he had first met Camelot and powered up as Falias for the first time.
Camelot had saved his life that night and his life had changed, something that Falias still wasn't sure was necessarily for the better.
And it was still hard to believe that he had had two years of doing this already.
Tonight seemed quiet, no youma or Negaverse agents about...
He frowned as he picked up on the aura - the dark aura stronger than that of his own - half-turning to look behind him as he tried to cast for his source, his green eyes wary.
Looked like he'd been a bit too hasty in assuming that it was quiet.Lithiasaur Hope this works as a start, let me know if anything needs changing :3

Merlinite was taking to his new home rather well. The basement was becoming more and more like an actual living space, and not just a dusty hole he was occupying. He had personalized it to the best of his ability, and it was comfortable.
It was nice.
He felt lucky, honored in many ways, to be able to spend so much time with the White Moon and have them care for him, be friends with him. He was still working on earning that trust, so he could feel like he really deserved all the thought and care they showed to him.
Even if he could never really join them, he could at least help them to the best of his ability.
Camelot was out and about, on his patrol, so Merlinite decided to go out on one of his own. He had to be careful, knowing that both White Moon and Chaos could present themselves as dangers to him, if he let his guard down. He felt an aura and followed it, but realized it had to have sensed him too. It stopped moving, and he hesitated, then moved forward.
"Evening," he said, sticking to the dark spot of the street, for now, but recognizing the knight again. It hadn't been too long since their last meeting, but a lot had changed in that time.

Whilst confident in his ability to deal with those that were of the same aura strength or lower, Falias tended to be wary when the aura in question was stronger than his own.
He had learnt the hard way when a Dark Mirror senshi by the name of Al-Janah had almost killed him almost two years ago back when he was a Page - luck the only reason why he'd managed to escape, rankling though it was.
It didn't mean that he wouldn't give as good as it got should it come to a fight - because he always gave as good as he got - hard not to when his experience of Negaverse agents on the whole was that they tended for the most part attack first.
The aura whoever it was, was coming closer and whilst he kept the wand that was his 'weapon' in his pocket, Falias continued to watch warily.
That was up until a voice spoke from the other side of the street, something familiar about it for all that the person seemed to have decided to stick to the part of the street that was in shadow, the street light that would have illuminated it broken.
"Merlinite?" He didn't hide the puzzlement from his voice as he spoke the name. After all he was pretty sure that that was a General level aura he was sensing - just as he was equally as sure that last time they met the other had been talking about wanting to be a Knight.
Even if said last encounter had been three or so months ago.

"Uh. Yeah. It's me. Okay. Don't freak out, alright?"
He was getting more and more used to the way people, especially those that knew him before the change happened, reacted to him. It did not mean he particularly liked it, but he was able to deal with it well enough. The fact that they flipped out at the sight of him, sometimes, for instance, did not hurt his feelings.
Taking a breath, he stepped forward and moved out to where Falias could see him, standing up to his full height. He had grown a few inches, but that was not the most stark change to him, of course. For that title it was a toss up between his massive claws on both hands and one foot, his long tail, his one wing, or his curled horns.
He was half of a dragon, though he knew that he was not really a noble creature so much as one made mostly of Chaos. He was half of a youma, more than anything else.
"Uh. I mostly go by Dennis now, though."

He wasn't sure what was up with the other's 'Don't freak out' comment, well at least he wasn't right up until the point where the other shifted moving from the shadows into the glow of a nearby lamp post, the light revealing what had - up to now - been kept hidden.
Falias couldn't help himself - he stared, green eyes wide with a mixture of surprised intermixed with horrified shock.
The last time he and Merlinite had crossed paths the other had been Captain to his Squire, but human - most definitely human.
But the General that stood before him looked like he had been somehow spliced with a dragon, hands and one foot replaced with claws, horns, a tail... He even had a solitary dragon wing growing from a shoulder.
It reminded him rather unpleasantly of the youma that had once been a senshi that the Negaverse had left guarding the Fun House where they had taken those that they had kidnapped at the start of the year.
For a moment his green eyes turned wary as he remembered how the youmafied former senshi had attacked them.
Right up until the point where Merlinite mentioned that he mainly went by Dennis...
He couldn't help it, the slight twitch to his lips, because Dennis was kind of an ignoble name for a dragon.

"Uh. So. What's up? You're... looking good..." Merlinite tried, but winced out how stupid and awkward it sounded. What was he doing, flirting? This was a former enemy turned kind of associate who was now very likely to be an enemy again considering Merlinite was even more Chaos than he had been when last they met.
Even if, inside, he still wished he could be a knight.
Dragon would have to be close enough.
"What? You laughing at my name? Look, that was my name before this happened, and I can't power down any more, I've tried, so Dennis is apparently gone. Not that I'm going to go look for my own obituary, I'm sure no one had anything nice to say about me."
He shook his head and shrugged, which made his wing spread a bit. He was, at least, getting much better at controlling his new limbs, and learning how to use them like he was supposed to have them. Mostly because he did not think he'd be rid of them any time soon.

Falias shook his head "No, not at your name" he said, the upturned quirk to his lips fading. "It more the thought that Dennis isn't the name that you'd generally associate with a dragon." Smaug yes. Saphira perhaps - but not Dennis.
He listened as Merlinite - Dennis - continued speaking, waiting until the other had finished speaking before he said "Well you still sound like you to me."
He hadn't meant to come out with it, was somewhat surprised with himself that he'd voiced the thoughts aloud but he didn't take back the words because he had actually meant them.
He wasn't sure what had happened to the now General since they had last crossed paths back when the other had still been a Captain - a Captain that told him that he wanted to be a Knight.
That obviously hadn't happened.
He was staring at the evidence that that hadn't happened, but the other hadn't tried to attack him and words-wise he wasn't sounding any different to how he had on their last meeting.
Falias wasn't sure he had the right to ask though - after all the mutual decision they had taken last time not to fight did not a friendship make - although it was clear that if knighthood had been the other's goal then it had gone very messily wrong.
Instead of asking about it however he said simply, seriously "And I didn't mean to cause offence over your name."
Because he really hadn't.Lithiasaur Sorry this has taken so long, am hoping to tag our other rp relatively soonish

Merlinite smirked a bit and nodded his head. A dragon named Dennis did seem kind of silly, but he supposed he could deal with that. And maybe that was part of the point. He wanted people to not be afraid of him, and a name like Merlinite was too bogged down by being a part of the Negaverse to do him any good now.
He was not a part of Chaos, even if it had corrupted his body and his starseed. As far as he was concerned, he was White Moon.
As long as he could resist the darkness inside him, at least.
"Nah, don't worry about it. I get the whole being weirded out thing. It's not every day you run into a youma you can actually talk to, right? But uh. I'm not like the usual ones. I don't even want to be a youma or a nega any more, but no one really knows if I can still purify. Camelot doesn't want to try because it might break my starseed."
While he understood the concern, it did make him feel a bit depressed. Stuck. Until they found out more, he was pretty much stuck in limbo.

For the second time that evening, Falias found his lips quirking up again "Yeah" he agreed. "Youma generally aren't the talkative sort." The upturned quirk faded as he once again remembered the once senshi that the Negaverse had set to guarding the 'Fun House' where they had taken those that they had kidnapped during the New Year's Eve ball fiasco, his voice serious as he added "Present company excepted."
From Merlinite's - no he mentally reminded himself Dennis' - next words it seemed that the other had taken his suggestion to speak to Camelot, even though it seemed that the Royal Knight hadn't been able to find a way.
Well make that hadn't been able to find a way yet.
"Well if anyone can find a way" he offered at last "It will be Camelot." It was something he was certain of, the words spoken without hesitation.
He was pretty sure that the older man would try to look for a way too, his experience of the Royal Knight suggesting he was just that kind of man.Lithiasaur sorry for the delay with this Lithia

Merlinite smiled and nodded his head. He had the same feeling, really, that if someone was going to help him get rid of this chaos inside him, it had to be Camelot. He was happy to wait, but it did worry him.
The longer he had a starseed broken by Chaos, the more exposed to that Chaos he became, right? He was worried that it would consume him before they had a chance to fix him.
And that would be the worst possible outcome.
"Well uh. Are you patrolling? I can help you, if you want. I mean. I'm not much help sometimes, because my aura can maybe get in the way, but I'm trying to help the white moon so uh. If you needed a youma with you..."
He offered a toothy grin, scratching the back of his own neck lightly with his claws and looking a bit goofy, despite himself. He had never been the sort to let his emotions get the better of him, and he certainly would not have tolerated looking like an idiot when he was his civilian self.
But that was not a problem for him, any more. He had no civilian life. This half monster, half nega derp with a white moon soul was what they had now.

Falias considered Merlinite's - no Dennis' - offer for a moment.
Part of the reason why he had come out this way rather than to his usual 'patrol' haunt of the park ironically was to try and see if he could track down Sarras as he had promised Hvergelmir he would...
And whilst he personally didn't mind Dennis coming along - and wasn't that strange given how their initial encounters had gone down - he also didn't think that it would go down well if he managed to track down Sarras and turned up with a half youma General in tow.
Actually given that it was Sarras it was almost a certainty that it wouldn't go down well and given that his agreement was Hvergelmir was already a bad enough idea as is, it was probably not a good idea to add to it.
So he shook his head "I'm... I'm trying to find someone" he said. "And whilst I'm not sure how he'd take it if I turned up with you, I don't think it would go well."
He hesitated and then perhaps it was of the other's goofiness that was so different to the cockiness that he'd come to associate with the other - or perhaps it was pity - or perhaps a bit of both. Either way however he found himself offering "But if you're okay with taking a rain check then I generally patrol over in the park and I'd be okay with some company?" He made it a question - left the offer open.

"Ah, I can get that. No worries. Not many folks are ready to see a half dragon, even one that promises it's nice. I don't want to spook anyone. Trying to do the whole... new leaf thing."
And that meant being respectful of others, and doing his best to know his boundaries. They were all new and strange these days, but he was learning what he could do and what was off limits now.
It had not occurred to him to try and power up: to focus on the General side of him instead of the civilian side. Maybe if it had, he would notice he could pass a normal Negaverse soldier, at the very least, for a limited time a day. Instead, he had tried to power down to his civilian self.
That had been fruitless.
"But I'll definitely meet up with you another time, and uh... make up for some of those fights. Okay, well, if you're looking for someone I shouldn't keep you too long, right? I'll be around. I'm usually at the library."

Falias nodded at Dennis' mention that he tended to be tthe library and mentally filled the fact away, although he assumed that the other tended to be in the vicinity of the library rather than literally at the library...
Because even though he couldn't help but feel sorry for the other and despite Merlinite Dennis' current friendliness - a half dragon at the library was just a little too much on the wrong side of the strangeness meter.
Instead he nodded again, this time at the other's 'I'll be around'comment.
"I guess I'll see you around then" he said instead before making a move to continue on with his paused patrol, a part of him knowing as he did so that tonight's meeting had left him with things to think on.

Merlinite nodded and watched the other head off, then moved to return the way he had come, so as not to scare anyone else tonight. At least that meeting had gone fairly well, and he actually felt pretty good for getting a chance to talk to someone he had... not had the best relationship with, all told.
He was not out there to apologize to every senshi or knight he had ever attacked, but it did feel surprisingly nice to be able to at least try to smooth the waters a bit.
Taking off into a run, he hurried back toward the library, hoping tonight would be one of the nights when Camelot brought by some of the extra meals his wife cooked. They were also so good, and the best when they were still warm.
