Today seemed like a perfectly fine day for traveling. She was anxious to find the pretty girl she'd lost to the avalanche earlier, but there was questing to be done and if anyone was going to do questing, Chel was the girl to do it.
She had an uncanny knack for forgetting everyone completely when she had her own wants and needs.
Seeing as her horse was being more reasonable today, she read through the quest ledger at a considerably lazier pace than usual. Apparently they were headed somewhere very snowy and cold. Chel didn't have any other armor, just the bits and fragments she'd been picking up across the world. Yes she looked badass, no she wasn't nearly warm enough.
"Guess we'll have to cuddle up," she told the horse, chewing over the information slowly. "Maybe find us a cute girl to cozy up to."QUEST STATUS Food remaining: 32 YOUR HP: 30/30

Her horse absolutely didn't like this idea. He was completely ridiculous the whole time, huffing in annoyance and trotting even slower than his usual pace just to annoy her. Chel didn't think much of it, too blissful in her endeavors.
It wasn't until she saw snow in the horizon that she really started to panic. What if she froze? What if she died in the tundra abyss and never learned the truth about her memories? Never got the answers for her questions?
Such introspection would have to wait, because suddenly there were bees everywhere. Chel tried to fend them off, but got a few stings along the way. Her horse was nowhere to be seen, and with the snow drawing closer she was just more and more screwed by the minute.
"What an excellent start."QUEST STATUS Food remaining: 32 YOUR HP: 30/30

Chel thought about the girl once again. She couldn't help it- Chel had an absolute weakness for cute, soft things. She yearned to hear that cute voice again, and couldn't help but be a little charmed by the girl's adventuresome, if not reckless spirit.
Maybe it was part of her that was trying to fill the void left by her memories (after all, the best way to fill a hole made of missing memories is to shove it full of new memories), maybe Abbi was genuinely interesting. Either way, she felt uneasy knowing the girl was buried under snow somewhere. Not worried, certainly- Chel could never be assed to really care about anyone (except- no, wait nevermind) and certainly wouldn't start with a dame she'd just met.
But it was still something to think about.
The forest wasn't so much a forest as it was a few oak stands with hard snow packed in between roots and leaves. Chel decided to keep moving. She didn't want to stay still too long, for fear of freezing to death.QUEST STATUS Food remaining: 27 YOUR HP: 30/30

Chel was more than relieved (she was exuberant, excited, jubilant, dazed) to find a cave. It wasn't warm by any means (after all, it was still damp and dark and caveish), but it was warmer than outside and it had the means of survival buried in it.
Chel found a box of food and ravenously dug into it. She was more animal than person at the moment, and the food was rejuvenating her strength by the second. She even felt good enough to gather wood from the oaken stands, which she then fastened into a teepee to make a fire. It was warm, warm fire and it was beautiful.
She looked outside the cave, and deeper in the cave and very much wanted to not move. She wanted to end it all, dispare, hopelessness. No matter how much the king rallied his people, there was a strong feeling in her bones that it was all for naught. She preferred to stay by the fire, lazily warming her bones on the damp wood and trying to ignore the rest of the world.
Eventually though something needed to be done about the artifact. She had to return back to Camelot (really would anyone notice if she went missing? Wouldn't she just be another body clenched around a food crate?) and that meant finding her prize and leaving. QUEST STATUS Food remaining: 27 YOUR HP: 30/30

Deeper inside the cave Chel found a beautiful helmet inlaid with golden and silver steel, carved and embossed in gems and other precious materials. It was the satisfying kind of reward that needed to be had after such an annoying, tiring journey.
"It's dangerous to go alone, take this!"
"WHAT THE ********>."
