Chel admittedly would not stop staring at Abbi while she absently loaded up her food onto her horse. It was so bad that she actually tied the loops wrong and the saddlebag fell off. She couldn't even be bothered noticing the fallen bag, as Abbi was too much of a focus.
Maybe Chel looked angry or annoyed at first, but when she opened her mouth what came out was, "You are crazy pretty, lady."

After a successful mission, battling a few shadows, and then returning to heal more knights in the Great Hall, Abbi was feeling pretty good about herself. She'd gotten in a short nap and was in good spirits, all things considered. Due to this she was quite cheery, smiling as she pulled the blonde pony from its stable and humming as she gave it a good brushing.
She was just about to start collecting food when someone spoke. It was then that Abbi realized that the woman she noticed hovering nearby had, despite what the girl had told herself, actually been staring at her.
"Oh!" The teen jumped uncertainly, not at all sure what to do with the comment. "Ah, um, well thank you! But I-I would not say I am as beautiful as you, but I... Thank you." This was embarrassing not only because she didn't know what to say, and had thus grabbed a wayward braid to twist between her fingers for something to focus on, but also because no seriously this lady was super gorgeous and she thought Abbi was pretty what no that was crazy.

"s**t, she's smooth as ******** too," Chel said with a lecherous grin. The forgotten saddlebag was now noticed and Chel reached down, picking it up and tying it in it's proper place.
Sauntering over to the smaller knight, Chel put a hand on her shoulder. "Then we're both pretty." She twirled one of Abbi's wavy locks around one finger and then let the finger slide out, moving back to her horse to saddle up.

Since it would have been very unladylike to sputter, Abbi managed not to, but that didn't mean it kept her from going a very bright shade of red. As the lady knight approached Abbi tried to back up, but found herself trapped between horse and knight and could only stammer a babbly, bubbly, "Yes indeed!".
The hair the fellow knight toys with is captured in Abbi's grasp once free, and she hastens to stuff her bag full of food as means of distraction.
"O-oh? Are you... Questing too?" Obviously, or she wouldn't have asked if Abbi was ready. She made fast work of tying the food bag to her horse, using it partially as a way to hide from the other knight who was very pretty but had called her pretty and goodness this was making Abbi very flustered. She'd never been doted on like this! At least, not that she could remember, which honestly, wasn't much. But it felt like she hadn't...
"Might I know your name? I am Abbi!" She dipped into a quick curtsey before she followed the woman out, glancing shyly at her over her horse's back.

"Yes, and now we are questin' together," she said smoothly, giving her horse's reins a light flick to set them off at a gentle pace. She wanted as much time with this new dame as possible, so she took it slow and rode out of the city and a delivberately pleasant pace.
She watched Abbi carefully, a predator in her element. Abbi was so transparently shy that Chel couldn't help but tilt her head to the side and admire the naivety. In her mind she curses, ah not again, but outwardly she says, "Where to my pretty lady?"

Happy to follow at this sedate pace, Abbi set off too, doing her best to avoid the mysterious lady knight's gaze.
"Off to find treasures, obviously!" She couldn't help the small giggle that slipped by, passing a hand over her mouth quickly before she gestured at the woman. "And if you will not give me your name, I'll make one up for you... Let me see... You have such lovely hair, I suppose something like Sunshine or The Gilded Lady might fit?"
Apparently Abbi's horse had had enough of these indecent flirtations, or maybe it was the nest of bees that Abbi lead it over, but either way it was out. Though the girl grabbed after it, the horse turned tail and noped out of there.
A noise of woe left her and she turned toward the taller knight with a clearly apologetic and worried face.
"I am so sorry! I have made this much harder than it ought to be, I... I should find a new pony. That one is... Dreadfully unhelpful."

Chel looked away when Abbi giggled because <********> that was cute. Chel had such a weakness for small, soft girls. She didn't know why it was such an achille's heel for her, but it was and she was doomed.
"My name is Chel," she said, putting a hand to her mouth to hide her laugh. "But you may call me anythin' you'd like."
When the apologies about the horse game, Chel merely picked the girl up, placed her on her own horse, and then saddled up behind her. "It's more comfortable this way, isn't it?"

The forest was certainly romantic what with all the creepy spiders, dark lighting and freaky noises. Chel's grip on the reigns was a little too tight, and even when they stopped for water Chel was on edge and unnerved.
Even the horse decided the noises were too much and flat out left them. Chel did nothing except laugh and say, "What a ********' coward. Guess we're walkin'."QUEST STATUS Food remaining: 43 YOUR HP: 30/30

"Chel? That is lovely!" The girl beamed at her new friend, laughing a moment later when she was informed of her privilege. "Well, I will not call you anything you like simply because that is not a very good name." And that was not a very good joke, but its what she has at her disposal, though she will never admit she is trying to impress this lovely knight. Mostly because terrible jokes are not the way to go, and the rest because Abbi simply has nothing else to impress her with.
All those thoughts are forgotten when she is swept up onto Chel's horse, flushing again but grinning brightly.
"The view is much better up here too."

The ride, though nice, isn't something Abbi wants to employ the entire trip and once they enter the forest proper, she descends to walk alongside it and the Lady Chel. Her steps are just the slightest bit slower than both fellow knight and horse so that the smaller girl hangs back a little, her gaze cautiously watching their rear for anything sinister.
They stop for water, and being the curious thing she is, Abbi wanders along the creek's edge for a bit only to stumble upon a neatly wrapped pack. She picks it up and begins to untie it when there is a rustle nearby and the horse rushes off, abandoning them entirely.
"Walking is... Not so bad, I suppose." She offers helpfully before she rushes back to Chel and presents her findings, bouncing on her toes. "Look, look! Someone left some food behind! It doesn't look moldy at all, it looks wonderful! Things are not so bad, after all!" She grinned at the woman, practically sparkling with their good fortune.

Chel smiled gently and said, "Just be sure to really look over the food before you eat it. Wouldn't want you to get a royal stomachache, no?"
She vaguely commented internally about the dysentary epidemic, but said nothing because that seemed like the absolute worst conversation to bring up with such a dainty lady.

Upon reaching the cave entrance (a wonderful thing, shaped like a large woman with six arms who's hands opened up the entrance), Chel immediately routed herself to a sort of treasure chest that sat wrapped within a skeleton's arms.
Since she didn't possess a single dainty bone in her body, Chel ripped the thing from it's arms and kicked it open shortly after. Inside was extra food. ******** yeah.
Chel looked to the cave and back to Abbi. Somewhat unsure, she said, "You think you can handle this?"QUEST STATUS Food remaining: 42 YOUR HP: 30/30

They were definitely not going to talk about dysentary, kthxbai.
The view of the cave immediately captured Abbi's attention, enough so that she stood before it and gazed up at it in wonder, mouth slightly agape and an awed sort of look in her features. It was so massive and lovely and obviously crafted with care! If they had had the time she would have loved to explore it more fully and more carefully, she even wished she could return to the Guild Master and ask for more information on it, promising herself to do so when they returned to the castle.
A crunching sound brought her back to the present and she tip toed after Chel, stopping short when she saw the skeleton. That was... Not so nice...
Immediately ruffled by Chel's comment the girl drew herself to her full, if somewhat small, height and did what she could to look determined and in control.
"Of course! I am a knight sworn to Percival, vowed to protect those who could not protect themselves and defend all who seek help and even to those who do not! I am most definitely capable of handling this!"
To further her point she sauntered into the cave and right into a pit of snakes.
The scream she let loose was mostly scared, but also a bit pitiful because really? Right after her great speech?

Chel couldn't help but roll her eyes at the whole "protect the innocent" gag. Chel protected one person and one person only: herself. No bullshit knight's code was going to change that, nor was any fancy king on his big fancy throne.
She at least admired that Abbi was willing to keep up. Chel had a thing for dainty but she couldn't stand helpless.
Which was maybe a little ironic considering the position Abbi was now in. "Stay calm, little lady," Chel said assuredly, judging the pit's distance and the position of the snakes. With a mighty leap, Chel fell into the pit and brandished her spear. Just because she was self-serving didn't mean she was heartless. She'd choose her life over Abbi yes, but that was no reason to leave a girl to die when there was something she could do to help.
It only took a few quick swipes and the snakes were felled. Chel strapped the swordstaff back onto her backside and grunted at Abbi to follow. There was a small wall of vines up the side of the pit, and Chel was already climbing them out.

So the snakes had been really super scary, but Abbi had at least been equipped with a pole-arm weapon and though she was doing her best to vacate herself from their pit, she wasn't going to go down that easy. She swung a few times, whimpering a little as they kept coming.
The arrival of Chel was met with first relief and then with guilt for having been so silly and such a failure.
Once all the slithering bodies were stilled, Abbi followed in silence, quick to set herself on the path of up and out. She kept pace with Chel as they climbed, her adrenaline still high enough to make her movements smooth and quick, though she ached a little once she'd crested the edge of the pit from pushing herself so much.
"I... I am sorry I-- That you-- I should have been more careful I just-- You are very kind-- I am sorry." None of her thoughts wanted to coalesce into any actual sentences, so Abbi settled on the poorly strung together beginning of ideas and frowned at the ground.
"I would understand if you wanted to continue on without me, I will only slow you down." It was the least she could do after bringing such misfortunate to the beautiful knight she'd befriended.

Chel laughed a hearty laugh. "Well there's no need to be so dramatic darlin'." She had absolutely zero shielding for that sort of shy, bashful behavior. "Ain't nobody leavin' you behind and y'did fine."
She still didn't look back, being focused on climbing up the vines. Once she was out of the pit, she noticed a shining object in the distance. "Especially when we're so close to our prize~"

Once again the girl ruffled, flustered and flushing, as she followed Chel away from the pit.
Of course she was going to be dramatic! This was very serious business, questing was not to be taken lightly, and she had been so unhelpful this entire time! First her horse ran off, and yes Chel's horse had fled too, but Abbi had fallen into a pit of snakes and needed rescuing and just-- No it wasn't fair-- How dare she be so nonchalant-- Was that something shiny?
Before Abbi could get too close she felt ill at ease, something wrong and uncertain rumbling in her stomach. She fell back to wait out the feeling, frowning at the ground for a bit.
