Stage: Prentice
Race: Pure-blooded, Water
Gender: Male
3 Base Traits: Laid-back / Charismatic / Procrastinator
Personality: Despite Nika's troubled history he has adopted a more or less laid-back attitude as far as life is concerned. When he's not working for the troupe he can be found laying about in a hammock or even just on the ground (depending on where they are at the time). For the most part, Nika is a happy person and exudes this to other people. This allows him to easily make friends, whether he wants to or not.
There is just something about the way he carries himself (he's very confident), that attracts others to him. He's never wanted for companionship and has always easily snagged his intended up. Though he doesn't always keep them close (and most times others are alright with this).
At times, others can overwhelm him and cause him to retreat. These are the rare times where he wants to be left alone to think to himself. These are the times where reality settles in and he'd rather be anywhere but where he currently is.
Nika also has a problem with getting his tasks done. He'd much rather nap than do hard labor and sometimes this interferes with the chores he is set to within the troupe. He has been known to get into trouble on more than one occasion, making his job ten times worse than what it would have been had he not been lazy to begin with. Nika doesn't stress, or at least tries not to, and most times he's alright with ending up with that heavy burden. Though, other times, he tries to use his charm to pass it off to another boy that's smitten with him.
Description:

I'm not sure how accurate the skin reference is as the amount of water characters without shirts are few and the ones that don't have shirts on are done in a different style than all the rest. So I kind of just guessed (and got lazy with the back view) and you may ignore it if it's wrong.
For a more detailed idea of his hair...the color is mainly black with the other blues/greens mixed in there light highlights and streaks you might get in a salon. It colors aren't right for those, they are free to be changed to something more suitable.
Clothing: Nika's style is that of a lot of other gypsy folks --- loose, flowy, lots of trinkets, etc. I have a few inspiration pieces (though not in the right color scheme, of course).
Pants
piece over pants (instead of what's on the pants ref)
hair wrap thing
"shirt"/chest jewelry...idek xD
He doesn't particularly like to wear shoes, so he's almost always barefoot.
Accessories: Always has this necklace on...even if there are other things around his neck/on his chest/whatever else. It's *always* there.
History:
Originally from Baun, Nikaio's life was a pretty easy one. They didn't have copious amounts of money but what his parents did make was enough to sustain their growing family with a little left over for a few amenities. Nikaio's mother worked as a jeweler, using precious stones found in Matori to create her pieces. His father was a well known healer and scholar of the village.
At the age of six summers, Nika had an older brother (age 9) and a sister on the way. By the time of Nika's seventh birthday, his sister had been born. His mother recovered soon after the birth, up and going in a timely fashion. And it seemed as each day went by, things slowly returned to normal. Or as normal as having an infant sister could be.
Several months went by before anything exciting happened. Though it wasn't a good kind of exciting. Nikaio was woken up in the middle of the night and dragged from his bed by a panicked father. Loud noises could be heard all around him and it took his brain a while to process that it was screaming he was hearing. And various other sounds. He had frantically searched for his mother and sister as his father had dragged him out of the house and through alleyways. All the while he was tugging and asking where everyone else was and asking about what was going on.
Soon they joined his brother on the outskirts of town and they slipped away, unseen and without his mother or sister in tow. Nika retreated in on himself for a long time after that, refusing to talk to those around him. And there was always at least someone else traveling with them. His father had said they were going to meet up with some old friends in Tale. Those friends, it turned out, were a gypsy troupe made up of all different races but, clearly, lead by a water earthling male.
It is several months later, after what would have been his sister's first birthday, before Nika starts coming out of his shell again. The process is slow but with the help of those of the troupe, he finds himself again. His family, or at least the part that escaped, have integrated themselves into the troupe effortlessly. Nika still, to this day, does not know what became of his mother or sister and isn't sure he will ever really find out.
