Briella hadn't seen Dyakida since coming back. It wasn't that she was avoiding her, it was just that she hadn't gotten around to it. Plus they were never at the same place, but now that Briella realized that she hadn't seen her favorite sister she was going to hunt Dyakida down.
She headed towards where they had lived before the war, hoping that Dyakida still lived there. She knew that her sister was a live and well, that much she had gathered from others when she asked, but she didn't know much more then that. Was she alone, or had she found someone else to live with?

Dyakida relaxed at the roots of her home tree, her hands wrapped in loose lotion-coated gauze as she drank a magic-cooled mug of fruit juice. She was taking a well-earned break, resting her hands, her body, and her soul after a long morning of crafting. The nerves of her hands still jangled from all the carving work, and the lotion was there to ease them and keep her hands soft and pliable – Dyakida's hands were everything to her, after all. She had to take care of them.
Peyla chattered nearby, telling Dyakida whatever she felt the spritely need to tell her. Suddenly, she stopped, her ears perking up at the sound of footsteps. She chimed, surprised. She knew that person!
”Peyla?” Dyakida pushed herself languidly into a more upright position, ”What is it?”

Amadi flew ahead of Briella, and straight to Peyla. The two of them had been at odds for a long time but he hadn't seen her in a while so he was happy to do so. He grabbed her hands, flying a little circle as he chattered happily.
Briella was close behind him, laughing. "I'm home sister. Peyla must have heard me, or maybe she was just happy to see Amadi once again." she said shaking her head. She saw that Dyakida had been working and was curious to see how her talent had improved since she left.

Dyakida half-rose in surprise at the voice – one she had thought she would never hear again. Could it be? Could it really, truly, be possible? She broke into a loud, sudden laugh. ”Somehow, I doubt that it was Amadi she was happy to see!” she grinned broadly, ”Briella! My dear friend...” she greeted, holding her arms out in the general direction of the voice, her delight and relief evident, ”You've returned!”It couldn't be... but it was, and Peyla's feelings were very mixed as Amadi proceeded to dance with her. She pouted but, perhaps, she secretly was happy to see her nemesis return. He had made her life so interesting, after all. So, she let him dance and chatter, flying in a circle with him as she pretended not to be smiling...

She laughed as she pulled Dyakida into a hug. "Of course she was, it must have been boring for her without him. No one to mess everything up." she shook her head. The pair of them had always been amusing to watch. "Yes, I'm sorry I left so quickly and without word. I was worried for Ilyra... However I found her and as soon as she was well I returned." she released Dyakida, looking happily at one of her longest friends.
---
She was happy, he could tell, she was just pretending to not be happy. "Now that we are home we shall never leave!" he chattered happily. He knew that that wasn't the case, but still he hoped it would get on her nerves a little.

Normally Dyakida did not do hugs well, but for Briella she made an exception. Dyakida's hand remained on Briella as they pulled away, 'looking' at her in the only way Dyakida could. She ran her hand over Briella's face, her arms, her hands, her shoulder. ”You've grown...” Dyakida said, almost a little sadly. And she had – the adventure she had had, had changed her in body and likely in mind. She was a little stronger, a little gaunter, a little prouder, a little more humble (perhaps).
Her inspection not complete, but complete for the time being, Dyakida gestured to the tree. ”Please, Brie... Sit and tell me about your adventure?” Dyakida had no adventures, not really. This suited her fine, especially since the closest thing to an adventure that she had had was being captured by the Obans and that was not something she wanted to repeat. ”Tell me of Ilyra? We have all missed you...” she said. All right, fine, she was having fun but she'd never show him that! She fought to take the lead in their dance, just to show him. If she got maybe a little close to the black-marked sprite, who cared, right? Right?
She grimaced when he said that he was never leaving. [Not if I can help it!] she chimed back, sticking her tongue out at him, [Where were you, anyway?! Everybody was worried about your Alkidike.] she smirked, [Nobody was worried about you, by the way.]

She stayed still as Dyakida ran her hands along her. It felt good to have a familiar touch on her skin. "As have you, it seems time stops for no one." she said laying a hand on her sisters shoulder. Oh it seemed like just yesterday the two of them were leaving home with the others. However it had been years since then, and so much had happened.
She moved to sit, guiding Dyakida so she could sit next to her. "I've missed everyone too, especially you. Ilyra does as well, she's off to find her girlfriend but promises to stop by when she can." young love, she only hoped that Ilyra would find things as she had left them.
"It was horrible Dyakida. I traveled so far, and fought so many times. I thought I would be done after the war, but it seems Aisha had other plans for me. Some Oban's had taken her during the war, an she was in a coma when I found her. It took a while for her to wake and even longer for her to be well enough to travel. And you? What have you been doing since I've been gone?"
--- He let her take the lead, not minding one bit. He was so happy to be home that she could get away with anything at that moment.
"Ha! You don't scare me!" he said with laughter as he stuck his tongue out at her. "Mine had went to go get her little one." Well Ilyra wasn't little anymore, but he still considered her such. "Oh please, you know you were SUPER worried about me"

Obans had taken Ilyra?! Dyakida could not repress a shudder. She knew their hospitality well. ”Well. Aside from the war.” she said, ”Very little of note that is not crafting... and this new war that appears to be on the horizon.” She shook her head in distaste, ”I do not think that any of us are done fighting. Not yet.” her hand found Briella's, and she held it. ”I hope for her sake that things work out. After such an ordeal, She deserves it... Though I believe that Tahigwa, her girlfriend, has had children? I've not met them, but... Mmm... I hope it works out well.” she said again.
”What of your love, Briella? The Mystic, Kadriye?” she asked.[Was not.] Well, maybe a little bit, but Peyla would never tell that to him. [Yours is too sensible to go gallavanting off without telling anybody. Clearly, that was your doing.] She dipped him in midair, playfully.

She frowned at the mention of the war on the horizon. She had tired her best not to think about it as much as she could, but it seemed to be following her everywhere. She wished what Dyakida said wasn't true, but she knew that wasn't the case. She squeezed the other girls hand. "At least war is good for business." she attempted to joke.
At hearing that Tahigwa had children Briella frowned. Had she found someone new while Ilyra was gone? She hoped not for her daughters sake.
She smiled at Kadriye's name. "We are good, I went to see her. She had much more free time now that there is another mystic."
--- He returned her dip by twirling her. "No! She had to save her little one. I just went and helped her. I helped a lot." he said puffing out his chest. He had helped some, that was true, but he might be exaggerating it a little.

”Hmm.” Dyakida may have made that joke herself, once. Now, though... Now she knew that war was good for no ones business, hers or her customers, though one hoped that her business saved lives. As it took them.
She squeezed Briella's hand in return, deciding to say nothing. This was a joyous reunion, not a time for depressing thoughts and philosophies. Her sister was back, and, though she was as impossible for Dyakida to romance as she had ever been, she was a welcome piece of the past, that hopefully would be a part of the present and the future.
”Yes, I heard of that.” Dyakida said, ”I hear that the new mystic is unusual looking.” she managed to force out a chuckle at her own joke. ”You both deserve your time together, after so long away...” and so many dangers ”So I am grateful you took some of that time for me.” Though, she did feel she deserved some portion of Briella's time herself. ”What of Kaalnia? Have you seen her yet?” Peyla squealed in delight and immediately tried to hide it. She gave up on hiding it. This was fun, after all, and she couldn't help it. [I helped too!] she insisted haughtily puffing out her chest too, [I helped my Alkidike a lot!] she gave him an incredulous look. [What did you do to help] she asked curiously.

She nodded. "Yes, she is different like Ilyra. I urged Ilyra to meet up with her sometime. I feel like having another that is both pure and different like her will help her." her daughter didn't struggle with her identity as much as she once did, but it was still a soft spot for the girl.
"Dya you are my oldest remaining friend, you deserve all the time in the world of mine." she said as she ran her hand down Dyakida's arm. She was the one that had stuck by Briella's side through it all. She had even been like a second mother to Ilyra.
"No I have not seen my sister. Have you? I hope she hasn't gotten herself into much trouble while I was away."
---
"How did you help?" He asked curiously. "I helped by finding her little one. I also helped fight off bad guys." He puffed out his chest, he had helped a lot

Pure, hmm? Pure blooded, yes, but pure of ideal.... But it was not Dyakida's place to judge. ”I hope that meeting goes well.” she said, smiling at the implication that she was important. It was good to be important. Though she had all of this prestige, though she had earned respect for herself, the old doubts still lingered... It was very good to be important. ”Mmm. You could say that. Kaalnia has a daughter now.” said Dyakida, waiting for Briella's reaction, ”A sweet child” mostly ”Named Kiunyki. She pled to Aisha for her on her own, and received her... if you can imagine that.” it was still a little unbelievable to Dyakida. ”She has also been promoted to a warrior and has been helping a half-ice hybrid fit in. She's been very busy.”[No you didn't] said Peyla, incredulous. Sprites didn't fight off enemies. They tricked and trapped them, and then they fled. He was lying again, like the black-face he was. [I found shinies for my Alkidike, and earthlings, and important things!] She puffed out her own chest, [I even rescued her when she was kidnapped!] It wasn't quite a lie. She'd gone for help. That she hadn't managed to get the help, and had gotten lost and nearly eaten, wasn't the point. She'd tried, and she had to be better than Amadi. He had to think she was better... Even if it meant lying. [Bad guys tried to get her, and I had to save her! They took all her things!]

She nodded. She hoped so too, for Ilyra's sake. She didn't know much about the other girl so she hoped that she wouldn't be one that mistook Ilyra's skin color for something it wasn't. She could only hope that the meeting would be wonderful and that Ilyra would come back better for the conversation.
Her eyes widened. "A daughter!" she was an aunt. This was cray. She couldn't imagine her sister settling down and having a daughter. She was proud of her sister though, and very excited to see this niece of hers. "Wow, I hope Aisha knows what she is doing." she said with a laugh.
"Anything else I've missed?"
---
"I did too!" he puffed out his chest. He hadn't used a weapon or anything, but he still fought them off. "Rescued her! What happened? Mine will not like this." no his would be very unhappy to hear that her friend had been kidnapped while she was away.

”I hope so too!” Dyakida laughed. Kaalnia had been subject to quite a lot of ribbing once the news got out, which the firey Alkidike had taken with her usual aplomb, theoretically with a grin. It was a reasonable assumption on Dyakida's part – Kaalnia was the sort to grin about everything. She had heard it was quite spectactular.
”Mm, only the usual trials and tribulations.” she said, ”Sisters becoming Blades, Blades becoming Warriors, Warriors becoming Sacred Hearts or Amazons... even Guardians, these days. And many of those coming to me for their weapons.” she said, with some pride. ”Which reminds me, my dear Briella, which path will you follow? It occurs to me that I never asked.”

"Of course they are. Everyone knows that you are the best at making weapons. It would be stupid of them to go elsewhere." she was proud of Dyakida, more then she could ever express. Dyakida took a bad situation and made the best of it, not many could do that.
"I think I shall follow the path of a Sacred Heart. Kadriye has taught me some magic, and I find that I'm not bad at it. Neither is Ilyra. We aren't any mystics, but I do think we could become Sacred Hearts. Though now with more and more Guardians popping up I wonder if Ilyra will choose that path instead."
