It seemed to Ollie that the knights had a real tendency to shout -- bellowing at the top of their lungs for the apprentices to go here and to do this. Maybe it was something that offended some of the more serious newcomers, but Ollie -- well, Ollie liked it. It was loud. It was exciting.
One of them had grabbed him by the arm as he walked through a courtyard and had bellowed in his face to run out and play fetch, to gather some important artifact that would help them defend their home. Something that would make him look more presentable. And so, in turn, Ollie had bellowed back in the man's face:
"YES SIR."
He couldn't wait to be a knight. Bellowing was great, even if his was a bit high-pitched, still, and cracked on the end.
So, when he reported to duty to meet up with his fellow adventurer, there was a bright smile on his face, and an air of excitement that left him just about vibrating with excitement.

Yu and her horse, Honey were already waiting for her partner to show up. Dark hair cascaded at her back, the tall woman was checking her supply of food and equipment: Some different kinds of powder, her longbow and arrows and water.
She hopefully wished that would be another smart capable lady instead of stupid man. There he was. As usual, she didn't have much luck on her assignment of partner, but this one - oh this one. The beautiful golden eyes peeked lazily at Ollie and then shifted aside, Yu hopped onto her horse without waiting.
"Name's Yu, nice to meet you. Are you ready?" She seemed calm from her voice, but inside her heart throbbed for how cute this partner was. Men are stupid, Yu. Don't get cheated by the appearance, but - he's adorable.
The inner struggle was too keen that she leashed the horse to start moving, hair swung in an elegant flow.

"Ah, we get a horse!" Ollie was obviously ready, even if he didn't say it in so many words -- immediately throwing himself at his own mount, and hauling himself up onto it inexpertly but with enough enthusiasm to make up for it. Once he was seated -- looking very small on such a large beast -- he beamed back at Yu, apparently unconcerned by her calm and somewhat standoffish demeanor. If she'd been outright cruel, even he might have missed out on the subtext of her words and greeted her with the same level of excitement.
"Let's go!" He didn't check his packs, to see what supplies they had with them, nor worry about any potential dangers in their near future. He was just glad to be out of the castle, into woods: something about this feeling simultaneously familiar, comfortable, and also exciting.

Yu sighed at how inexperienced the boy, she tried not to look at him - How tiny he looked on his mount when she accidentally peeked as well as how destructive and sparkling his beam was, she closed her mouth so that she won't smile. Internally, she was cursing the man, must be a man who arranged the boy as her quest partner.
To Ollie's disappointment, there was not woods awaited them once they left the peripheral of Camelot. "Ahem," she cleared her throat plus her nervousness, "First time on a quest? If so, please follow closely." She took the map out and checked which way they should be heading while a tiger jumped out to scare the horses and blocked their way. Yu's exposed arm got clawed, she moaned at the instant pain but shortly picked up her bow to shoot at it.
"Get your weapon ready, and mind your step, we're on the steep mountain region." She didn't turn back to look at Ollie, but drew her string back prepared for another shoot.

Weapons, he wasn't bad with, and following, he could manage -- kind of. Except as they ventured out, Yu following her map and Ollie finding Yu, he had a tendency to wander, just a bit. Something would catch his attention, and he'd turn from the path to look at it. Something would make a sound, and he'd pause to listen. No amount of scolding could get him to stop.
Until he stopped to take a long gulp of water, and ended up sick to his stomach and groaning, curled up on the edge of the river. Yu would have to get him back, and quickly...

She already warned him but Ollie still wasn't there when she turned her head back, thus she made a search around the rocky mountain just to find the boy curled up along a river. "Oh my, what did you do? You drank the water?" She frowned, partially judging the boy for lack of common sense but checked him gently.
Yet, that wasn't the top priority. She made a long sigh before picking him up his horse and returned to the castle when she held the leash of his mount.
They were back and Ollie rested for a while before they tried again. No kidding, she wasn't going to give up before she get anyone or anything back.

Their second time out, Ollie couldn't help but be a bit more subdued: recovered, still bright-eyed, he moved a little bit more slowly and less enthusiastically, clinging to his horse and blinking at the back of Yu's head as he followed her out again.

"We bring our own water that's enough for us to survive for a week, the water source outside is unpredictable and risky." She replied. Honey, as its name suggested, loved the sweet taste of honey. She didn't name it because of that, but the color of its lovely fur.
It found a bee nest and swarmed by the angry bees. The scared poor thing raised unexpectedly and threw its owner onto the ground as well as the bag of foods and water. Its kindness for her at least. "See, any accidents can happen outside. So be careful, okay?" She dusted the earth off and tidied her clothes. Always be graceful, her number one rule.

It was a relief to see Yu end up flat on her butt in the dirt, for once -- and in reply, Ollie grinned down at her from astride his own animal, his good cheer restored. Maybe he'd had to go home sick, but at least he still had his horse. For a moment, he stayed there, watching her put herself right, and then he'd pause to offer her a hand up.
"We can share."
Whether she took it or not, they could continue along, until something caught Ollie's eye in the road. He pointed suddenly, frantically, and scrambled down to gather it, his expression going even more excited as he got the bundle open to reveal some more jerky to add to their stores. He held it up for her to see.

Misunderstood the boy was worried about the runaway horse, she said, "Don't worry, it can find its way back to the castle. They're smarter than men." She gave him a praising smile, a small one barely make a curve. And then, Ollie said something that would break her deadpanned face. She turned away to hide the blush she knew appeared slowly on her cheeks, she could feel the heat raising from her throat up her ears.
"I would appreciate it." She hopped onto his horse gracefully, she wasn't heavy anyway but she felt awkward on where to hold onto. The giant spider didn't scare her at all, when she swirled her bow to fling it away, some foods fell onto the ground. She shot a few arrows onto it, made sure it won't move again.
"I'm sorry, but we're not eating those. Let's move on." They'd better give them up because the mysterious Dysentery had its sources unknown. What's more, the forest wasn't a good place to stay, with the elves and spiders.

Ollie laughed at her surprise at the spider, only a moment later to turn around faced with one of his own, snatching the jerky from his hands before he could even begin to react. He drew his weapon quickly, but he didn't managed to strike the creature away before it scurried off into the undergrowth with some of their food clutched in its scrawny limbs.
He made a frustrated yelp, but it seemed this marked the end of their break. The pair of them could get up and trudge on, Ollie gone grumpy, now. Embarrassed, probably.

Her face flushed hearing his laughs, it was embarrassing to be laugh by a male, even he was not yet can be called a man. The embarrassed pair would move on in awkwardness, she didn't laugh him back for the spider - she never do. Yu's judging style was silent and below the surface, if you were not an annoying jerk, she would be calm and cold.
Archer attracted arrows, it seemed someone said that. It might be true when Ollie's horse went for a trap, happily trapped onto it like idiot. She heard the sound and pushed the boy with the horse away from the effective area, making the arrows only did harm to her.
Wounds all found on her body and she was bleeding badly. "We are very close to it, at the peak of the snow mountains." She would barely raise her arm to point at afar. The Labyrinth of Death was a place known for its perilous death traps, it also explained all the bodies and skeletons.

They were close, now, and Ollie's mood went sharp and focused as they did: excited and afraid, which only succeeded in intensifying his excitement. The trap set off by a careless horse didn't deter him: he just tumbled away to the ground, rolling carefully back up to his feet and catching his breath. There was nothing to attack, but --
"Hey! Look!" He put his weapon away and scrambled forward, heedless, to open the box. "More food!"
And poor Ollie seemed completely oblivious to the fact that he was kneeling on the bones and tattered clothes of the last party that came up this way. Maybe it was wiser not to tell him.

The gold knight in training was having such a bad day, first her horse ran away, then rained by millions of arrows and finally those fierce eagles came at her smelling the tasty bloods and fleshes. Seeing how inexperienced Ollie was in the outsider environment, despite the fact that the boy was extremely lucky, not injured and finding more foods on their way - she decided to lure the eagles away from him.
She hopped off the horse and dashed on the snow as fast as she can, her trick succeeded as the eagles didn't look at Ollie for a second before chasing her. She wielded her longbow to fling them away, stealing time to take one or two down. But then, she trapped because the snow was too thick and her leg stuck within. She could hope her armor could withstand the tendons and she didn't die ungracefully.
But she fainted because her body could withstand the severe pain and blood loss.
