Same old day, same old stretching.

San'thari felt like she was stuck in a rut right now. She woke up and did the same thing every single day. She stretched, washed herself, changed clothes and went down stairs from the inn she was staying in to have breakfast. Then she would end up getting her supplies out in her room and make up a mash of concoctions; the few she knew how to make.

Well, she was going to change that. ...Hopefully.

With a coin purse in her sash against her ribs, the Leaf girl headed out of the inn and down to the market to buy something for herself. She was hungry for... something sweet and fresh. Maybe some kind of berries or ...something special. She wasn't sure, exactly, but San knew she'd know what she wanted when she saw it.

...If only she were impulsive.

Either way she was determinedly walking to the market. It wasn't something she normally did, so this was making her nervous and excited all at the same time.

How boring are you?

Maya stifled a yawn as she walked along the bare streets. Tale was certainly something else. Rolling her shoulders her dark orbs scanned the bright area, still unable to properly adjust to the brighter lights. She had spent most of her years either around Aisha or deep in the forests of Jauhar. Pacju, her Radaku prowled close to her.

She didn't much care for Tale, everytime she seemed to come into the area someone seemed to get injured. First it had been Maya, and her foot, she had required healing from Shukri and in the end had gotten pets from the little sister while Maya healed. Then she and Teiluj had been surrounded by several leaf tribesmen while she was here looking for information on the Kinfa. Now she could only remain on guard.

Patting Pacju's head Maya entered what she assumed to be, was a market. It seemed similar to the ones in Ast that the shifters had but at the same time it looked different. It stood to reason things had similarities and differences after all.

Eyes scanned the first stall as she looked back towards the small camp she had been sleeping in. She had agreed to accompany Shukri on his business trip and now. Here she was, an Alkidike standing in tale.

San'thari didn't have anything against any other race that inhabited the world, not really. It wasn't her fault she'd only met Leaf or Wind people! Still, she couldn't say this Alkidike in Tale didn't catch her eye.

It wasn't the first time she'd seen one, oh no. It was ....just that the Alkidike were so unique, like the Matori, that she couldn't help but watch. The dreadlocks, the way their antenna moved... It fascinated the Leaf woman. She ducked her head a little so she didn't actually get caught staring and just went about her way, though she slowed down.

Would it be rude to talk to her?

Probably...

San mentally sighed at herself and then rubbed at her face before examining some of the fresh fruit, smiling quietly. Well, at least it looked delicious.

Maya's antenna twitched as she examined the surroundings. A habit she had picked up as a prentice and one that often came in handy for her. It had allowed her to keep her daughter Teiluj safe during the earthling wars. But market places had too many vibrations for her to really pick out anything out of the ordinary. Something pricked along her back, sending a shiver along her spine. Almost like someone was staring at her, not that it was all that uncommon either. Until recently Alkidike were the most feared of all the tribes, now they were regarded the same as the rest. While she was ok with that, Maya knew first hand that some of the sisters were less than satisfied with the outcome.

Turning to look in the direction of whomever was staring Maya's gaze narrowed. It was harder to see in the bright light and even if someone had been there moments ago, it clearly wasn't there now. Reaching up, Maya gripped the strap of her quiver. Turning away again from the earthlings direction and back towards the stalls.

Pacju however was not so easily settled. Having been raised by Maya it was second nature for her to read Maya's movements and react accordingly. Turning to look as Maya had, though not as quickly she sniffed the air. Turning to look at Maya, Pacju's eyes followed her for a moment before turning back towards the girl that had been staring. Her body lowered a little towards the ground as she stalked towards San'thari.

They did move. San'thari's head tilted slowly and she blinked at that, worming her way closer without trying to be to conspicuous about it. The brunette bit down on her bottom lip and just winced once the other woman finally realized she was being watched. San's eyes glanced down and then back up, tilting her head to the side before she realized that the creature was coming towards her.

"U-uh..."

Oh good grief, what was she going to do about this? "I didn't mean to stare!" She blurted out suddenly, voice squeaking as she panicked. She was not good with animals. Not really.

It had taken Maya some time before she realized Pacju was no longer directly at her side. Questioning the disappearance Maya turned to look all around the crowded market in search of the Radaku. Raising her eyebrow as her eyes located her familiar companion. What was she up to this time? Maya wondered as she moved to follow Pacju, her antenna twitching forcing her to look across the ground towards a young girl. Ah, had she moved in a way that made her suspicious or potentially threatening? Maya doubted it but Pacju had been spending alot of time with Teiluj lately. It was likely the Radaku had developed a further protective need because of it.

"Staring can get you into trouble." Maya offered the information lightly, showing she wasn't as hostile as some of her other sisters could be. Placing her hand on the Radaku she felt Pacju's hide flinch and twitch under her hands. Stopping in her tracks before turning to regard the Alkdidike she was with. Offering Pacju a warm smile Maya turned back to the girl. "I'm guessing you haven't seen many of my kind here yet?"

San'thari shook her head at the question and half bowed in an apology. "No. I'm sorry. I don't see many here." She wasn't from this area, but even on her travels she hadn't seen many of Maya's kind. Straightening herself back up, the girl felt like now she couldn't even glance at the other without fear of being attacked. This was just a great start to a meeting, wasn't it?

"I'm deeply sorry if I've offended you." She had only been curious. But curiosity killed the cat, as the saying goes. Now she knew what it meant. San had to be even more cautious so she didn't end up as someone or something's supper.

"I'm not offended." Maya corrected, giving her Radaku a pat as she tilted her head to regard the earthling before her. A puzzled expression passed over her features as she took in the girls own posture. "You do not need to fear me. I have no intention of harming you. Though I can't promise the next Alkidike you come across will be so kind."

Shifting her weight to the other hip Maya gave a soft smile. "I am used to the reactions that earthlings give." Though there was some moments where she had been pleased to know that earthlings still held some semblance of fear for her kind it was the amnesiac Oban she had really wanted to instill fear in. Even then she had failed to frighten him enough.

San'thari just nodded again when she said she wasn't offended. Honestly it still felt like she was and she couldn't help but half squirm when she was being looked at. "I'm not.. scared of you. Of your.. pet? Maybe, but.." She shrugged a little and toyed with her fingers as the other continued to talk.

"I'm sorry. I'm not making a good first impression in any way, am I?" San sighed and just cleared her throat to try again. "...I'm San'thari."
