When Xala had heard they could go out, she didn't know why, but it started up a trembling excitement in her that reached all the way to her toes.
"Come on," she begged to anyone who would awkwardly listen, and in this case out of a stroke of (mis)fortune it happened to be Lawr. She grabbed up his elbow as she asked, squeezing lightly. Her small and pretty face was bound up in a smile.
"Don't you want to know what's out there?"
She failed to account that he might already know what was out there, and that the answer for the most part would be rocks and trees.

"Do I?" Lawr asked. Not emphatically but literally, he wasn't sure if he wanted to know. "I think I do, I find myself curious. I would like to know if there are answers." He looked rather scruffy, scuffed up from his previous forays and dressed in a strange tabard that did not seem to match his (formerly) impeccable clothing at all.
Xala got a long, icy stare. "Am I going with you?" He did not seem averse to the idea, he did not seem averse to anything at all.

"Great! Yes, curious, what do you think is out there? I bet it's terrible." She seemed cheered by the thought.
She didn't answer him directly, but she didn't let go of his elbow either as they both apparently had decided (and Lawr must have decided somwhere) to go out to the stables. She squeezed into some badly-fitted armor and what looked like frankly a very heavy, spiky, bludgeon sort of weapon. Her former clothes had been very puffy, and she had trouble fitting the chest plate especially.
She also loaded up more food than either of them could realistically eat between here and wherever they were going.
"Well, it's not like we can make small talk about the usual. Where we've been. Where we're going. Where we're from... Ohhhhh, honey. Would you like some?" She seemed oblivious to why disturbing a giant bees nest might be a bad idea. Her horse, which was really more of a mule, backed away slowly (and probably wisely) towards the stables.

Lawrence didn't look too concerned about the idea it might well be terrible, he wasn't entirely 100 percent on what actually qualified as terrible. He had almost fallen to his death, but that was fairly normal from what he'd experienced since his...well since he had stood up after the oath. Things had been troublesome. He went along with the more decisive woman without so much as a word of complaint - or assent for that matter. He tended to float along in the slipstream of whoever had a strong sense of direction.
His horse was thin, mean and elegant, much similar to its owner, and he mounted up with muscle memory and little else.
"Aren't you going to take your horse?" he said.

He paused, his horse also pausing and looked rather concerned.
"We should leave in a short time." he said, dismounted and walked away.

"My what?" she asked, and didn't seem to notice she was on her own until she was in the forest.
She was quickly distracted, however.
"Ohhh, you're so lovely," she cooed at a giant spider, offering it something it probably couldn't eat. But she dangled it hopefully anyway.

As she walked on, she felt a sharp p***k on her ankle, and after she felt a bit woozy.
It was only two little itty bitty marks. Not...not fair...

This was it! After a lot of...really, difficult walking. By herself. When she was feeling a bit dizzy.
Her leg, thankfully, had turned a beautiful shade of painful colors, and walking on it was...well, amazing.
She almost dropped everything when she saw the giant pile of stuff at the top.

After some rest, she was ready to try again. This time, with everybody...even if she wasn't sure where all the horses and her chosen victim companion had gotten to this time.
"Okay, this time, we're going to do it and we're going to have fun."
There was something about the promise of fun that was threatening.

"We are?" Lawr said as he returned. "I would like to experience that sensation." Though he wasn't exactly sure what it might entail. His new friend (was she a friend?) seemed very enthusiastic regardless.
He led his horse out and gathered up his food supplies.

She put her arm around Lawrence, squeezing him closer, then put her hands in a sort of claw-like position, tapping his belly.
"It's like, it's like, you know, this, this feeling-" the tapping became pressing, and the pressing became a little hard- her own guts made a gurgling sound.
"H-hold that thought-" she said, retreating back to the stables.

Lawrence froze up at the contact but made no other gesture of displeasure, instead simply eyeing the woman's hands, also finding himself curiously distracted - for no reason he could discern by her rather ample assets.
But before he could solve that particular mystery she was gone again, so he decided to try and find out what it was on his own.
He found out rapidly that bees were certainly not fun, though they gave him a feeling, it was just the feeling that he had to walk.
