"That first quest was a dysentaster!" The Guild Master did not appreciate the joke. But he did give Abbi another piece of paper with a quest on it, so maybe it wasn't that bad of a joke in the first place! Feeling much better after a bit of a nap, Abbi packed herself another bag and headed out the castle gates for another attempt at this whole quest business. Hopefully she would fare better on her own, though she was a bit worried about going it alone... QUEST STATUS Food remaining: 29 YOUR HP: 30/30

This wasn't so bad! The blonde horse that Abbi had brought along with her was a very good companion, somewhat skittish sure, but patient as she picked out a proper path for them and quite keen to walk very close to the girl. And, unfamiliar with horses, Abbi found herself enjoying the taller animal and kept a hand placed on its side, occasionally giving it an encouraging scritch when it heard something scuttle by in the woods. Unfortunately, all this wonderful friendship was interrupted by bees. Abbi tripped on the nest and her horse, who she was still trying to decide on a good name for, decided that this was about enough questing for one day. It turned and galloped away, leaving Abbi all alone. "I suppose one could not very well say this questing business is for the horses." Now there was no one to hear her great jokes! Quest Status Every turn you take, you must subtract 5 food from the caravan. Food Remaining: 29 Remaining HP: 30/30

The forest is very spooky, mostly because its so dark and Abbi, being totally alone, is just a tiny bit scared. So scared that her stomach completely turned and she promptly hurried her way back to the castle where it was safe and that napping spot was still free. Quest Status Every turn you take, you must subtract 5 food from the caravan. Food Remaining: 24 Remaining HP: 30/30

Since this was her third time setting out on a quest, Abbi went a bit skimpy on the food portion. After all, it had made her vastly sick the past few times and she was beginning to become rather suspicious of these breads the castle kept providing her with... The blonde pony from before tags along again, apparently unphased by the bees and quick to recall all the good pets Abbi had bestowed upon the last time. It once again trots alongside her, nearly to the point of pushing her off the road. Which, as it turns out, nearly sends her careening off a steep cliff. Thanks horse-with-no-name. There is a lot of scrambling, unladylike noises (perhaps a very odd usage of acceptable language), and general dismay involved, but Abbi manages not to fall off the path proper and to her certain undoing. It is in no thanks to the horse, who rears up when the girl initially trips and dislodges some food. Thankfully its only a bit of bread, of which Abbi is glad to be without. She does give the horse a very serious sort of frown before she leads it back onto the path. "Alright you... No more of that, or else I refuse to give you a name at all." A dire threat indeed. All this traveling was making Abbi a bit peckish, and after very carefully inspecting a piece of bread, she began to nibble on it. There was, of course, the matter of sharing it with the horse who seemed very interested in her snack and though Abbi really did want to be selfish, she just couldn't. About to crack the roll in half and crumble it up for her horse, a bit of rustling in the bushes next to their path distracted the two.
It was a very loud sort of rustling, much more than a small forest critter ought to make... Not that Abbi really believed there were simply small animals in this dark forest...
And she was right.
A giant, blacker than night, spider leapt from the bushes, brandishing its front legs quite menacingly.
Being very brave, Abbi screamed and threw the roll at the spider. Momentarily confused, the spider picked up the bread after it had bounced harmlessly off its head, and inspected the foodstuff.
Abbi and the horse, on the other hand, were making a very specific run in the direction of nope.

"First its awful shadow creatures attacking, then you try to push me off a cliff, there is that whole business with the spiders, and now this?" Abbi gestures angrily toward the start of the labyrinth which looks downright dreadful.
The horse gave a snort and shake of its head, of which the girl interpreted to mean it didn't find it all that bad.
"OH! It is very much bad! Hopefully it will not get any worse, though..."
It did.
It got swinging-axe at her vital organs bad.
But, in the end, it was only a flesh wound!

As they approached the top of the mountain Abbi started to feel a little nauseous, but her very valiant horse nudged her forward and, cheered by its encouragement, she continued on.
Also, she was really close to the top and look, she had gone home three times at this point and was pretty much not giving up unless her horse pushed her off another cliff.

And after all that, after getting sick way too often and doubting her potentially homicidally inclined horse, Abbi had made it.
At the top of the mountain, inexplicably , there was a little chest and inside the chest was a mantle of downy white and embroidered with hundreds of yellow and white flowers.
"They're lilies! How darling!" The girl swung the mantle around and dropped it on her shoulders, doing a little twirl. "What do you think? It matches my eyes perfectly, don't you agree?"
The horse nibbled on some grass and flicked its tail. Abbi assumed this was high praise indeed and laughed, nudging it back down the path toward home. Maybe the horse wasn't so bad after all! It hadn't tried to kill her for the better part of a day now!
