As Hyperborea raced down the streets she took note that she seemed a lot faster as Hyperborea than she was as Ciel. That makes sense I guess, I was stronger powered up so it only makes sense that I’d be faster powered up as well. She thought as she ran.
She allowed her thoughts to wander as she made her way home. So I’m a real knight now, this is so amazing. Though to be honest I don’t really feel like a knight. I mean while this dress is cute, it doesn’t exactly scream knight I’m not even sure how I’m supposed to fight in it. She thought with a frown. She looked down at her new bracelet. And is this really the weapon I get. Not a sword or lance, or even a bow like Mimis had. How am I supposed to fight evil with a bracelet? For that matter what kind of knight fights with jewelry anyways?
Her thoughts were interrupted by the realization that she couldn’t just walk into her house as Hyperborea. She was basically a superhero or a magical girl now so she had to keep it a secret or else she would put her family at risk. She concentrated for a moment and she returned to being normal Ciel. She started running again, she was close to home so she allowed her mind to wander again.
I wonder what that Hvergelmir woman is like. Mimis spoke highly of her so she must be great. I bet she’s this amazing knight, she must be super strong and noble. Ciel thought with a sigh of admiration. But that Negaverse sounds kind of scary, still this is my chance to become a hero. I have to be brave and besides I managed to take on that monster or Youma or whatever it was called pretty well….once I got these powers at least. Her thoughts ended as she reached her front door. Well I guess it’s time to face the music. She thought as she opened the door.
Just as she expected her father was waiting for her in his favorite chair in the living room in the living room. He was looking at something on his laptop, probably something work related. She thought. His amethyst eyes quickly looked up at the sound of the door and they fell on her. “Four hours! Four hours with no call or text saying where you were! Do you have any idea how much trouble you’re in young lady?” He demanded shutting his laptop.
“I’m really sorry Papa, but I just got this new book and I was at the café reading it and time just got away from me.” She explained trying to put on her best puppy dog eyes.
“Then why didn’t you call as soon as you realized how late it was?” He asked putting his laptop to the side and standing up, at 6’1 he toward over Ciel.
“I um forgot.” She said as sweetly as possible. Her father just frowned.
“Well then consider yourself banned from watching anime or reading any of those fantasy books for the week, maybe that will help you to remember to call next time you’re going to be this late.” He started up the stairs towards his bedroom. “I’m going to bed; make sure you do the same soon, you’ve got school tomorrow.” Both her parents went to bed really early.
“What! But that’s not fair!” she cried but he had already disappeared up the stairs. She felt a soft hand on her should and turned around to see her mother smiling at her, her snow white hair held up in a bun.
“Ma bichette, your father was just worried about you; I’ll talk to him tomorrow. I left your dinner in kitchen, though you may want to heat it up. After that do get to bed love, your father is right about you having school tomorrow and you need your sleep.”
“Oui, Mama.” She responded. Her mother kissed her on the cheek before going off to bed as well leaving Ciel with her thoughts.
