Baseless confidence and arrogance from the previous success was completely thrown out as Gzifa prepared diligently for a proper attempt at another expedition. A good amount of food – bread, freshly made straight from the kitchen, and some other dry biscuits – were packed into her knapsack and loaded onto the horse. Her steed was much calmer and poised by now, the knight apprentice having spent time riding with it over the past few days. No more running into beehives this time. She had set out early in the morning when the air was still cold. Perhaps it may not have the been for the best, despite all good intentions to for an early start, as the rocky paths were still wet and glistening with the morning dew. Her horse was moving much slower than usual, often taking pauses until at one point, it completely refused to carry on. Gzifa dismounted and decided to carry on by foot, leading the horse by her side. Whatever made it feel more comfortable, she thought. A loud neigh from her steed had her distracted for a moment, and a small slip of the foot had her skidding over the mountain edge. QUEST STATUS Food remaining: 31 YOUR HP: 30

Gzifa clung onto her grip tightly and watched as a good loaf of bread fell into the ravine. Wincing, she mustered all her strength to pull herself up back onto the ground, wiping her hands onto her tunic. After all the kindness and consideration she had shown for her horse, Gzifa was to be extremely disappointed when it neighed and wrestled free from her grasp on its reins, galloping away. Before it was too late, however, the knapsack attached to the saddle was wrestled free, but without great cost. Gzifa stared pathetically at the huge hole torn and the scattered pieces of bread, wondering if it would be able to last her the journey. QUEST STATUS Food remaining: 21 YOUR HP: 30

The girl dared for a moment to think about the edibility of snake meat as she sliced through the hissing tangle of vines. She quickly reconsidered, as a loud yelp escaped her lips from being bitten; the culprit was merciless stomped into the ground and diced into pieces before it could even move from its state of being stunned. The scene of fallen knights was now also littered with chunks of scaley meat. Gzifa hissed, flicking her sword and wiping it off on a corner of her scarf. She raised her weapon once more, daring anything else to come at her as the winds howled in the distance. She wouldn't fall here, not today. QUEST STATUS Food remaining: 16 YOUR HP: 20

Quick feet and a steady pace had her ascending the mountain to the summit, body limber and ready to duck and dodge any surprises the booby-trap laced scene might have in store for her. The winds were still harsh as ever, and occasionally a step may be blown off course, causing her to crunch down on the brittle skulls of the fallen around her. Those moment had her heart stop for a beat, waiting to see for a trap to be sprung. But there was none, and she soon arrived once again at the top of the mountain. There was still no sight of the Great King, despite the insistence from the Knights to continue searching along the same routes. She would however, find another piece of artifact to bring back, although she did have some reservations about claiming a fancy fancy pair of panties to be worth anything of much value. Unless of course, they belonged to the Great King himself.... QUEST STATUS Food remaining: 11 YOUR HP: 20
