Caoineadh sighed as she looked down at the rather meager gear she was wearing. It seemed functional, but that was really all the benefit it had going for it. She needed something a little more resilient if she wanted to be of use. What good was a set of armor if it was likely to need repairs after each and ever fight she was going to do.

Grimacing she headed into the guild and stepped up to a message board listing current duties and quests she may be able to manage. Knight.. Knight... oh there was one. Apprentice Knight needed: Seek out the Greater Mantle of the Rattlesnake Master. Oh wow, that sounded great. Rattlesnake.. maybe a snake itself? She looked closer than sighed even deeper. A FLOWER? Seriously who the heck named a flower something that cool? It was green.. and.. well there was an image, that helped.

Rattlesnake Master Hnn, looking at the image she could see how one would think it was a snake rattle. Okay, she would do it. Nodding silently to herself she stepped up to let the guild master know she would be taking the quest.

Upon being permitted she was handed her kit bag of supplies and told to head on her way.

Now the forest. It had taken a lot to get this far, and the makeshift bandage on her leg was at least keeping her moving. She looked around and narrowed her eyes a moment, thinking on the note she had seen at this point on the map. Something about needing to go into the forest but to beware of the danger. The large spiders, the elves.. the arrows the elves shoot. Eep, she so didn't want to end up a pin cushion at ANY time, let alone this. Why was she even doing this? Her cape was fully functional, so it wasn't like she NEEDED a new one.

Idiot. Next time she should bring a friend along. Her horse was being really anti-social, it just kind of snorted and pranced a bit as if it too knew that there was trouble.

Climbing down from the saddle Caoin decided to take the moment to stretch her legs. Riding was fast yes, but it sure as heck made one's legs ache after a time. Little did she know what kind of error she was making as she did so. As she took her saddle bags down thinking to start a meal, her horse decided it no longer wanted to be part of this little foray. The darned thing turned and ran, leaving her alone.. and taking part of her food with it. Luckily it didn't take her bow. Such a rude thing, and to think she was debating asking of she could keep it as her private mount.

It had been a hard trek this far, but footsore and alone she managed to get out of the woods. The big problem was, that according to her map she was now in dwarven territory and they really didn't seem to take kindly to her. Along the way she had managed to find a small wood colt that was carrying her bag for a time, but it too had decided that it no longer liked her and had ran off taking more of her food with it.

She still had enough to make it, she was sure she did, but it was going to be hard. She was close though but as close as she was, she could still feel danger, it was so closer and she didn't want to know what it may be. She had to finish though, she had to prove that she worthy.

It was right there, she could see the cape and as she reached for it, the last of her food slid out of her bag, heading down to the ground and being lost. There was no way she could keep going so she had to head back home. She would try again though, and this time she was going to make it.

This time at least she knew where the wolf was and she was able to ride away from that area, but like a fool she ran into something way more annoying. BEES! The horse took off running leaving her stranded on her own again. Seriously, this time she didn't even get a chance to know what horse she had been riding. Hopefully she would find a relay station or something and be able to borrow another one. Still there went some of her food again, right away! Ugh, this was getting ridiculous.

Moving forward on foot the young knight apprentice headed toward the mountains. She was getting tired and thirsty but she was still being stubborn there was no way she was just going to give up. Sadly it seemed that destiny did not want to see her make it to the end. A loud roar broke the silence around her, sending birds heading into the sky and making her look around in worry. Out of the darkness before her came a huge beast made of fire and it was running right toward her. Not wishing to see if she was fire-proof Caoin took of running as well, leaving behind half of her supplies. She was terribly short on food, and it didn't look good for her.

Stalking into the guild hall Caoineadh just held out her hand and sighed deeply. She knew the drill, she knew the horses hated her and she knew she was going to have a hard time. Why not just cut to the chase and head out right away.

The guild master seemed amused as he handed her the kit bag and watched her walk out as if in a huff.

Greatul that she had made it this far with little issue other than the wolf, Caoin decided to stop and take a break. She slid down from the saddle, making sure to tie the horse so it could not make a break for it. She wasn't letting that happen so fast if at all again.

She sat down and started to make something to eat, and leaned back intending to take a nice break. Too bad nature had something else in mind. Not one to usually be afraid of spiders this was more of a shock than usual. The spider was huge. Not just big but HUGE and it dropped right beside her. With a yelp of shock she ran from where she had been sitting leaving her dinner behind. She was not going to head back for it either. It was lost, good bye! Climbing back into the saddle she got the heck out of the woods.
