So, having come back from his previous quest peacefully with not much to tell but that his horse ran away from him, Cress was ready for a new quest. (He did find the horse on the way back though, so he didn't have to find a new one or anything which was good.) He had gone to the guild master, picked up what seemed to be like pretty much the exact same quest of going down the path out of Camelot, through the woods, and up the mountains, and all that s**t. Why can't they just get a huge wagon and pile all the artifacts in it instead of having us go in groups to the same place over and over again? In fact, couldn't they just create a settlement by the artifacts and run it as a tourist attraction so that---Right. Shadows. Darkness. s**t. Wouldn't be the right time. He shrugged the lurking sensation off, and continued on his way. He seemed to have a good amount of food.

[Step 1]
Cress was walking down the path out of Camelot all fine and dandy. Everything was much the same as before, except this time he was very careful to keep an eye out for bees nests because the last run in was not a pleasant one. He was munching on a nice piece of bread when he felt a strange rumbling sensation in his stomach. Crap...crap...crap... He stooped over on his horse, wincing, and it was all he could do to turn the horse around back to Camelot. He was sweating profusely now and...Crap...crap...crap... He fainted.

After recovering from his bout of stomach flu for a few days, Cress was ready to start the quest again. He was slightly embarrassed about his last mishap. He probably should not have consumed those turnips from that last quest with the old man who claimed to be a wizard or the turnips from the bag of turnips he had found on the side of the road previously. There was definitely something odd about them, and there was really no such thing as free food. He had looked through his food supplies and deliberately made sure that there were no such turnips in it.

[Step 1]
Trekking down the path, Cress was very grateful that the stomach troubles he had all seemed to gone. He was also very careful not to walk into any bees nests, but it was at this point that something small, but ferocious landed in the path in front of him. He raised an eyebrow. Why is the squirrel so-- Then it attacked his face, and he fell off the horse. Whattt-- It bit his neck, and he tried to swat it away, but it came back. After much scrambling, Cress managed to kick the stupid squirrel several yards away and it finally acknowledged its defeat. Nursing his wounds, Cress got back onto his horse and wondered absentmindedly if the squirrel had eaten an odd turnip and if this was the cause of its ferociousness.

Cress was nibbling on some bread cautiously. He didn't want to succumb to all the stomach nonsense again, and it was at this moment in time when a giant spider landed on his head and he dropped the bread immediately and proceeded to scream and swat at it.QUEST STATUS Food remaining: 25 YOUR HP: 20

[Step 3]
Cress was scaling the mountains again, and thankfully, there did not seem to be any giant spider inhabitants here. On his way, he saw a crate of food on the side of the path. It seemed to have been left there by previous knights, and...yup, it was all turnips. He frowned, but put the turnips in his bag of food. They could be useful later, right?

Yes, he was on the top of the mountain, relatively unscathed. And that must be what was the artifact. He reached towards it, and then there was the rumbling sounds from deep within his stomach. Crap. He doubled over in pain and dropped off to unconsciousness.QUEST STATUS Food remaining: 35 YOUR HP: 20

Right. Cress was very much done with all the s**t. No pun intended. He was also done squatting in the outhouses wondering when the hell the pain would end. He was going to finish the quest this time.

Cress was wondering if all the corpses were from knights who had succumbed to the dysentery one last time when he accidentally stepped on a booby trap. Giant axes swung at him, and he sighed. Right, there was more than dysentery out there.

[Step 4]
Cress was worrying a bit about food at this point, but he was finally at the mountain top. Which was good, right? He climbed up the highest hill and there it was, the goddamn artifact. "YESSSSSSS FINALLLLYYYY" And there was a rumbling, it took him a good moment for him to realize that it was not from his stomach and dysentery. It was a ******** avalanche. It took him several minutes to dig himself out of the snow, and he seemed a little worse for wear, but he managed to pick up the Greater Shoulder of the Emerald and trudge the hell out of there and back to Camelot.
