The other apprentices had began one some quests. A calling by the guild master had rallied the newly pledged citizens to go forth on a quest issued by the Great King. He noticed that many were leaving in groups, others on their own. There was something disheartening that he was going in this alone... He hadn't made any memorable acquaintances to call upon or try to quest along with. So this quest will be on his own - it would seem. The quest objective was to gather a pair of gloves that were made by the Horsemen. Something about them must have been particularly interesting if the Great King had wanted it returned to the kingdom... But if the Horsemen made them, what right did the kingdom have to take them? Isn't that considered... No, he should not question it. He was given a task and he should see it through. The guild master handed him the necessary supplies and a sack of food that should suffice on his journey. Throwing the pack over Cedric's back, Uru saddled up and moved on out. The other apprentices had began one some quests. A calling by the guild master had rallied the newly pledged citizens to go forth on a quest issued by the Great King. After recovering from dysentery from a previous quest, he felt well enough to offer his services once more. He noticed that many were leaving in groups, others on their own. There was something disheartening that he was going in this alone... He still hadn't made any memorable acquaintances to call upon or try to quest along with. So this quest will be on his own - it would seem.
The quest objective was to gather a pair of gloves that were made by the Horsemen. Isn't that considered... No, he should not question it. He was given a task and he should see it through.
The guild master handed him the necessary supplies and a sack of food that should suffice on his journey, and a very hard side-eye. Throwing the pack over Cedric's back, Uru saddled up and moved on out.

Rolling a 2: You encounter a wild *animal here* that is extremely rabid and ferocious. It blocks the path and attacks you! You take -10 damage! Cedric had a difficult time traversing the rather uneven, rocky terrain outside of Camelot. However, he was a stubborn horse that never gave up. That was why Uru was quite proud of him. It was one step after another and the pair took brief moments of pause to catch breath and comfort. Cedric was working hard for Uru. It was then a sound snapped from the flank, causing the dark horse to neigh with agitation and the rider to pull free his blade. Without thinking, he dropped down beside the mount with sword poised to strike. A wild boar scoffed at the pair, scuffing its hooves in preparation of an attack. The apprentice focused his attention, waving his blade to draw the creature's eyes to him rather than the stationary horse. The last thing Uru had wanted was for Cedric to be frightened and run off, or hurt. Inching slowly away from his partner, the apprentice lunged forward as the boar charged. Catching the tusk along his unprotected left, he drove the blade straight through the beast's shoulder blades. With an unholy squeal, the boar fell. Cleaning his blade and wrapping his wound, Uru saddled back up, offering his partner a pat before venturing forward. Typical encounters. Food remaining: 20/20 YOUR HP: 20/30

The forest held a sort of wistfulness that he actually enjoyed. Something about it made him feel safe. Sure there was some uncertainty with the unknown and not being able to see what was around him at all times, but that was fine. It was the rumors of elves and spiders that made him rather apprehensive of traveling through it. Keeping to the safety of the route, he made his way through the woods rather uneventfully. That was until he stumbled upon a little camp off the path a way. Upon inspection, it must have been another traveler based on the bedroll, the put-out campfire, and the lone pack that laid nearby. There wasn't anyone around... perhaps they were taken by the spiders or sniped by the elves. In either case, Uru was going to make use of what was used. Rolling the bed roll up, he placed it against a tree, surely someone may find a use for it. He didn't. He made sure the fire was put out and covered nicely. Didn't want to start a fire from a rekindled ember. The pack was full of food... that shouldn't go to waste, otherwise it would attract critters. Taking the pack, Uru set forth. Rolling a 2: You accidentally step on a booby trap as giant axes start swinging at you! You take - 5 damage! Does one not love it when you are traveling a windy, mountain path when a giant axe comes out of nowhere to try to take you off your horse? Good thing Cedric is an awesome horse and maneuvered so that the rider didn't take too much damage. Damn, that stings though... Food remaining: 30/30 YOUR HP: 15/30

Rolling a 5: Somehow, you made it safely. Somehow. With the disturbing amount of screams, cries, cursing, and rather... unrepeatable phrases that was carried on the wind. Uru stood at the mouth of the cave with the artifact in hand, looking out over the mountain. It was a rather uneventful trip after the axe trap... so he was going to take it rather... slow and easy getting back. Yeah. "IS THAT A DAMN GIANT!?"The cry that came from somewhere nearby made him cringe. Okay, not going to take it slow and easy back, fast and quick sounded a lot better.
