Emily had been in her room talking to Nicholas on her IRC client, gently coaxing her newly-discovered brother to her friendship circle to attempt bonding (Mythbusters helped) when Flynn had called her to his room, and the girl-twin all but flew in, sitting on the bed amidst black silk bedsheets, black and violet blackout curtains, occasional lit candles and several Metallica posters. Flynn's room was often foreboding to most but Emily had fund it to be warm and inviting, and she rubbed his dog's head as he sprung the news on her, the female jumping a moment before giving an easy smile to her brother easily. Flynn was the 'older' twin and had always been Emily's confidante; now he needed her, and Emily grinned.
"Man, everyone says I take after Dad, and then you go gettin' a friend pregger. Good job man. Anything I can get her? I know where to buy heavy metal baby stuff. Unisex too."
The offer was not small - Emily knew Flynn seemed to want to do well and if her guess was right, the baby's mother wasn't up to caring for an infant. Still, they'd make it work. They always did.
"I don't mind helpin', I can pick up a second job."
On top of patrols, and school.... She'd make it work. Sleep was pointless anyhow, right?
The larger twin moved with a smooth gait, more wolflike and predatory to his sister's feline, birdlike movements and stopped pacing momentarily to look at her. Wren - Emily - Spatzi was his fraternal twin and he knew she meant well, so one red eye seemed to regard her statement before he grinned.
"You can babysit." He noted. "When you can. I'm getting a job at the place I learned belly dancin' in high school. You'd buy those for me?" The baby clothing was more of a surprise. Emily had all of the maternal instincts of a drunken fish - even their Aunt Cherish was more maternal, and she was a tyrant.
"I.... Thanks Spatzi. It helps."
"Better me helping with clothes than Dad or Aunt Emily." Emily responded. Flynn snorted, a half amused, half incredulous noise before grabbing her in a headlock, pressing a noogie into his twin's head, the female squealing and flailing her arms before grabbing his arm, grinning wildly, grabbing on before reaching a leg back, drawing it forward to hook his leg. Her move to destablize her brother half-succeeded, and she fell with her brother on top, the pair scuffling to pin one another rapidly, and Emily couldn't help wondering if anyone on Chaos would risk an attack knowing her twin was, well, toned. Of the pair Flynn often passed as a body builder, which, really, he wasn't - he did however, exercise, keeping Emily on her toes as they often fell into play scuffles. Emily cackled and writhed, squirming from his grasp to climb her brother's back and flopped, Flynn yelping as the momentum of her flopping made him bump down slightly, and she hugged her twin around the neck. Flynn gruffed, getting up and adjusting to hold his twin idly, shaggy black hair falling in Emily's face and he made way for the kitchen, ignoring his aunt and uncle. Emily similarly ignored them, adjusting to be less burdensome on Flynn as they entered the kitchen, and Emily idly looked to him casually.
"But I mean it bro, I could get a job?" She offered. Flynn hissed.
"No, Spatzi. you already have school and then bugger off for one night job,"
Emily internally cringed - it was the only proper cover as a senshi, and Flynn was always encouraging of her hard work. "And you're dating that Joseph guy. No. Not needed. Leave time to sleep - I'll work on a job or two till you graduate knucklehead."
Emily whined, a sound interrupted as Flynn handed her an orange juice and the girl let go and climbed down, the pair taking the jug to sit in the living room, taking turns to sip the juice. Occasionally, a cousin went by, and Emily sighed, leaning back to look up before she looked to her brother.
"I just worry, Flynn." She said softly. "I want you safe. Happy, yanno?"
Flynn grunted.
"I'll be fine, Spatzi, worry about you."
The words sank in heavily, and Emily leaned back, looking up to sigh and shut her eyes.
Callisto, Sinistra, Camelot, Merlinite, Helicon.... And more. So many people fighting and in her nightmares, so many people dying. Friends, family, being alone. But she wasn't Elpis then in her nightmares. She wasn't Elpis when she was thrown out a window - Flynn wasn't happy she'd even gotten hurt with the line they'd given everyone, and now he worried when he had a baby coming, and Emily took his hand, squeezing tightly. Flynn reciprocated and Emily sighed, remaining still and quiet as she did so before opening her eyes and looking up, sucking on her lips thoughtfully. She wasn't ready to tell him she was Elpis - not yet - but she wanted to, so instead she reached and ruffled his hair, earning a disconcerted whine. Emily chuckled dryly, and reached, hugging Flynn tightly.
"So what's this s**t about a little brother Dad's on about?" Flynn asked lazily. Emily grimaced.
"Nic? Little nerdlet Dad had with Mother. I assume you know who that is." The term was used with anger and Emily scowled. She still wasn't hapy her mother was a family friend who hid relation ad a brother, but she motioned.
"Weedy kid, sounds like. Scientist. Going to Azure and likely gonna attend HITS with some jock friend." She shrugged, Flynn snorting.
"Well, someone had to be weedy like Dad. We aren't." Flynn responded lazily, and leaned back. Emily snicked, mock-punching his arm.
"I'm slender too!" She reminded. Flynn re-opened an eye lazily and glanced to her, sniffing incredulously.
"Spatzi, you're more active than Dad some days, and you ain't weedy. More built to hide it, but you're not some weak-a** punk." He ruffled Emily's hair, and she blinked, sighing.
"Howso?"
"Y' hide it. Well, I might add, but face it, you can take me when we actually hit one another in a proper fight, and Quenton ain't no fainting violet. You're built too, sis, just not like a brick wall."
Emily blinked, eying Flynn before sighing and leaning back, shrugging.
"Guess so. I was dragging Nic into the chat earlier, before you spriuing the baby news. Yiou ought to join us."
Flynn glanced over at the invitation, and half-smiled, nodding.
"Sure. Why not. I need to go ********' keep you dorks in line as it is - miss Loki." Flynn snarked, and got up, quickly chugging the Orange Juice dredges before motioning, and the pair moved for their rooms without another word to assume positions at their computers to chat, and get to know their brother online.
