Hi, my name is Sophia Lin Knols.
But you can call me Sophie.
I'm a human female.
I'm eleven years old.
My birthday is October 29, 2017.
My dream job is to work in the Ministry of Magic in some sort of Muggle relations related job, or maybe even start my own business!
My blood status is Muggle-born.
This is my first year here at Hogwarts.
The house I'm in is Ravenclaw.
I'm interested in people.
I'm currently with nobody at all.
People say that, in a nutshell, I'm smart yet a bit ditzy. I can easily remember things I've read or written, but have a hard time remembering things people tell me sometimes. My mom says I should've been born a blonde. I know I'm book smart, but I want to be wise one day. I feel overly average sometimes, even if I did turn out to be a witch, but I'm okay with that. People underestimate the average. I'm not very social, but I do like to help people, even if they don't know that I'm helping them. I'm very fond of animals and even considered being a vet until I realized how much math was involved. With both of my parents being heavily involved in the business world, I learned a lot from them, especially customer service. I make good first impressions usually by being polite and respectful. But sometimes that's a mask.
My background story is fairly simply complicated. My mom is from the US and was traveling abroad in the UK when she met my dad. I guess they really hit it off because she decided to fully transfer there and finish her schooling. Over those years, they became even closer and I happened. Apparently it was a real surprise and mom wasn't sure if she should tell my dad, but she ended up doing it anyway. They decided to move in and keep me, but they didn't get married until after I was born, when they were sure that they could make our family work. But nothing works out perfectly. Mom got really depressed and homesick and after about three years of sticking it out, dad finally decided to try and move his business to America for mom. So I remember most of my childhood being in California rather than good ol' England. Sadly, my dad's business ended up not doing so well in America (the fact that my maternal grandparents hated him and his own father passed away didn't help either) so he convinced mom that it'd be best to move back when I was around nine and we've been here ever since. It was weird moving to another country (again, not that I really remember the first time) and I was so mad because I left all my friends but it was alright after a while and things settled down when my dad's business was properly functioning. I think the hardest thing was learning the metric system. Then out of the blue one summer, someone visited us from a school called 'Hogwarts'. They explained that I was a witch and that there was a whole magical world hiding away from ours. My parents were kind, but obviously skeptical until further proof was given and then just...shocked. I was so excited, I couldn't even keep still. The person said that I was accepted into this Hogwarts school and if I wanted to go, that they would help me and my parents get my school things. Diagon Alley was amazing and my dad was captivated by Gringotts when we had to exchange our 'Muggle money' for wizarding coin. And I only just got used to pounds! Seeing all the witches and wizards and shops finally made it seem real, for both me and my parents and my mom was so excited for me that she bought me my very own familiar! It's a cat, just like witches have in stories, but not a black one. It's a Maine Coon kitten that I named Alistair. I thought it was fitting because I really liked Duncan in the Dragon Age games and the wandmaker that my wand has a griffin feather as its core! Griffins exist! I wonder if I'll ever get to see one... I'm so excited and nervous to go to Hogwarts! But I've never been to a boarding school. It'll be weird not being able to see my parents every day after school. Or even be able to call or email.
I enjoy reading, asking questions, rain, bike riding, playing video games and eating cheese or anything with cheese.
I despise people interrupting my reading, math, spiders, heights, people that are biased over a stupid specific reason (like their lineage, skin color or even where they were born) and bread.
I'm afraid of spiders and heights.
My strengths are written language (spelling, definitions and grammar) and curiosity/thirst for knowledge.
My flaws are asking too many questions/being annoying and clumsiness.
I look like this.
My wand is a bendy and smooth eleven inch Willow with a Griffin feather.
My pet is a male Maine Coon kitten named Duncan.
