Pale eyes looked to the heavens intently, almost as if they were searching for something. The sun was beginning to set and although most would consider it a time to rest and to fall asleep Nios was wide awake. He preferred the night to the day, preferred the quiet that came with most inhabitants of the land laying deep in their slumber. It was true that the day was vivacious and full of life in comparison to the night. It was true that colors were more vivid and robust. It was true that it was warmer, that visibility was better, and that it was safer. However, in Nios' mind none of that could compare to the beauty of the night. To put it in simplistic terms he was nocturnal. Watching the sun set and the stars reveal themselves in the midnight blanket above was the equivalency of any day-walking soquili watching the sunrise. An so he stood atop a hill, stoic and still; a dark silhouette against the setting sun.

Galaxia watched in awe as the sun set and the stars began to twinkle into existence. She didn't normally like the day time as much as this was the time of the day she waited for! This was when the stars shown and she could dream about one day becoming one of them. She loved the stars with all of her heart. She had tried before to reach the stars, and her wings would never carry her to them. She felt that her pelt was a very minor reflection of the starry skies. She had a minor obsession with the stars and their twinkling nature. Their beauty had always weighed heavily on her mind, and she longed to be a part of them. She traveled alone, she had never found another willing to join her in searching and adventuring to find that fallen star. She wanted to have her wish granted and how else would it come true, but to find that fallen star. To this day she still hadn't succeeded in her task.

She closed her eyes for a moment as she walked. "I will find one...." She said quietly to herself. Her determination never faltered. Opening her eyes she all of a sudden spotted it. The flicker of a star, and then the trail it left as it fell across the sky. She poured all of her energy into her legs. She took off after the star. She would catch it this time she promised herself! She kept her eyes on the star as she ran. Never realizing how much distance she had gone, just knowing that she had to catch that star no matter the cost. She would have her wish granted this time! She just knew it!

She kept running not paying any attention to what lay before her. She bumped square into another. She rebounded off him with a muffled "Oooff..." she didn't even realize at first that it wasn't a tree that she had run into. She tended to run into them when she wasn't careful. She looked up to see the stranger standing over her. 'Oh My! It's a Stallion!' she thought in her mind, her eyes going wide. 'I hope he doesn't think me rude!' she stammered to say something but all she let out was a muttered "I'm Sorry!" She waited for him to say something and braced herself with her eyes shut tight for him to be angry and upset with her. She knew it was probably going to happen, after all her being the idiot that she was, had run into him when he had been doing lord knows what. All she could do was brace herself for the onslaught of how he was about to react.

To most the sound of hooves thundering against the ground may be a normal sound. It may be a sound that one hears on a daily basis and, for the most part, ignores or disregards due to its common nature. Nios, however, did not ignore such a sound. It was not a common sound to his ears and typically was associated with danger. Not that danger worried the stallion - all he had to do was fly as high as he could possibly go. Only another with two sets of wings could follow, and the likelihood of one with such wings being evil was unlikely. Despite the stallion taking notice of such an odd sound so close to the night he made a mistake. His gaze never left the sky.

The collision was sudden, jarring to Nios's core. His wings had been folded neatly to his sides and his 'Golden Fleece' had been nestled snugly between his hooves when he was hit in the side. A sharp shooting pain surged through his wings like lightning and he stumbled from the force of the impact. He couldn't help but flare and flap off the pain, almost as a two-legger would shake off the pain when they smashed a finger. He turned quickly, whipping his tail behind him as he did so, enraged. All he could think of at the time was he was either being attacked or someone had been very stupid. He received his answer as he looked down at the sprawled form of a mare. "Are you insane?" Nios blurted out, reacting more to the pain in his wings than the actual circumstances. "Who in their right mind runs headlong into another?"

Perhaps he was over reacting. The mare had mumbled a 'sorry', and the mare was seemingly cringing. Perhaps he had not over reacted? Why else would she be cringing if she did not expect the reaction she had just received. Nios huffed and turned, stomping off a few paces as he continued to flap his wings, before returning back to the mare. "You okay?" Nios said with a sigh as he returned, not out of genuine concern but more-so as a custom. "You really.... Really need to be more careful." He added.

Galaxia sat on the ground, she had managed to gather her hooves back under herself. She had been waiting for the response from him that she had just gotten. He was angry she knew, and she shut her eyes tight. She peeked through them as she heard him stomp away from her. She had hurt him. She would never forgive herself for it, and silently she scolded herself. His comment of are you insane stung. She wasn't insane, she just got carried away chasing the fallen star. At his next comment she got a pang of Anger. It wasn't her fault that he was such an enormous male! She was just a tiny thing in comparison to him! Maybe if he hadn't been so big she wouldn't have run into him! She huffed to herself silently as her eyes started to narrow. The pout was probably clear on her face.

It softened when he walked back over to her and asked if she was ok. She blinked at this, slightly confused. Why wouldn't she be ok? she wondered. She tilted her head to the side and watched him for a moment as he told her that she really needed to be more careful. She had appreciated his concern for her none the less. She wasn't quite used to others being nice to her. She had lived away from others due to her love of the stars. In addition to her constantly chasing the falling stars and having them lead her all over the place. One day though... One day she would find one and get her wish! She now decided to got to her feet once more, and resettled her wings at her sides.

"I wasn't planning on running into a Mountain such as yourself!" a small hint of the annoyance of being called insane still ran through her voice. "I was just chasing the falling star! How was I to know that you would be in the way of it?" She scoffed lightly. This reminded her and she dashed around the small area they were in, looking at the sky for any trace of the fallen star. "No... It's gone.... I've lost it..." her heart sank once more at the thought of losing her wish. Her head dropped in the sadness she felt at the loss of the star. She had forgotten him for the moment and was concentrating on the star she had lost. Whispering to herself she said "Now how will I get my wish?"

I'm sorry it took so long - Things ate me for a moment IRL.

Silvery blue eyes narrowed ever so slightly as the winged mare before him actually seemed to pout. He was not very old to this world, or at least by his standards he did not presume to be 'old', but the actions of the mare before him spoke of a lack of maturity beyond that which her physical appearance showed. At first glance one would assume that the mare was a genuine adult. Nios clicked his tongue, continuing to gaze as the mare spoke, coming to the conclusion that the mare (despite her physical age) must have the mindset of a young foal. The corners of his mouth turned up in a mild sneer at the mountain comment though. "One would think," Nios began, tilting his head forward to look down on the mare. He raised his brow and kept his tone calm as he spoke, keeping in mind his earlier conclusion that the mare was not mature yet. "That if something, or someone, was so large that it would be easy to spot and avoid. Furthermore," Nios added as he used his fluff of a tail to make a generalized pointing gesture to the multicolored wings at her sides. "One would also think that flying would be the best mode of transportation when chasing a celestial being."

His composure changed though as the mare darted, apparently reminded of the reason for her collision in the first place. It was slightly intriguing to see someone so distraught over something that he did not believe to ever be able to be caught. An ear flicked as his head tilted, his curiosity bleeding through to his physical actions. He turned and stepped over to stand beside the young mare, his gaze keeping to the stars the entire time. "You know..." He began, a soft smile spreading. To say that he did not like nor believed in the stars would be an utter lie. In truth, he admired them. But he had his own personal views on how and what they were, and despite his manners and customs he had not quite learned that others may not share the beliefs that he possessed. "You can't catch a falling star. And even if you could, the star would kill you on impact." Nios' intentions had been in all honesty good. He did not mean in any way to insult the mare's want. He had no clue that his simplistic statement of what he believed to be knowledge was in essence the equivalency of a two-legger adult telling a two-legger child that Santa did not exist. He simply was intending to ease the mare's troubles by informing her hat it wasn't so bad that she had lost it, since she could never catch it anyways. He chuckled slightly and looked over at the mare once more. "You know?"

She kept looking around for the star that had fallen. She watched in the direction that it had gone hopeful that she would see something that would give her an idea as to where it went and where it had landed. She needed to get there. Her entire heart called out to the stars above her as she silently pleaded. 'Please.... I want my wish to come true.... How am I supposed to make my wish if I can't catch a star....?' she watched the stars transfixed as she heard him speak to her. The part about flying stung a bit. She tended to get so transfixed into chasing the falling star that she forgot to spread her wings and fly after it. She moved them slightly at her sides, and resettled them. She looked down to the ground now. He was right. She had let herself be carried away by the hope of having her wish granted that she had run right into him.

She didn't feel him as he came up beside her. She murmured a quiet "I'm sorry" as she looked back up to the stars. They twinkled and shined bright as could be against the dark of the sky. When he started to speak again she flicked her ear towards him. What she heard next astounded her. She blurted out once more "You don't catch a Fallen Star!!! You find the place it has Landed and then you make your wish upon it!! Don't you know anything about the stars?!" She was amazed at his lack of knowledge. How could he not know that you had to find the star to make your wish? She was confused as she glanced over at him. "You really didn't know that you had to find the Fallen Star in order to make your wish? I was simply chasing it so I could find it's landing spot and make my wish!" She turned to face him now and in a matter of fact tone she told him the steps. "You see the Falling Star, you chase it... you find where it fell and then you Make your wish! If your heart was genuine your wish will be granted by the star!" She blinked still confused. She hoped she was putting it simply so that he would understand her.

She watched him now, and her eyes went large. How had she not noticed? How had she missed the fact that his pelt was filled with the stars?! She stood there for a moment in total awe of him. she had no idea what he would say to her comments of finding a fallen star. He could have already found a star and gotten his wish to be a part of the stars. Maybe he had found a Fallen star and made his wish to have the stars themselves on his pelt. She just watched him and took in all the details of his pelt. She was amazed and for once, speechless. What could she say to another if they had already achieved what she wanted to do? She wanted to ask him about it, but decided it was better to let him respond to her first. that would tell her if he really had found a star already!
