Knitting. Knitting was something that Raven had never really seen herself getting into…but here she was, standing at the craft store, looking at all of the yarn. The baby yarn looked…so soft…and when she reached out and touched it…oh it was soft. So soft…

Before she knew it, there were three different yarns in her hand, a yellow one, a multicolored one and a pink one. Oh yes. This was going to be nice. The blonde hesitated, eyes falling to all of the many different kinds of knitting needles and hooks…what on earth was she supposed to with all of them?

Well…

She put the yarn back down and went to the front of the store, nabbing one of the shopping baskets. Yes…yes this would do nicely. When she was armed with the basket, she made her way back to the yarn aisle, grabbing her three bundles of yarn, she snuggly fitted them in the basket, gently running a finger over one as she went back, staring down the needles with the same intensity that one would use when staring down a group of employees that were facing termination. This was a choice that she had no idea how to make…so she moved up the aisle, finding the ‘How To’ books. Yes. This was it. The best way. She was going to start knitting, and this book was going to show her how…and then she could make money on the side as she knitted socks and scarves and…and blankets…baby blankets.

Raven put the best looking ‘How To’ book in the basket…then grabbed a few more of them, just in case. You never could predict how good the instructions could go with the pictures and…and she just wanted to get good…and quickly. She had a lot to make before the baby got here after all…

After a few minutes rifling through one of the books, she again looked at the wall of knitting needles and picked out a few that looked relevant to her interests…at least the things that she was interested in.

When she was pretty sure that she had enough needles and books…she grabbed just a few more bundles of yarn, then went to the checkout counter. She tried to ignore the amused look on the sales woman’s face and instead let her gaze wonder to the candy rack. Well…maybe she needed some…so…

So she got some. A lot of it. Chocolate bars, mostly…things she knew Jett would like as well…it was important to maintain a healthy relationship with your almost spouse, after all so…

…Then again…what he didn’t know wouldn’t hurt him…

And it did sound really good. The candy sounded good…and it would be good.

With a smile and a brief goodbye, Raven left the store, carrying her bags out to the car and getting in, letting the air conditioning wash over her for a moment before putting on her seatbelt. Well. She supposed it was mission accomplished…even though she hadn’t been aware this was a mission she needed to have accomplished.

Regardless…she was excited to try knitting…and she was more excited about the results of the knitting.

And that yarn was just so soft…
