Eternal Sailor Chaonis was very happy to have Navi back, and to be able to meet with her when he wanted to, instead of relying on phones to send cryptic texts back and forth.

He much preferred the real thing to words on a screen, though it had been nice to be able to stay in contact, even in a limited way.

Tonight, he opted to take her out on the town for a bit. As much as he could, powered up as they were. He was a White Moon Senshi, and she a Dark Mirror, so they could not exactly power down and be together like a normal couple. Still, he treasured the time they did share, and tried to show her as good a time as he knew how.

Even at the best of times, he felt he was ill equipped to be romantic, but for her he was happy to try. Standing in the park, waiting for her to arrive so they could go on an evening stroll together, he held a bouquet of spring colored flowers, bright and sunny.

It felt silly, and he thought maybe she would laugh at him for it, but he was oddly okay with that. It was still a smile, after all.

The park was a haunt Navi hadn't visited in a long time. Not since she and Chaonis had met here, confessing their feelings to each other before throwing caution to the wind. Theirs was a dangerous, frustrating path, but in the end, despite the hardships and the pain, it was all worth it. They made it work, because they had to make it work. There was no other option for them. The phones helped, easing the awful weight of worry that settled on the heart throughout the whole of their days away. It wasn't idle, far from it, but what little they had they would cherish.

Tonight was no exception. They couldn't take traditional dates, not yet, but they could do this. A walk through the park. It was such a simple thing, but it meant the world to the Dark Mirror, and she knew Chaonis felt the same.

She didn't laugh when she saw the flowers. Instead she felt her lips pulling up at the sides as she came strolling up the path towards the fountain. "Those are lovely. Are they meant for someone important?" Petite, delicate in feature, she pulled of coy very well. Mischief betrayed only by the subtly twinkle in hazel eyes.

When she reached him she lay her hands on his arms, going up on tip toe so she could lay a kiss on his chin, then his lips if he'd tip his head down for her.

"I was going to give them to this girl I like, but I guess you can have them."

He offered her the flowers, grinning at her teasingly. Of course, he could not pull off those kinds of jokes with her any more, because his feelings were always plain on his face. He loved her, and he wanted to see her smile. Even for something as simple as a batch of flowers.

Catching her lips for a gentle kiss, he let the moment linger for a little while before he pulled back.

"You look really good. Tan? Maybe it's just dark out, but you look good." He couldn't help but grin again, offering her his arm to hook hers with, so they could go on a stroll. He knew she was fine, as their texts had said, but he still could not help but ask. "Are you doing good?"

Navi's smile turned down right devilish at the banter. "Is she a pretty girl?" As if she didn't know. Though recent scars had left her feeling a little self conscious. Chaonis assured her she was every bit as lovely, that the gash that cut across one side of her face didn't take away from beauty, but she stil caught herself reaching for it at times. Now was no exception, the tips of glove covered fingers brushed lightly over the healing mark, coaxed a ginger curl to hang just so.

The kiss was a light thing, sweet and tender, as he placed the flowers in her hands, and as settled back on her heels she'd draw in that sweet scent on a deep breath. "Mmm." An appreciative hum.

Compliments had her grinning, but the DMC nodded. "I got a little color. Impossible to be out in that sun and not." She'd been lucky not to come back looking like a lobster, but Raven had kept her well stocked up on sun screen through out the whole of their stay.

Small fingers came up to curl over his arm as he offered it, and she slid in close, resting her temple against his shoulder as they started to walk. "I'm doing very good. Glad to be home."

Patroling was a never ending series of loops around the city, as far from her apartment in the center as she could complete in a reasonable number of hours. She had it down to a routine now, knew how far she could go and what the areas she passed through should look and feel like. Some might not notice a car that hadn't been there before, or the 'For Rent' sign on a building being removed, but Ida spent so much time on her route... she couldn't help but notice the small changes that intruded on her little part of the world.

Power signatures were especially noticable, whatever side they were on. They glowed in Ida's head and drew her away from the street she wandered down towards the park instead. It would have been a place to check out anyway, but the warmth of an order signature mixed with the creeping cold of a dark mirror to put her on edge.

There were a number of DMC Ida had come to know and trust, Chariklo chief among them. This one felt like an eternal, though there was no way of telling who exactly it was. No matter who it belonged to, really, fighting between their two sides would undermine the fragile peace she saw forming between them. The memories of the future had shown what was possible... they could work together against a common enemy. There were Mirrors willing to die by their sides... if they could just put aside their grudges now, maybe things could turn out different.

Approaching the park at a jog, Ida braced herself for what she might find and mental crossed her fingers it wouldn't be a White Moon eternal facing off against a Dark Mirror... though the peaceful quiet of the city at night suggested her fears were unfounded. As she broke out onto the paved path, the young woman slowed to a stop and cast about before settling on a pair of figures walking arm in arm.

"Chaonis?" Ida called, startled.

"Oh. Hey Ida," Chaonis said, blinking in surprise as Ida came up toward them during their pseudo date. So far, Chaonis had managed to keep his relationship status pretty close to his chest, but after what happened with Painite, it hardly seemed important to keep things quiet any more.

It was pretty easy to figure out that Chaonis was dedicated to the Black Mirror Senshi. She was everything to him, and he was losing the will to deny it now. Be it pride or some weird sense of needing to be tough, he always had trouble admitting his feelings.

With Navi, though, things were different.

"Uh. Ida, this is Navi. Have you guys met? She's my uh." He trusted Ida, as one of his dearest friends and someone he owed a lot to. He would fight for her just as hard as he fought for his own family, and considered her one of the strongest members of the White Moon. "Well. My girlfriend."

If the flowers and them walking together so closely did not say that already.

He had the feeling that their paths must have crossed at some point, right? The city was only so big. But he had a hard time keeping up with who knew whom.

Delicate fingers had tightened on Chaonis' arm as Navi felt the approaching aura. Order, but the girl was still understandably after everything she'd so recently gone through. A little rest and relaxation in the warm California air had certainly helped, but no amount of lounging pool side would erase the scars and memories.

Her pace slowed as Ida came into view, lips closing around a small sound as the DMC pressed in close to Chaonis' side. It was absolutely cowardice, and completely automatic.

She didn't calm until the Senshi of Danger was introducing her, not as an acquaintance, but as his girl friend. It resulted in a stunned expression and the subtle twitch of full lips as she looked up at him, then a slow spread of a pleased smile. She gave his arm a squeeze before turning her attention back to the woman on the path in front of them. "It's," she faltered, still a little surprised by the admission. Her cheeks were flushed, her smile radiant. It felt so good to just be honest. To not have to hide.

"It's very nice to meet you, Ida." Loosening her grip on her prince's arm the DMC stepped forward, offering a dark clad up in greeting. "Any friend of Chaonis' is a friend of mine." She hoped, in any case. At the very least, there would be no violence on her end.

Her friend seemed surprised to see her, but not upset, which was a good thing. It had been so long since she'd seen him last... it would be easy to drift apart and the friendship to fade. He introduced the girl with him as his girlfriend and Ida's eyes widened.

There were a lot of issues that came to mind with such a relationship... particularly sharing civilian identities, unless you wanted to keep your love powered side only forever. She hadn't even trusted Chariklo with her civilian life... Ida wondered if Chaonis trusted Navi with his.

Still, when the other woman stepped forward, Ida went to meet her with a wide, warm smile. She took her hand and gave it a firm squeeze before she leaned in for a one armed hug.

"Hello! Its so nice to meet you, Navi. Chaonis's girlfriend? That's wonderful news." She said as she released her hug, sharing her smile in her friend's direction as well. "Its been a long time since I saw him last, this is a pleasant surprise."

"I've only met a handful of Dark Mirrors, actually... Remarque, Tantalus... Chariklo and Amytis." There were more, undoubtedly, but bringing up wibbly timelines seemed a poor idea right now. They had enough to deal with in the present. "If I'm interrupting something, I can leave you two to your walk. I just make it a habit to check on power signatures I feel nearby. You never know who you'll run into."

"Oh! Chaonis! I don't know if you heard, but Athene and I moved into an apartment together." Ida perked up as she remembered. "I can send you the address, you should visit sometime! Athene has a Mauvian now, named Liryn, and he's sort of become the team cat. You should meet him too."

Chaonis laughed and shook his head, giving Ida a knowing, wicked grin.

"Nah, not interrupting too much. I mean, just a pleasant walk through the park with my lady. Uh. I think I remember someone mentioning the cat before, but that's cool you and Athene have bunked up. Easier to keep track of everyone, that way."

He looked at Navi, frowning thoughtfully for a moment.

"Uh. We're all members of the same team. I'm sure you figured that one out. Have we talked about that before? The PSSG?"

Hell, she basically qualified as a member at this point, considering their last run in with Painite. They had survived, after all, and that was the only real rule to the group. Sure, being white moon probably helped but... that was just a technicality, right?

Surely he was not the only one with Chaos friends.

The hug was unexpected, catching Navi off guard as Ida pulled her in for a gentle squeeze. Pale eyes widened, shoulders tensing, before what was happening really sank in. Not an attack, not a threat, just a friendly gesture from a friend of her prince. She was alright with that.

Painite's latest attack had left the Dark Mirror a lot more skittish. even in her civilian life she was always attentive of her surroundings, always paid attention to who was around her and what they were doing. It wasn't quite as bad as it had been when Raven had swept her straight from the hospital to California, but she still startled easily, and strangers, even supposed allies, were viewed with a certain amount of wariness.

But she smiled at Ida as they parted, honestly happy that the other woman seemed so very accepting of her. It had been a long time since Navi had met a White Moon senshi that was not immediately suspicious of her or down right hostile.

"I know Remarque, and Chariklo." Their names were said softly, almost guiltily. Allies, the both of them, and she was aiming to walk away from them and the rest of their court at her first opportunity.

She fell quiet again as Ida filled Chaonis in on the recent happenings of his friends, dropping back to stand at his side so she could reclaim his hand with a slip of delicate fingers through his own. The names exchanged weren't ones Navi knew, or at least she didn't think so. Athene sounded vaguely familiar, but she wasn't sure if she'd met the senshi or if that familiarity was from greek mythology.

Chaonis looked down at her and she looked up, brows lifting curiously before he filled her in on his place in a team, and what that team was. The seemingly random letters didn't make any sense to her, and her head tilted gently to one side. "What does PSSG stand for?"

Chaonis's grin was infectious and Ida couldn't help but return it, clasping her hands together over her stomach. It was just nice to see her friend happy, no matter what troubles might come from their being together.

The smile quickly turned into a self-deprecating grimace and the senshi laughed, reaching up to run her fingers through her hair.

"Ah, well... It was sort of a joke, when I brought it up. We needed a name for the team and we all had this detail in common... We've all been attacked by Painite, and we all have scars from it. I called us the 'Painite Survivor Support Group'... and the name stuck." Ida lifted and dropped her shoulders, clasping her hands behind her back. "I've been thinking we should change it... but we haven't come up with anything better yet."

"We're just all survivors in general. Every senshi is, I think." Ida said as she glanced down at the toes of her boots, idly grinding her heel into the gravel of the path.

Chaonis laughed as he noticed Navi's expression, shaking his head. She was about as good at being hugged by strangers as he was, it seemed, which was good for him. Of course, he gave everyone he met absolutely no reason to want to hug him, so he could at least avoid it that way. She was not quite jerk-ish enough for that tactic, though.

That was one of the many things he adored about her.

He let Ida field the question about the name of the group, nodding his head along with her. He felt like the name was more apt than ever, really, as Painite had been stepping up her game against their members, and been opening up chances for others to join up if they wanted to.

Anyone that got away from one of her attacks knew what it felt like.

"Yeah, well, whatever we're called, we're a good group. I mean, I've never been much of a team player, but these guys are all good people. They stick up for each other when they need the help, and I'm lucky to just know them let alone get to pretend I'm part of the group. Maybe you can meet the others some time, Navi. I think it would be good to have, you know, some more allies. In case anything... bad happens again, like before."

He got a little more serious now, speaking about what happened to Navi, and remembering all the fear and pain that happened because of it. It was not a set of memories he was particularly glad to recall, but he couldn't avoid them, either.

"Oh." Her voice grew even softer, and the Dark Mirror was reaching back for Chaonis' hand before she even realized she was doing it. When their fingers met she'd hold his tightly, tugging him up closer behind her so she could lean back against him.

Almost idly, unconsciously, her left hand came up. First to her neck, the older scar that marked the side of it, then up towards her cheek and the newer slash that was half hidden by the fall of ginger hair. Realizing what she was doing, she turned the action into something simpler, brushing a curl behind her ear, but the nervous twitch of her eyes and the quick lick of her lips probably gave her away.

Painite was a busy monster, leaving nothing but pain and anguish in her wake. Navi and Chaonis seemed to be her current focus, but the petite senshi didn't doubt that there had been others.

"I would like to meet them," she spoke up after a quiet moment, fingers tightening around Chaonis'. Who else would make better allies for her? They knew what she'd been through. Perhaps not exactly, but they'd had to endure themselves.

Ida caught the motion that turned into a brush of the hair and her face gentled in understanding and sympathy. Scars seemed to come with the territory... everyone had them. Lifting a hand, she ran a forefinger across her ribs where the pristine white of her uniform hid the ugly twist of raised flesh there.

"I have a long scar that starts here and ends... here. Chaonis knows this one. I was a basic senshi and she caught me in an empty construction lot. I was no match for a general and I barely managed to get a call off to him before she hit me with her spear." Ida kept her eyes carefully away from the senshi of danger and focused instead on his girlfriend as she offered a comforting smile. Her fingers moved lower, circling a spot in the soft flesh below. "I have a newer one here, where she stabbed me with the broken handle of her spear. I was in the hospital for weeks, afterward."

Ida clasped her hands in front of her then.

"We've all got things like that, so we all understand, a little bit, what its like. Its why we're working together, and why we try to help people. I'm sure Tsui and Athene would like to meet you too. Its good to know people, I think, and make connections... we're always strong when we work together. I've only ever gotten hurt when I tried to do something alone, so I value the people I can call allies."

Chaonis vividly remembered the times he had to fight Painite, and every time she hurt someone he cared about. He remembered all of his own close calls with her, as well. And they had been many. She very nearly killed him, a number of times. Of course, once, he had very nearly killed her, as well.

If Camelot had not stepped in, this might all have been over.

But then again, Camelot did think he had killed Painite, and for a while, she was gone. She just somehow managed to survive. Chaonis had to stop blaming Camelot for that one. It did lead to her seeking her revenge, though, and to many more people getting hurt because of it. And that would likely continue.

"Hey, what do you think of a Dark Mirror on the team? I mean, you know, since we all have a common enemy and everything. But like officially, if she needs help again, maybe we could do it?" He had needed his team the last time they were in trouble, but at that point everything was still too much of a secret to try. He trusted them with everything, though, and he wanted their support. More than that, he wanted Navi to know she had a net of allies, not just him and his dad, that would support her and not let anything bad happen to her.

Anyway, he knew where Navi's heart was, and that was with him. As his was with hers. There was nothing he would not do for her, and he knew she felt the same.
