She would like another companion. It was about that time, she had Abathur since she was youngling and she was past that now. But what kind, that she wasn't sure. Her mother had a sprite, and while she wanted one of those she knew how hard it was to come across one that would stay with you. That was something she thought she would have have to come across sooner or later. It wasn't something she would go looking for, rather something she might be luck enough to run into. But there were other animals in the forest that could be tamed, other animals that made good companions. The one that stood out the most was one that many of her sisters had, the radaku. She knew that you had to get one as a pup, but she figured that it wouldn't be super hard to do so. They were everywhere in the forest.

She had woken up early that morning, leaving Abathur home with her mother. Although she loved him dearly she didn't want him to get in the way of her hunting, and she was also slightly afraid that he could get hurt if things got serious. She had stayed high in the trees, being as silent as possible as she did so. She knew the creatures would run if they heard her, and she wasn't about to loose one because she wasn't being careful. It had taken some time but eventually she stumbled across a few of them, most of them seemed pretty young too, but there was to many for her to have a chance. She knew that if she dropped down she could either loose all of them, or they would attack her and she didn't like her chances. o she stalked, keeping far enough that they wouldn't hear her but close enough that she wouldn't loose them. Slowly some left the group, and after a few hours passed there were only two. She smiled, she seemed to be having pretty good luck. However she only needed one, which meant she had to scare one off. But which one? They both seemed beautiful, and about the same age. One was a little bigger, but she wasn't sure if that was because of it's age or if it was just bigger. After some careful consideration she decided to try for the smaller one. Letting an arrow loose near the bigger one, she dropped to the floor near the smaller one. Luckily just as she planned the arrow was a fatal one and the larger one dropped to the ground right away. As she dropped down she threw the cloth net that she had made just for this occasion on the smaller one and managed trap it under it. "Gotcha!" she exclaimed as she pulled together the two ends of the cloth and swung it over her shoulder carefully. It was struggling in the bag, but it was small enough that she managed. As for the larger one she threw it over her other shoulder and headed home. They could use the meat for cooking dinner, and the skin for a new blanket. Her mother would be pleased.

      ---------

It had been a few days, and the radaku she had caught still wouldn't let her near it. She tried feeding it, talking to it nicely, everything she had been told to do but nothing worked. Every time she came close to it it would work it's self into a frenzy and attack. Although it was small and it's teeth didn't hurt that much, Ilyra was getting a little tired of being attacked. There was also the issue of the beat not eating, which worried Ilyra. If it didn't eat it would die, and that was the very last thing that she wanted to happen. If it died that mean the other one died for nothing, and the fact that it wasn't eating meant it wouldn't have a lot of meat for them to eat and it's coat wasn't as nice. It would be a meaningless death, at least the death of the other one gave them something.

After two more days of waiting Ilyra decided to release the animal. It was clear that it's will was stronger than hers and she wasn't going to get anywhere. Once again she capture it in the cloth, and carried it back to the location she found it in. Hopefully the other radaku would find it and things would be fine.
