Hial hummed as she swayed, moving along without a care in the world. She would be going on her second viking soon, and she felt less nervous about it. Indeed, she felt rather good about it... she told herself she would capture herself a thrall this time. If Feykir had done it, so too could she. She still had yet to see this little thrall of his, but she'd heard she was quite the beautiful lioness. Which only served to make Hial scoff... who cared of beauty when strength was really the most appreciated in this society? Still, she cared little for the mystery thrall already. Jealousy, she'd realized. It was quite sad, to be true. She ignored it, for the most part. Jealousy would do her little and less good, especially with such a shmuck. Feykir was her oldest friend, for sure, but he was little more. And honestly? She didn't want him to be anything more than that.
Besides, why focus on jealousy when she had more entertaining things to think of, like her next viking? She wondered how many of those she'd gone on the first viking with would return for this time. And how many new faces would be in the group? It hadn't been an overly large raiding party... nor had it been a very small one either.
She finally made it to a good watering spot and was pleasantly surprised to find it vacant minus one other lioness. And what a lioness she was! She was very large, she had amazingly lovely muscles as well. Hial felt envy while looking upon her. "Good evening, it seems you and I do not know of one another." But she wanted to know this lioness, wanted to recruit her. She would make an impressive viking, perhaps.

Tahki's gaze shifted away from the water when she heard the other's voice, her own expression was slightly guarded. She was still getting used to the lions around her, more boisterous than she was used to. She was pleased that several members had approached her though, and pleased that she felt free to approach others as well. More so, though, she liked watching the members more than interacting with them. Or perhaps it was because she was still getting used to things and found it helpful to gather intel on their behaviors, what behaviors were common in the lions around this pride. Some she could tell, or at least she thought she could tell, were like herself. Lions and lionesses who had challenged in, who were not born to the life.
She nodded her head and let her expression become something kinder, something more welcoming. "No, I believe we do not." The lioness was on the smaller side, but she had well defined muscles, she certainly looked as though she could hold her own in a fight. "I am Tahki, daughter of Canicus and Moja." She thought that was how they did it... and if it was not? Well she did it that way and that was good enough for her.
Hial's smile broadened, her tail flicking as she moved forward and made herself comfortable close by. She leaned down for a drink before turning her full attention to the lioness. Tahki! What a quaint little name. "Hialmdis, but feel free to call me Hial if it is to your liking. You're new, yes? The viking life is not for everyone." Her golden eyes slid towards the other female, watching, waiting.
Tahki smirked and nodded at Hial's words, considering. "I suppose this is true, but I feel deep down this is the right place for me. I believe your home... our home, holds many qualities of my birth home." It was comfortable, or at least as comfortable of a pride as she thought she would find. She would fit in well here. "What is it you do here, Hial?" She had seen the bards and the thralls, and from the first impression she had gotten from this female she already knew neither of these were suitable. Especially not a thrall... from the little she could tell thralls were on a level similar to servants or slaves, maybe. It reminded her of the stories her father told her, of when he was a cub. Before the slaves were freed... but the thralls here seemed to have less strict restrictions placed upon them than the past stories of the slaves from her father's childhood.
"Me? Well, a reaver?" Hial tilted her head, considering her own words. She grinned and chuckled a little. "I went on my first viking just a little while ago, actually. So definitely green, I guess. Not for long though, I'll get myself to captain one day. Become skilled and all that boring s**t." She shifted and flopped over onto her side, comfortable. "What about you, Tahki? You look like you'd make one hell of a reaver." She'd get this lioness to come with her on a viking raid if it killed her!
Tahki sat rigidly, though she was by all means comfortable. She looked Hial over again. The reavers were... something like warriors here, as far as she could tell. Perhaps the closest to a warrior she would get in the stormborn. "Reaver seems suitable to your physique. I too feel that it may be my place as well... but everything is still so new here, so unfamiliar. It is strange though... as new and unfamiliar as it all is... everything seems to feel... almost as though I should know it." She wondered if this would make sense to the other.
Hial laughed and nodded along. "I have heard some new members say much the same. I could... show you the ropes, if you'd like?" If she could get Tahki to agree it would mean she would definitely get this lioness into the reaver life! She was sure it was the right place for the other, and what sort of life was a life without a little viking to be done?
Tahki blinked, surprised slightly. She smiled after a moment. "Yes, alright Hial... I like the sound of that. I will be in your care then, since you will have me. I hope you will teach me well." She felt relieved she would finally have someone who knew what they were doing showing her the ropes, happy that she would not have to figure every single thing out on her own. It was certainly doable, but having another to show you the way often saved massive amounts of time.
