In better news, we mortified some of Mama's side of the family. They kept prying into what I did for a living. I tried to leave it at just a student, really I did, but they
kept prying and that
always ends so well.
Melisande told them I sang and danced. They asked in what. Since there were no children right nearby, I answered fairly automatically.

Three out of four had no idea what I meant and just nodded sagely. The fourth, a college-student cousin of mine that I've never liked, blushed quite stunningly and said I stripped for a living. Needless to say, they avoided us for the rest of the night.
