Were the outsiders going to help their people when the time came to fight the extremist Alkidike? Most of the natives to the area had their doubts. An argument had broken out in the market, verbal at first, but it wasn’t long before it became a physical confrontation. This prompt can be played from either side: your character can be the instigator, or on the defense. This battle prompt will be resolved by rolling 1D100. Prentice must roll 70-100 for success. Stage 2 must roll 60-100 for success. Stage 3 must roll 50-100 for success. Stage 4 must roll 40-100 for success. || Success will result in 50exp in addition to the versatile point || Failure will only allow for the versatile point credit. ((Ingwe Fails~)) Ingwe was out looking for Serr; now that he'd joined up with Talin's group he needed to find his friend and let him know.. and ask if he'd like to join as well. As he walked through the marketplace he heard rumors, ones that made him nervous. They'd just ended one war only to have threats of another! And the Shifters wold get hit the worst, he thought sadly; considering how close they lived to the Alkidikes and how they had to hare a jungle. And now that threat was causing tensions here; in peaceful Yera. A place that had been practically untouched by the Obans was feeling the tension now. If the Alkidikes did start a war.. would the newcomers to this place helped defend it? Ingwe thought the answer obvious; it was their home so of course they would! But apparently others did not share his optimism. If he'd still be here when (if) this did occur, Ingwe knew he'd fight! And he'd defend any place he called home; no matter for how short a time he lived there. Heras Box there you go, Ingwe wandering about... no fight just yet!

(( Whoo~ Sy succeeds. )) Sy had managed to make it to the market, though she was still trying to convince herself that these rumors were just that; rumors. She didn't want to think about a conflict actually happening here in her home. They had avoided the war with the Oba but did that come at the price of now facing the Alkidike's? With her basket in hand she kept her head down, trying not to over hear the whispered conversations as she passed. It was bad, the words she was hearing, and it made Syqvara feel as though she should be running to find a safe place.

Heras Box Yay she won! Wonder if this means they win as a team or she just wins? XD Either way is fine with me~ Ingwe was standing on his tip toes trying to see above the heads of people in the marketplace. Where was Serr? He was always about when markets took place since the crowd meant he could steal things better.... Hearing raised words to one side he flinched and backed up. That argument was getting heated and fast! I should get out of here, he thought as t he crowd swirled and ebbed about the raised voices. Backing up, he felt himself run into someone; "Ack! Sorry bout that!" He said as soon as he bounced quickly away, turning to face who ever he'd just run into.

robot kitten Not sure. XD But it'll be interesting to say the least. She caught the ends or was it the beginning of an argument that was taking place. Of course she was a short little leafling and couldn't see over the heads of others, so she didn't know what exactly was going on. However, the crowd was moving, and with it a body ran into her and she yelped a little at the sudden contact. With cheeks the color of roses she blinked and looked at the person who had bumped into her. "O-oh, it's a-alright." Since the male was facing her he likely didn't see the crowd opening up behind him. It thinned out and she could see past him at who was doing the arguing. Sy's eyes grew wide and she wanted to get away. Conflict was not her thing, even with her determination to become a leader of her people. Sadly, she could go no where, the throng of people had grown so thick.

Heras Box Since Sy rolled the winning number.. she ought to be the one to break it up 8D Hit people over the head with a basket or something? XD I'm thinking since Ingwe is not from around here.. the arguers will pick him out to start the fight. He's leaf, but he's from southern tale by oba~ As he was making sure that he hadn't spilled anything or knocked the girl down, he heard the voices of anger become directed at him. "Like you! You're not from around here! Probably just leave and go someplace else when the alkidikes start their attacks!" The crowd had thinned enough that Ingwe had been noticed. With his shaved head, spiked crystals and tattoos he was an easy person to remember... And Yera, while not small, wasn't too large and it was easy to spot non residents. Ingwe frowned and glared at him. "I'd defend it! But the alkidikes aren't coming here you buffoon... they'd have to go through the shifter's jungle first. Stop listening to rumors and thinking the worst!" Stupid idiots, he thought to himself as he glared at the slightly older men who'd been arguing. Pick on the smaller boy who's unarmed why don't you?!

robot kitten That's likely what will happen. I can't see her getting riled up enough to fight. XD "Like you!" Those words made her pause. Sy was close to the one they were pointing at and for the beat of heart she assumed they meant her. She was after all shy and did her best to avoid fighting. However, she was saved from having to respond as the boy spoke up. Syqvara bit down on her bottom lip and listened to what he had to say. He would defend this place even though it was not his home? It was noble of him and made her give the faintest hint of a smile. Her body seemed to relax even more when he said that the Alkidike's wouldn't come here.

Ingwe crossed his arms and glared at the other when he started yelling back; going on about traitors, foreigners who couldn't be trusted, the terror of the Alkdidikes and who knew what evil they were hiding on their islands. Until he couldn't stand it anymore. He stepped forward and landed a sweet almost perfect upper cut into the older man's gut. "Oh hush you. You're making things up! Alkidikes aren't hiding anything and all you're doing is scareing people." Why were people taking this sily rumor so seriously? Th Alkdikes had never left he jungles so why would they do more than attack the Shifters? If anything, we're the ones to blame with all our bandits raiding their jungles! Ingwe hadn't quite thought out what to do fro here.. he really just wanted to shut the annoying yell-er up... but apparently his actions were taken in a completely wrong way. The man's companions, the one's he had been arguing with before, jumped onto Ingwe; using his punch as justification to relive their stress and beat up a target that was okay....

When the strange boy hit the older man Sy's hand flew up to cover her gasp as she turned her head to look away. Violence. It seemed it was everywhere. She was standing still and closing her eyes, hoping her ears wouldn't need to be covered as well. Sadly, what she heard was sound of a scuffle. Syqvara quickly looked back to see if the strange boy was causing more trouble. Eyes wide she couldn't believe what she was seeing. "Stop! S-stop it!" Her voice came out shrilly. When no one seemed fit enough to listen she did something amazing. Syqvara took a deep breath and moved toward the bodies that were beating on the boy who had bumped into her. Brandishing her basket like a hammer she whacked most of the adults on the head. "Get off! G-Get off him!" The branches that made up the basket made a nice thunk and left a few scratches on the cheeks of some but for those that ignored the basket she shoved them out of the way. "L-leave him be!" With one particularly harsh push she got the last of the assailants off Ingwe but ended up falling so that her body was over his and shielding him from any more attacks. "Wh-what is wrong with y-you? H-he isn't an en-enemy!" Oh the normally shy leafling's face was the brightest color of red it could ever be. She was center of attention and defending someone at that. "Sh-shame on you all." Her attention then went to Ingwe, the boy who she was currently half laying on. Her bright green eyes searching him to make sure he wasn't seriously injured. "A-are you a-a-alright?"

Heras Box Now your shy girly gets to talk em down 8D I'll let you rp that out rather than rp the arguers... unless you want me to rp the npcs??? Sorry for multiple quotes, editing! Ingwe gave as good as he got; using some of the skills his new friends had been teaching him.... but there were more of them than him and they all outweighed the slight boy. He found himself pinned on the ground, with one guy punching him (and getting scratched in return by Ingwe's sharp head crystals) before he found a break to punch the man in the crotch and get to his feet again. It was a good thing that someone tried to stop it before he had gotten more than bruises. He was surprised when the girl he'd bumped into earlier had managed to break it up slightly..... He stayed down, rubbing a hand across his face to get rid of blood coming from his nose and split lip. "Ehh.. nothing worse than what I've gotten before." He said with a grin to the girl laying across him.

She saw the blood and instantly looked more concerned. Sy shifted so that she could use her sleeve to wipe Ingwe's face. "I-I'm sorry I c-can't heal y-you." And the only healer she knew that was close was having problems with his healing. The other healer likely left town by now. Chewing on her bottom lip she did her best to see just how badly the split in his lip was. It was all very bold of her but it was a step in the right direction. To the elder males that were telling her to get out of the way she simply looked over her shoulder at them with narrowed eyes. "I w-won't sit back a-and watch you h-hurt someone. A-are you all m-mindless killers?" Syqvara moved slowly to get to her feet and hold her hands out for Ingwe to take. This seemed to present an opporutnity for the men to go back at the leaf boy. One that ended with Sy being hit by accident. For a moment she froze. It was all too soon. How long ago had it been that her home had been invaded by a robber and she had been unable to defend the precious items inside? Those weren't living things, they wouldn't die or be seriously hurt or marred if she failed. Even with her passionate dislike for violence she couldn't let Ingwe be harmed due to these people and their fear. So that basket was gripped tightly and she came at them again. This time she caught them under the chin with a heafty blow then swung the woven thing in a semi circle to keep others at bay. "That is enough!" Her stutter seemed to vanish as she gave a bit more power to her vocals. "He is not an Alkidike and therefor does not deserve this treatment. Just because he does not live in our city does not mean he is not part of our people. The spirits are likely shamed by your actions here. These rumors are just that; Rumors. If you wish to know the truth then I invite you to travel to Jauhar and find out for yourselves. Otherwise, it's hearsay!" Done ranting at the people she turned once more to look at Ingwe and offer her hands for him. For now the crowd seemed to be shuffling uncomfortably, those who had been picking on the leaf boy were still angry but not quite as hot headed.

"I'm fine." He said, as he eyed the larger guys trying to get at him. Some of the crowd were trying to calm them down.. but it wasn't quite working. Guess I should have just walked away instead of punching the guy to make him shut up, he thought as he let her wipe some of the blood away. Then he got shocked; the girl who had seemed really timid and shy just... snapped. Snapped and yelled at men who could probably break he if they tried. "From someone who came from southern Tale... I saw no signs of any war other than the Oban one." Ingwe said as he sat up and eyed them. "Rumors sure.. but no Alkidikes other than the ones who were moving through or lived there... no threat, and none of them seemed aggressive." Of course.. this had been a month ago.... but still!

Hearing that he only saw peaceful Alkidike made her smile. That was good. Still she might want to check on her friend that sometimes lived in Jauhar. Giving her attention back to Ingwe she'd check to make sure the blood had stopped. Her sleeve would be used once more to clean up any remaining before she turned her eyes on those that had beat on the leaf boy. "There, see.. Rumors. Now apologize to him and be on your way." Sy was amazed at herself for being so assertive, though now that she knew what it was she was doing she felt the burning in her cheeks. Her heart raced and she hoped no one reported her actions to her mother, or worse; her twin. Going back to being the shy girl she stared at the ground.

Ingwe waved his hand. "No apologies needed... I did hit him first." He said wryly. "Though if he hadn't been so stupid I wouldn't have felt the need to." No way was he apologizing either! He could see the same feelings in the eyes of the others, so instead he slipped hand about her arm and started to drag her away. "We can probably leave though...." Once he was further away, he smiled at her; "Thanks for that. I shouldn't have hit him but..." He shrugged.

She was going to argue with him, thinking that they should apologize to him, but he grabbed her arm and started to drag her away. Syqvara went wide eyed and stumbled along, trying to keep up with him. He did have a point. Leaving would be best since she wasn't sure if tempers would fly high again. "U-uhm, no p-problem." Now he was sure to think she was an odd one. Just moments ago she didn't have a stutter and was slightly more aggressive, now she was a big ball of shy. "A-are you sure y-you're al-alright?"
