Vallen slunk around the forest just outside of the family home, he was hunting a sister..not the big one, she could sit on him, and he was as of yet not warrior enough to take on a full grown sister beast. He didn't think his sisters would appreciate the title but the word always made him smile. But he had another wonderful sister that he could pester and she should be around here somewhere with her interesting tiger stripies. Here kitty kitty~

He heard and imaginary noise and span his head, only to see another target, his brother, dear brother, again not the large one, but one his size. But they were brothers and in this together, maybe they could both go sister hunting.

He sidled closer to stare at his brother from the bush, a spoted radaku using its mystical powers to draw its friend closer.

Vuka liked to be outside. It didn't matter if there was anything to do or not. He had been trying to construct a grass whistle when he noticed a particularly large and colorful beetle crawling across the grass. He decided to follow it, to see where it was going at least as far as he could go without getting in trouble. With this distraction, he didn't notice his brother's slinking at first.

At first.

His eyes met Vallen's accidentally, and he was caught staring. Vuka stopped, blinked, and returned the stare. Okay, what was going on? Why was Vallen in a bush? He looked at the bush a moment, then his gaze returned to his brother.

Uhhh...

Vallen giggled at the look on Vuka's face. He waggled his eyebrows and mouthed. "Sister hunting, you care to join in?" He waggled his fingers too for extra effect. Two was a better number then one when hunting the elusive and powerful sister. Then he saw the grass whistle and forgot for the moment about huting Vep. "What is that?" he asked curiously and crawled somewhat less then gracefully out of his bush, upon initial inspection he had not noticed the thorns.

He was regreting that negligence now. Eventually he was free of the clingly plant and plopped down beside his brother. "I dont know where anyone else is, perhaps they are hiding." He plucked a piece of grass and tried to emulate his brother.. "I don't know how."

At first Vuka didn't answer, which was to be expected of him. He looked down at the now limp blade of grass in his hand and seemed to consider how to explain it. With his brow furrowed, he finally spoke.

"I saw a bigger kid do it, but I can't," the boy responded, then looked to his brother and offered the thick blade of greenery.

"Here, you try," he said, "You just, you put it between your thumbs and you blow, but I can't make it work." The sound the older boy had produced was terrible and wonderful all at the same time, and undoubtedly it would be pretty useful in sister-hunting. He plucked another blade from the ground and settled it between his thumbs, fingers splayed.

Vallen took the proffered sprig like it was a horn of glory. Hmm. It seemed to simple. But from the looks of things he only needed the grass and his hands. He put his lips to the grass and imitated his brother, but he couldn't make it work either the best he got was a wet kind of grunt and a whole bunch of slobber on his hands.

"Maybe there is a secret that he didn't tell you? I can't get it to work. What did it sound like when they got it to work? Maybe Kres knows how." Jungle forbid he had to ask a sister how. That would be sucky. He giggled, and chewed his piece of grass. "Ugh how to plant eaters even chew this, it tastes awful."

He plucked another piece of grass to try again. "Maybe we can use this like a battle horn once we get it going, I bet it would scare Seze and Ve." he said with brotherly evilness.

Vuka shrugged. "Like a horn?"

He watched his brother put the grass in his mouth and chew, and he winced. Gross! Of course like most little boys he found it amusing after a couple of seconds and a smile flickered over his face. He shook his head and discarded his own grass, plucking a new blade to try.

Somehow he doubted their sisters would be particularly frightened by the pathetic sort of cry he'd heard the older boy emit, but hey, they could pretend. Vallen seemed to be in a pretending sort of mood.

The boy folded the blade and put it against his thumbs and blew. Nothing. He bent his hands out further at the wrist. Nope. What if he brought them closer together? Also no. Vuka sighed and blew one final time, his frustration clear in his body language. His lips vibrated against each other, letting forth an odd buzzing feeling and also the defiant blow of a grass horn. He stopped abruptly and looked at the grass as if it had bitten him. Well listen to that! Could he get it to do it again? Vuka blew another zerbert and grinned when the whistle sounded again.

"Look!"

"Yeah like a horn, to let them know a great force is about to pounce them." He giggled, he always seemed to get a little more silly around his brother and more serious around his older sister

Vallen fidgeted with his own whistle, then dropped his grass when his brother made the oddest noise. He looked at Vuka who had the funniest look on his face. "Was that?"

Yup yup it was. "How?" He peered at his brother's hands, and adjusted a little and soon enough they were both making a wonderful racket. "This is so awesome!" Except after a while his piece of grass seemed to disintigrate somewhat, mores the pity, "That was so much fun." He plucked yet another piece, "Time to adventure now?" He asked.

After the first few delighted trumpets, the sound was getting to be a bit grating and Vula was glad to stop. He tossed his grass aside and wiped his hands together to get rid of whatever spittle had made it there and nodded.

"Sure," he agreed. More sister-hunting? "What do you want to do?"

Vallen sat back and thought for a bit but a scurrying sound distracted him, "Lets go find whatever that scurrying thing is! I'm curious and Seze says that curiousity is good...as long as its not a radaku but I don't think it is one since it sounded smaller? What do you think it is? A naughty poscuta got lost and scrambled right out of tale? A bigger monster type thing?" He shivered with a mix of fear and delight, perhaps that was what it felt like to be brave? Daddy hadn't explained that very well had he.

Vallen rolled to his feet and started tracking.."Looks like...maglardilla? Did I say it right?' He kept firing questions at his brother, Vuka was smart he would know!

Vuka heard the sound too but you heard lots of things when you lived in the jungle. It might be nice to go investigate every so often, though, right? The yard could get boring and there was only so much you could do with your own imagination. Besides, if his brother was going to run off and chase some weird noise, he couldn't let him go alone!

He nodded to Vallen. Yes, he'd said it right. Didn't maglardilla usually fly, though? Why was it running? Was it hurt? He eyed the tracks the thing had made and his brow furrowed. Hm. What would maglardilla feet even look like?

"I don't think it's too big," he said and then turned back and briefly considered the house. Would Mom and Dad be mad if they went off? Probably. They'd only go off a little bit, then, and if they went too far they could come back home and play pretend or something. He'd rather be hunting a real mystery than a sister, though!

Vallen scurried off not even thinking about the scolding he would potentially be in for when he got back for skulking around the forest no matter how close to home it seemed to him. He thought he could hear Vuka following and that made him a little braver, Vuka was dependable and solid and Vallen wouldn't trade him for the world.

The tracks led into a dry creek bead with larger rocks and Vallen lost the trail, "Huh, lost him." He started looking beneath rocks and under tree roots. "I wonder how big of a hole he can crawl into." Val didn't ask so many questions on purpose it just came to him naturally, Dad said it was normal for a youngling, but it seemed rather prominant in him. Vuka seemed more quiet, just drifting in the flow. Val wished he could be nice and relaxed like that.

Vuka followed close behind a little while and then jogged to catch up to his brother. If he was wrong and what they were chasing was big he'd rather be able to help his brother than watch him get eaten up. He really didn't think it was anything big, though.

When Vallen petered off and began digging through rocks, Vuka surveyed their surroundings. He didn't see any holes, but...? He looked up at the sky. Was there any movement in the trees? Had whatever it was climbed up or taken off? Or both? He squinted against the light shining through the leaves.

Meanwhile, Vallen had disturbed the resting place of a cluster of illo. Some paused, wondering if the youngling was going to eat them, and others began trying to make a squiggly break for it.

"Ew Illo!" Vallen said but despite his disgusted tone he watched the wormlike things with fascination. "Vuka! Illo!" If you got past their somewhat squishy icky appearance, they were almost pretty with all of their colros like that. Glowing brightly, everything seemed to glow in Jauhar it was cool.

He watched the bugs wiggle along for quite a while, upon loosing one he would find another to trail after for a while.

The scuttling noise came again an Vallen's head snapped up, "Its back." He whispered. He tried to get a glance of the creature from behind a tree, peeking around the side of the rough bark. It was a maglardilla, and it looked like it was limping. "I think your right Vuka, its injured but at least its not as dangerous as some of the other animals here."

"What do we do now?" He had got them there but he couldn't heal a bug...if they brought it home Skava might eat it...
PostPosted: Sun Apr 26, 2015 4:04 pm

Vuka perked at hearing his brother's exclamation but, upon realizing it wasn't 'oh by the moon, it has my arm!' he sauntered over casually and crouched to watch the little glowing grubs. He smiled. Their bugginess didn't really bother him as it was, but it was even less bothersome when you realized that they became pretty, fluttering creatures. It was weird to think that. How did they do it?

Just to gross his brother out, Vuka picked one up gently in his hand and let i crawl, thrusting it in Vallen's face. "Hah!"

But then it was back again. That sound. He turned to follow his brother's gaze, illo still in-hand. They'd found it, and it was a sad sight. It was never nice to see things hurt, not people and not animals. He crouched to place the illo back on the ground closer to the tangled roots of the tree and stood again, brows furrowed. They couldn't heal, definitely not, but then what were they supposed to do? Just leave it here? It might get better if they just left it, but people liked to eat maglardilla. His mouth scrunched over to the left side.

"I dunno," he admitted, and without warning began to move closer to the creature. Maybe it just had a thorn in its... plates? Could that happen? If it was something they could fix, he would like to fix it.

Vallen made the requisite disgusted face at the wiggling creature in his brothers small fingers. He considered himself a strong lad overall, but there was no way he wanted to touch one of those wormy wigglies. Ick.

Val trailed after his brother, at one point he split off to get on the other side of the bug which waved its legs in warning but showed no urge to fly. "Something wrong with a wing maybe?" Bending closer he got a sharp poke for his troubles and a hissing sound. "Sure fiesty" he said, poking back.

He pounced and did his best to pin the bug. "Do you want to try and see Vuka, your hands are more sneaky then mine."
