Tale was weird. There was so much here, so many people, so much greenery. It was very different from Sauti with its rocky outcroppings and uninhabited stretches of land. It was nice, though. The sun was still warm and the people kind enough if not a bit wary of hybrids, but who wasn't? For the first time Ime was wondering if her race impacted her sales. It was funny, but she had never considered such things when she was younger. She was still proud of her heritage, of course, but she understood that it might impact some people's opinions on her.
As of the moment, though, she was perfectly content, wandering the streets of the city and asking worn-looking folks here and there if they needed any help. She bit into a fruit purchased from a vendor, a special treat, and carried a little sign at her hip scrawled on a piece of leather:
Midwifery / Healing for Hire

Meri had found herself victim to her own clumsiness. She had misplaced the stick she used to defend herself and hunt bugs. In her rush to find it, she had stubbed her right big toe. It was bleeding and she could have sworn it was swollen. Not twice it's size, but enough for it to be noticible. Blegh. Could today get any worse?
It could. And it did. As she limped her way out of her house abd towards the street, she nearly walked into someone. This seemed to be a common occurance. She'd have to work on that. "Sorry, sorry!" She said. "I really need to work on looking where I'm going," She was about to explain that she had been in a hurry, that sh needed to find a new stick before the other prentices picked them over, when she noticed Ime's sign.
"Healing?" she asked. "Can you make something stop hurting?"

Ime likely wouldn't have noticed the girl if she hadn't spoken up. Clumsiness was just as common as grace. It was the word 'heal' that caught her attention. She had tuned her ears to certain phrases, and that was one of them. Her eyes went wide and she paused in chewing, looking to the Leaf girl.
She nodded after a moment and continued chewing.
"Mm-hm!" she sounded, finishing her mouthful and nodding. "Some things." She smiled and approached the girl properly, offering her hand.
"I'm Ime. What can I help you with?"

Meri took Ime's hand. "I'm Meri." She'd never met a traveling healer before! What kind of things had Ime seen? What adventures had she had? "Well. I stubbed my toe and it hurts," Meri explained awkwardly. Maybe Ime had more important things to do. People who needed her help more than she herself did. "See its bleeding on one side and kind of bigger than my other one. If you know how to fix it, I'd be grateful." She'd be able to walk without limping! Not that she expected instant relief: healing took time, and she was sure this was one of those things that would feel better tomorrow.

When feet were involved in healing they were usually broken or punctured, not stubbed. It almost seemed a little silly to tend to a stubbed toe, but a look down did show some blood. It didn't look like a wound that warranted any spells unless it was especially misleading.
"Alright, come over here and sit down." There was a short wall that Meri might hop on as Ime crouched before her, inspecting the toe. Was it broken? Dirty? Swollen?

Meri obeyed, sitting on the short wall and waiting. To be honest, she was rather curious about how Ime would go about this. She had never seen healing done in person. It intrigued her, more than her foot was hurting her. "I'm always getting hurt," she confessed, chattily. "I'm really clumsy and I don't always look where I'm going. There's always so much to look at, other than down at my feet!" She shrugged. "Maybe you could show me a bit."

"I'm going to touch it, okay?" Ime had learned fast that you needed to ask permission even if it was fairly obvious what you needed to do. People didn't always understand healing, and that was fine. To use product would be to lose money and need to charge, but magic was just a little energy expense and cost her nothing. It just looked like your usual stubbed toe, maybe a bit more violently than usual but not broken. After examining the toe gently she clapped her hands over Meri's feet and concentrated. Warmth and white glow radiated from her palms, and her brow was furrowed with focus as Meri chatted. She still heard, though.
"Hm?" she asked, not looking up. Show her what? How to not stub her toe?
