It was almost dusk and the tan lion padded silently through the prides lands. He really wasn't sure what he was doing at this point, just wandering around, lost in thought really. He was wondering how his siblings were doing. He hadn't seen them in a while and wondered if any of them had been caught up in the fiasco that the pride was currently facing. Rebels and what not. He wasn't exactly sure of his whole feeling on everything in general. His main concern was of the welfare of the pride and as long as he was doing his part to make sure everyone was fed, he was content. He did hope that his family was alright. He would have to make sure to check up on them here sometime in the very near future. However, now he was just making his way through the silent lands contemplating the days to come.

The pale furred lioness had thrown herself completely into her work, there was so much that went on, it wasn't as calm as her mother said the prides used to be, her one way to stay sane and motivated was to insure that she did the best at her job. Anyezi had two large rabbits in her mouth. They were her favorite to hunt - quick movers and could easily dive into a hole and disappear. They usually came out around this time of night and the pale yellow lioness had been very successful.
Proud, and excited to bring them back to her grandmother, Anyezi's confidant, she had a happy pep in her step.

He almost didn't spot the female in the waning light. Her pelt caught the rosy hues of the sun and the soft tans of the sands if you looked at her just right. He changed direction and headed towards the lioness. He hadn't much opportunity to meet with many of the prides members and he figured now would be a good a time as any. Plus it looked like they might have something in common to talk about, he noted as he caught sight of the hares in her mouth. He came within talking distance of the pale female and he gave her a friendly smile, just in case she was in any way unsure of his attentions and he came to a pause not too far away. "Nice evening for a hunt, no?" He said gesturing to the prizes she held in her mouth.

At first Anyezi startled, lost in her own thoughts she didn't see the male. She looked him over deciding if he was someone she wanted to bump into when the hour was so late. His markings looked familiar, and the pale lioness could guess who his parents were quite easily but for the life of her could not think of the other lion's name. His mother was
She dropped her catch daintily and replied, "My favorite time of the day. Are you out for a hunt as well?"
"I don't think we've ever been properly introduced," of course being in the same pride there was the possibility. She wasn't a guard, and she didn't have her mother's knack for faces. "I'm Anyezi."

He watched as she was startled slightly, she must have been lost in thought as well it seems. It was a nice night for it. He watched as she dropped her catch and he gave a small shake of his head. "No, not this evening." He said taking a seat. "And no, I do not believe we have not." He said with a chuckle. Anyezi, he was sure he'd probably heard her name before, but the time was lost to him. "It's a pleasure to meet you Anyezi. My name is Gwaihir."

Anyezi had a broad smile and sat down herself. Gwaihir, she'd have to remember that. Times were different now and exactly the same, new leader, not knowing who to trust. She trusted family and mostly those who were around before the king - although that didn't really matter did it? Shangyue had supporters somehow or he wouldn't be in power.
She found herself at a loss of words to say, but he seemed nice. "Did you have breakfast..or dinner?" Some of the Mwezi'johari stayed up all night staring at the sky and others stayed up during the day. Her personal preference was hunting during the day and sleeping at night.
Anyezi pushed one of the hares forward with her paw, "If you're hungry, I'd gladly share."

He watched as she relaxed and made herself comfortable. She seemed alright, though he hadn't really had an issues with any of the lions that supported either side. He truly didn't agree with how things ended up but his main concern was that of the pride and it's well being. "I have not." And now that he thought of it, he hadn't eaten since early this morning. His stomach seemed to grumble with the realization and he smiled as she offered one of her hares to him. "You don't have to do that, but if you're willing to share I'd gladly accept." He moved forward and picked the creature up in his mouth. He backed up a pace or two and lay back down and waited to see if she was going to eat as well. It was only fair to allow the lady to start first, it was her kill and it was just in his nature.

She beamed, hunting was after all her job, and sharing food was something that Anyezi loved to do. The little warren of hare were not easy prey, but they were fun and a good snack. She'd pick her grandmother up another hare in a few days once the rabbits became certain she wouldn't return.
"Oh I love sharing," she smiled and took a bite of her meal. She didn't have very good dinner conversation and she pondered a subject to talk about.
"I love my job," she said between bites and chuckled a little bit, "There's something so exciting with the thrill of the chase!"

As she started eating he began to share in the hare she had so graciously given to him. "I couldn't agree with you more. There isn't anything more fulfilling then the moment in which you return with your prize." He said happily munching down on the crunch bones in the legs of the hare. "So you're a hunter to then?" It was probably a silly question to ask, but there was no taking it back now that it was out.

"Yes, we must be apart of different hunting troops," she smiled and nodded. She spent a lot of time socializing with just her family, there was after all so much of it within the pride! Her mother may not have been Unyezi's daughter, but with Nerit as a mother they were all family. She spent a lot of time with her slave brother, Andama, and with her grandmother, also a slave.
"Are all of your siblings hunters?" She asked not wanting to seem odd she added, "you all have the very distinctive wings on your coats."
"I think my family looks a lot a like, but we're all so many different ranks, hunters, slaves," kings "priests." She continued, "The Great Lion looks on us all differently." She sometimes wondered about litters who were not all the same rank, like her mother's friend Hecate - they were guards, hunters, slaves. Anyezi herself was quite religious but she knew that often second generations or new comers to the pride don't always have the same feelings.

"My siblings are a mixture of Hunters and Guards." He thought about it for a moment more. Yes, all hunters or guards. And he looked back at his markings and she was correct. Had he met others of his family? He listened as she talked about the different ranks her family held and thought it crazy to have so many different positions held within one family. He wasn't sure about any of his grandparents but his mother was a mid-wife. Beyond that the positions they all held were pretty much one or the other. "Thank you. Does your particular coloring run in your family?" He asked. He enjoyed the way the two complimented each other.

AstoriaFallen Crap, I meant the king thing to be apart of her thoughts/not for him to hear. XD She nodded her head as he spoke smiling, it was very fascinating to hear about the way The Great Lion looked at them. Clearly, some lions planned a litter, she'd heard about that, but there were also times when a lioness had children on a different moon. "I look a lot like my mother and older siblings, the yellow color, but we're all a little different," she thought for a moment, "more blues in my family really, but that's from my grandfather Unyezi, and the browns are from my grandmother Nerit." She didn't mind talking about her family, they were her whole world, and Anyezi did not pick up on any of Gwaihir's feelings of silliness. She was just happy to chat, happy to share a meal with someone.

He looked much like his father. He thought about it for a moment and realized that only one of them looked like their mother, her vibrant yellow. He was the only that looked like father, the rest got their coloring from grandparents. Funny how that worked. "I myself look like my Father. A brother resembles our mother, but the rest." He gave a small chuckle, "You'd think they were adopted. They look like our grandparents apparently."He had never met his grandparents so who's to know really for sure where they got such colors from. The wings however, they all had the wing markings. That was what made them known to be siblings. He recalled the fondness to which she had said her grandfather and grandmother. "Have you gotten to meet your grandparents? I've never met mine." He wasn't sure if those names sounded familiar to him or not. He honestly should know more about the pride and its histories... He frowned at himself slightly for being so poor about names right now.

"Your wings are very noticeable," she commented, "I don't know your family well, maybe just talked to them for work, but you look a lot like your father," Anyezi hoped he wouldn't mind her comments. "Sometimes it's so weird to see another lion that could be one of your siblings and they're some distant relative," she laughed along with him, she understood how that went, her grandfather had other children before her grandmother and some of them and their children looked like her other aunts and uncles. She was related by marriage or blood to most of the pride. Unyezi was her step-grandfather, but still her grandfather. "I don't know much about my father's family," she confessed, "but I know my mother's family, my Grandmother and Grandfather are the Mother and Father of Slaves." She wasn't used to that title or rank, the new king had given it to them. Oh, no! Speaking of her grandmother she'd forgotten she wanted to see her tonight, "Oh, I promised Grandma Nerit I'd see her tonight." She looked slightly distraught, "It slipped my mind, I've had such a nice time talking."

"You seem to know a lot of the pride members." He said with a warm chuckle. He was pleased to see that their family was well noted then.
The names he kept saying. He really felt like he should somehow know those names but for whatever reason he must have not been paying attention when he was a small cub.
Mother and Father of Slaves? He furled his brow at the title. He still wasn't too keen on all the changes that had been going on since the new king took over. He could tell by the way she said it that it wasnt something she was used to saying aloud. He wondered what they held before that title. He was about to ask but it seemed to be she had just remembered something much more important than his silly question he was about to ask.
"I'm sorry to have kept you then. Please, don't keep her waiting on my account." He said giving her a bow of his head. "I pray she's in good health and I had a wonderful time as well. Perhaps we shall meet again."
