 HP: 20It was time for war. Time for battle. This was not Gilberts first engagement, and thus he knew that before he went running out into the fray, there were some things he needed first. He needed to be properly prepared! Gilbert had geared himself with a small med kit and a days worth of rations hidden inside the loose folds of his costume. In addition to several throwing knives. he had chosen to gird himself with unflattering and plain looking weapons, as he had no intention of keeping them after soiling them on tainted blood. Gilbert had begun his trek by circling the camp in a outwards spiral. No cursed was going to get past him and to his Lord! He paused however, as somehow a pebble had managed to work it's way into his slipper. Kneeling down, he pulled the slipper off and concerned himself with rooting out the offending object instead of paying attention to his surroundings.

 HP: 20Cearo had heard her mother's orders. Take over the Carnival and make them suffer. Turn the carnies to be just like them. She smirked, biting her bottom lip a bit in the progress. She scanned her surroundings as she approached the Carnival. ...There! Gilbert seemed distracted enough and any advantage she could get she would take. Anything to make this carny suffer. She dashed into a sprint and remained silently as she drew in closer. Only before she was upon him did she growl menacingly, fist already lined up to slam against his head.

HP: 17 Gilbert was pleased when he located the pebble. Such a small thing to cause such a great deal of discomfort! As he held the pebble between his fingers something growled nearby. Gilbert lifted his head just in time to catch a punch to the face. he was fortunate his mask absorbed the blow, but that didn't mean it didn't scramble his brains a little. Gilbert toppled backwards, his slipper flipped through the air and flopped a few feet away from him. "Damnation!" The carny cursed as he clutched his masked face and rocked into a sitting position. Peering through his fingers, he snapped his free hand to loosen a dagger from within the sleeve, and snapped it at his attacker. "Abhorrent abomination!"

HP: 19 "What fancy words you speak..." Cearo snickered as she caught the blade in her hand as she advanced forwards. Looming over Gilbert her tail swayed behind her. "I don't know why Mother went after such a weak bunch of loons to convert but... it will be fun watching you all suffer by the hands of your own God!" Her grin turned twisted as she wrenched the dagger from Gilbert's hand and tried to drive it through his knee.

HP: 16 Blast! Gilbert didn't think he had managed to inflict a wound on his attacker. He removed his hand from his mask and placed it on the ground as the cursed beast approached. Uneasy tremors traveled up his spine at the nearness of the cursed. "Your quiet opinionated for such a ignorant beast." Gilbert growled behind his mask. Poised as he was, he waited for the creature to launch another attack, which was soon to come. Gilbert braced back on his hands and swept his legs to the side like a gymnast. He felt his own blade slice through the thin material of his pants, catching and cutting him lightly as he spun around on his hands. His legs swooped upwards as the carny spun up into a handstand, then lashed out in a twisting upside down kick at the creature.

Cearo did not account for one thing. The Carnival was a place of varying skills. While someone could look absolutely harmless it did not mean they lacked the ability to surprise in a fight. She clearly misjudged her opponent! Trapping him in close quarter combat would apparently be difficult if he kept such rebounds up... like the kick she received, knocking her to the ground. Her hand placed itself over where the foot had landed. "No matter what happens the Carnival is as good as ours! You won't win. That much I'm certain of." She snarled and positioned herself on all fours. She lunged towards Gilbert but instead of tackling him she landed beyond nd struck at him with the tip of her spiked tail. HP = 15

HP: 13 Gilbert ceased his spinning the moment he felt his foot connect. That had felt like quite the solid blow. He arched his back and with a flip returned himself to his feet. "I am the jester but clearly you are the one Fooling yourself, if it is you believe such drivel. The carnival is, and always shall be Venezias." His attacker was continuing to jabber on, and he tensed when she lunged. Honestly he had expected her to try and tackle him. So when she moved past him he was caught off guard a bit. Gilbert spun about to face her, and received a very harsh tail lashing. The carny grunted in pain as he took a step back, but he was quick. A dagger slipped into his palm and he lashed out at the tail as Cearo withdrew it.

HP: 11 Cearo shrieked when her tail was slashed. Such a prized possession of hers. A testament to her mother's perfect DNA. She looked at the bleeding wound with a bit of horror. However it was hard to tell with the scowl on her face and visor blinding the world to her eyes. "How...dare you!" She snarled and lunged for the carny, aiming for his neck.

HP: 11 Gilbert could see the handiwork of his attack in the blood that flowed from the cursed tail, and upon the blade he held. "My dear, Daring is what we carnies do best." Gilbert mockingly retorted as he posed one foot in front of the other in a little performers bow. He kept his eye on the creature though, and when she came at him, he leapt like a stage performer to the side. Not fast enough to avoid her attack, but quickly enough that he wouldn't find himself missing his vocal cords. Gilber twisted his hold on the bloody dagger and swept it upwards at the females nearest arm.

HP: 8 Cearo cursed when she couldn't get a good grip on his neck. So much for crushing it! Before she had the chance to step back she felt a gash make its home on her arm. Instinctively pulled the injured arm away, trying to block out the stinging pain. With her good arm she balled a fist and took a swing at Gilbert's mask.

HP: 10 Gilbert saw the balling of the fist and assumed, correctly it seemed, that she was going for his mask again. The carny jerked his head backwards and recieved something more along the lines of a rough bapping from her fist. Immediately Gilbert snapped his left foot up, in an attempt to catch the creature on her chin. "Heh heh. What? No more quips and taunts? Merely unrefined words of verbal vexation? Ah, I have flustered this dear monster have I not?" Gilbert cockily taunted.

HP: 4 Cearo was livid. This damn masked fool was hellbent on trying to best her! She wasn't going to stand for it any longer. "You're not worth wasting my breath." The words were snarled before she felt the foot bash into her chin. The pain sent stars but she quickly latched onto Gilbert's leg and pulled as she fell down. If she was gonna go down she'd take him with her.

HP: 6 Gilberts hubris led to him falling beside his opponent. He went down with a small cry of surprise, and felt something twist most unpleasantly in his leg where the female had grabbed him. With tears of pain budding in his eyes, Gilbert pushed himself up with one arm. He lifted the hand with his dagger and attempted to drive it down into the females body. "Then you ought not have attacked me beast!"

HP: 2 Cearo grinned and caught the blade. "Oh no, my attack here serves a purpose, even if I fail." She laughed through the pain, almost delirious in nature. She applied all the force she should to wrench the dagger from his hand, hoping to snap his wrist in the process.

HP: 2 There was no hiding the fact Gilberts wrist snapped like a brittle tree branch. The dagger fell from his now limp fingers as pain shot up his arm and seemed to reach right into his brain. Of course he screamed, but he was so close to blacking out he wasn't even aware of doing it. With his ankle twisted and his wrist broken, Gilbert pushed himself up on his good leg. He formed a fist with his good handband attempted to punch the female in her face with a another scream, though not of pain, but rather rage.
