Raemos breathed into his hands to warm them before putting them back in their gloves and picking up his weapons once again. He was bundled up well, with a few runes to warm him on his patrol of their Aisko camp.

He and Maeron had set up here, and would progress deeper into the frozen wastelands soon when they had their bearings and had recovered from the journey to Aisko. To that end, Raemos was hunting – both for dangers and for food, and thus far, he had not met with much success...

Twice now she had run into an Oblivionite, twice now she’d had to have him fight by her side. Xenosa felt like she was somehow losing her edge if she needed to be saved by not only a Khehora but now an Oblivionite. She felt the tug of something, deep within herself. She didn’t want to fight, she wanted to have kids. Yes, Xenosa had been yearning for children since she’d gotten stuck with Keke and all the Khehora children. But what was she to do? Aevah had forever imprisoned her, chained her to a man who could not give her children.

“You again?” Xenosa had stumbled on the Oblivionite once more.

“Me again.” Raemos observed wryly, smiling at the Orderite. “We do seem to be running into each other often in this cold land.” He inclined his head in greeting, “Shall we search the area for a dragon then?” he asked, only half joking, “Since they appear to follow us, we may as well get a head start on exterminating them.”

“I do not need the help from an Oblivionite.” She mumbled as her eyes scanned the area. She did however spot a dragon. “Tag, I see one. Shall we play who kills it first?” Her swift fingers had already grabbed onto one of her throwing blades as she made her way towards the dragon at a running pace. She wasn’t beyond a little competition to prove that the Orderites were the better of the two races. He’d beat her to the two previous kills and she would not let this one slip from her. All she needed was to reach it first.

“Why not.” Raemos said, amused. His magic gathered around him, his shadow extending from him in a serpentine coil. He leapt, flapping his complex wings to flank the beast. He was not a competitive individual – one less dragonic threat in the world was good for all – but if she wanted a competition, he would play her game.

The dragon shrieked as he sliced its flank in midair and landed in the snow, his wings arranging themselves into a compact fold. The dragon retaliated with its sturdy tail, knocking him down.

His ribs were bruised, but he dodged, rolled, and attacked again, his shadow connecting to the dragon's shadow, and starting its fell work...

When Raemos passed her, Xenosa let her wings spread from their tattoo and push her to faster speeds. The dragon was distracted and so when the first dagger pierced its eye it shrieked back moving away even from Raemos and clawing at its face. There was no relenting from the Orderite, she flew a tight circle around the dragon’s neck, plunging her longer dagger into the fleshy part of its neck and leaving a long open gash. It could no longer make a noise and with the Oblivionites work the dragon slowly died. Xenosa plunged her dagger right into the dragons skull.

The dragon fell to the ground and Xenosa settled back onto the cold dunes. “A quick death is the only mercy.”

Raemos recalled his magic from the disintegrating dragon, his silhouette gaining a disturbingly shadowy aura for a moment before the magic reabsorbed into him. “If you feel like giving a dragon a merciful death” he commented, “Then I see no reason not to.” He, personally, had seen too much trouble wrought by dragons to give them any more consideration to mercy than he had to, and only then because a quick death meant less danger. But his magic, with living things, was ultimately slow, and a sword's blade – though fast – was uncomfortably close to a dragon's claws.

He picked up his share of the dragon soul and turned to her. “Since you are leaving us,” he said, bowing slightly, “I wish you well.” he smirked haughtily, “And since trouble seems to follow you, perhaps you need all the well-wishing you need. Even...” he chuckled darkly, “From an Oblivionite

“I need nothing from an Oblivionite.” Xenosa said dead serious as she stared at him. She then went to pick up her prize and turned her back to him. Now why in the world did he think an Orderite would need well-wishes from an Oblivionite? And why in the world was he dressed as he was… Xenosa eyed him curiously though it may have very well been another grimace. “Good bye.” She did not plan on seeing this one again.
