It was late afternoon. The sun shone down, glittering through the leaves of the giant trees that covered the forest. The rays were warm on Amaranth’s skin as she lay peacefully, curled up against a large tree root that was partially above the ground. It was probably uprooted by another animal. But Amaranth didn’t smell any other animals, so perhaps whatever it was had left a long time ago, which meant she was safe.
Losing her sight, had at first been a major blow to her. But over the years she had come to terms with her blindness. She even noticed that her other senses had become that much more powerful. And she took new joy in hearing and feeling things like she hadn’t before.
She took in the sounds of the chirping of the birds, the crackling of the brook running through the trees. Everything was right with the world at this very moment. She yawned and stretched, groaning as she cracked her back. “It’s so nice….” She spoke aloud, even though she was alone. “I’ll have to make this my special spot,” she decided, nodding to herself.
She debated heading back to the warehouse district. She figured Odette might be looking for her. But at the same time she did not want to leave. “Just a little longer, that should be okay…” she whispered. “Maybe I’ll even take a swim while I’m here…” she trailed off, as if in deep thought.
Her ears flicked back and forth, picking up new sounds. She was pretty sure she had heard something unfamiliar, something out of place. ’Who else could be out here?’ she wondered, suddenly becoming worried. She frowned a little. Would she let that bother her? Perhaps she was just being paranoid. “Who else would be out here in the forest anyway?” she questioned, sniffing the air.

Toshiro was out moving through the trees. He was monitoring his mothers territory while she was away trying to free Mir from the shelter. He was making sure to keep his siblings that were still here with him and his mother safe too. Ru was at the house and while he was working on trying to get stronger and more tough but he was not near Toshiro or Iones skill level or even Kaiens. So Toshiro was protective of his little brother too.
He walked along enjoying the noises of the forest, his forest, his familys forest at this point. He and his siblings had been born here in this forest. Taken and then brought back. So much had happened here and he loved all of it but he was nervous about anything happening while there was so little of his family here to help protect the area. He headed towards an area that he hadn't been to recently and he froze. Smells...female...someone was here. He stood, hand resting on the hilt of his sword as his golden eyes scanned the area and looked for the source of the smell.
He heard someone say something and crouched down, heading towards the voice. He had half pulled the sword from the sheath when he came around the tree where the smell was, when his eyes found the female, blindfolded though armed to the teeth. "The one who lives in the forest is out here in the forest too. Who might you be miss?" he asked as he settled, but kept his hand on his sword, ready to draw in a moment if she pulled one of her weapons.

Amaranth tensed at the sound of a sword being drawn. Was it the enemy? What were they doing all the way out here in the middle of nowhere? Then she heard a voice, and the scent of a male cat wafted over her. So he lived here? That would mean she was trespassing. She was still hesitant though, unsure if she should trust a stranger. Should she grab for her weapons? If she did, there was no doubt she would most likely start a fight. So instead she chose her words carefully. “I apologize. I didn’t know anyone lived here. I was just out for a walk; enjoying nature….” She trailed off, hoping her explanation for being out here was good enough.
She listened carefully for the stranger’s movements. Hopefully he would put his sword away. Her tail flicked back and forth in anticipation. She was indeed curious about anyone who would choose to live in the Forest. She had been so used to the Warehouse and it’s lack of human residents. How nice that was. For she hated humans. When she thought about it, the Forest seemed like another ideal location with no people. If she had been looking for a new place to live, surely this would be the spot.
Realizing she was becoming lost in thought and hadn’t answered his question; She decided, in a last attempt to show she meant no harm, she would introduce herself. Maybe he had heard of her? She had been the head of a territory at one point. Though that seemed long ago.
“My name is Amaranth….” She began. “What’s yours?”

Toshiro looked her over, he had seen the small bit of a flinch as she thought about grabbing her weapon but he was glad to see she thougt better of it. He didn't want to have to hurt her. She might be able to handle her self, she sure looked it, but he was no push over either. His mother would have his hide if he lost a fight, though against a blind female who was rather cute she might not skin him alive.
"Amaranth huh. Nice name. Im Toshiro." he said as he looked over her. "I do live here but this area is my mothers really. If you do not intend to steal it from her or fight me or her for it then your welcome to stay as long as its just for the day. Unless you need some help. I can help if you are in need of it." he said as he crossed his arms, trusting that she ment no harm to him or his mothers territory. She was cute, he wanted to know her more if she was going to stick around. She looked like she had an interesting story though and he was not against keeping an eye on her if she was wanting to stay around.
