Rosalyn
The sky was grey and there was a drizzle hanging in the air. As long as it was there, Rosalyn was unable to properly hydrate her flowers and it was only after inhaling their sweet scent and taking a long drink of rose water that she calmed herself, despite this worrisome knowledge. Many of the flowers planted could do with the extra water, they'd soak it up and be happy as ever, but it were her fickle roses she was most concerned for.
Everything will be fine. Rosalyn told herself, gazing at the sky and wishing that it would let up sooner, as opposed to later. Why, it almost looked as though the sky was weeping too. With a sigh, she shook her head. Dark days were often days she got dark visitors too and while she wasn't looking forward to such an interaction (she never did) she would by no means turn them away. Until they appeared, whoever they were, she would just have to keep busy... Somehow.

She was a selfish individual who did not know what love was, she knew of the emotion and had witnessed soquili say they were in love, but she had never felt its warm embrace, not even from her own mother who had left her and her brother. Perhaps she could have loved her father, but he had given up the search for Bex’s mother so quickly that she lost respect for Cedric and her heart turned cold toward him. The closest thing to love was the affection she had for her brother Calixto; when their mother vanished they only had each other and when their father found a new mate, they bonded in their dislike of their new perfect half-sister, Seline.
Together they devised an insidious plot that would rid them of their half-sister forever. It was easy to plan, easy to discuss, easy to implement, but not easy to live with the guilt. In the beginning Bex had been glad to have Seline out of her sight, Calixto and she even had lies to tell their father and step mother about her disappearance. She had been wooed by a stallion and run off with him; Seline’s parents were saddened by her disappearance but glad that she had found love. It was all so easy, and she was no longer being compared to the perfection that was Seline. But as the months started to pass an emotion began to creep in and it was an emotion that the grey mare did not enjoy. Guilt consumed her, what had they done?
Bexoi had many negative qualities and very little good ones; in the beginning this did not bother her, but now she wanted to change. But it was hard to change the very essence of a person; she had always been jealous, rash, impetuous, and selfish. It had been a few months since she had come to the realization that what she had done was wrong and had set upon the path to right her wrongs. The mare had traveled across the land searching for the Story Master but each time she drew near ones that knew, they seemed to vanish without a trace.
Looming grey clouds drew the mare out of her thoughts and caused her to look around at her surroundings; if it was to pour she would want to find shelter for the duration of the storm. It was then that splash of color in the distance drew her attention. Bexoi galloped toward the red against the grey and stopped when it came into focus, it was a garden and what had lured her were vibrant red roses.
Movement drew Bexoi’s blue eyes to a brow mare with a rose marque and she gave a little start, “Uh… Hello there.” She shifted where she stood, not really sure what to do, since she had not expected to encounter another soquili out on a day like this, “Lovely roses you have here.”

Rosalyn
There was a lingering tension in the air and Rosalyn knew better to than to believe it was just the gloomy weather. Someone was carrying a burden on their shoulders and this someone was approaching her garden quickly. She turned to see a flash of grey and blue step into her garden and she gave the new mare a smile. The tension was momentarily replaced by a general awkward sense, Rosalyn must've not been expected by her companion.
"Thank you, my rose garden shelters me from much of the stress that comes from more... populated areas. And the trees about keep much of the rain away as well." At this, Rosalyn looked up at the trees and at the pieces of sky she could see through the foliage. It looked as though clouds were gathering. "I wouldn't be surprised if it rains soon." Pink eyes turned back to the flutter mare, "If you'd like, you may stay here in my garden until the skies clear again. I, for one, do not take fancy in traveling during a storm; it can be very dangerous." She said wisely, before adding with a friendlier tone, "Besides, it's been a while since I've had visitors, and I would be most happy for the company."
