AVA MELANIE IRE Game day. Jameson High was up against their rival school and god was it intense. It was like everyone at each school hated each other. Like, took all the hate that they had and put it into this. It was almost like the Montagues and the Capulets. Even the nerdiest and the geekiest kids were involved.
Ava, however, was on the cheersquad and got to represent the school, y'know, along with the actual football team. She had been forced to join the squad since her brother was in football, but god did she love it. All the girls were surprisingly sweet and they were quite accepting of her sexuality. See, Ava was a full on lesbian, even though some guys had tried to prove her wrong. And when she got on the cheersquad, she finally accepted it, even if she hadn't come out to her parents yet. She felt like she would soon though, she just wanted a girlfriend that she could do it with. But for now, she lived in secret, shouting cheers and looking fierce, curly locks bunched up into a high ponytail. Ava even had on war paint. Blue, yellow, and black lines, representing the school colors, on each of her cheeks. The other team was just about to come in, so every kid in the bleachers, on the team, and even in the squad started yelling, music to her ears. These ___ bitches were going down.

ᴋᴇɴᴢᴏ ᴏᴅᴇssᴀ ᴄʜɪʟᴏᴍʙᴏ.__ ___ ___ _________________________ "Christ, it's hot" was all Kenzo was thinking about. She didn't care about the unnecessarily noisy and competitive teens running their mouths off on the bleachers, swearing on their multi-colored gods that their school was better, she just wanted some damn ice water. Game day was whatever to Kenzo. Everybody in her school Cyprus Bay knew she was in there because she pulled some flips and s**t in the hallway one day as a joke she and her squad was making, and to avoid suspension she had to join the cheerleading team. She got away with a lot because her older sister was student body president and often bargained with faculty members to get Kenzo out of trouble. Turns out the cheerleading coach was desperate. Long story short, Kenzo Odessa Chilombo was the missing key to the cheerleading group and bumped the squad to one of the top teams in district.
Today, however, was just another stupid a** game of football, and them throwing pompoms and bussin' splits on the field to keep the crowd's adrenaline going -- how fab. "Can someone pass me a bottle of water, it's blazin' fire and I'm sweating out my bantu curls!"

AVA MELANIE IRE Ava watched the other team come in, one cheerleader looking less excited. Bantu curls and figure for da gods. She sure was cute though, so when she called out for water Ava grabbed one from her side and walked over to the other team. With a smile on her face, she handed it to the other, trying to be friendly. "Are you new?" She asked as music started playing, indicating that they would be starting soon. "I'm Ava." Her hand extended, hoping she wasn't secretly competitive or anything. Or straight. God if Ava could count how many times that happened she would be insane.
When she heard her name though, she turned her head and saw her team members calling her back. Nodding, she turned back to Kenzo and gave a shy smile before jogging back to her team. "Don't you catch feelings." Her cheer captain spoke as Ava chuckled.

ᴋᴇɴᴢᴏ ᴏᴅᴇssᴀ ᴄʜɪʟᴏᴍʙᴏ.__ ___ ___ _________________________ Kenzo shook and fluffed her hair up, licking her lips, and squinting her eyes at the team on the other side of the field. Blue, yellow and black figures giggling, flipping their hair and tying their sneakers. Kenzo scoffed, "Cheerleaders..." she thought. The moment she was going to pull her attention away from the competitors, she noticed one cheerleader in particular running towards her general direction. Kenzo looked around to check if anyone else noticed her -- or if the girl was running towards someone or something other than her. Kenzo- Odessa got her answer when the cheerleader with the big curls stopped in front of her and asked if she was new. "Umm... yeah." Kenzo glanced down at the girl's hand as she offered it to her and introduced herself as Ava. Before she even bothered to give her name she opened the bottle of water and drank her heart out, letting out a sigh of relief. "Thank god for sending you..." she muttered loud enough for Ava to hear and smirked mischievously. Kenzo opened her mouth to say her name, but a teammate beat her to it, "Yeah... that." She rolled her eyes and turned her full attention to his group.
So in a good five minutes the game will beginning, and Kenzo was to lead all the routine stunts. The crowd was cheering louder than the actual cheerleaders probably ever would, and the guys sitting front row cat called at Kenzo and the girls as they bent over to tighten their laces. Majority of the girls huffed angrily at them, the other girls pulled down their skirts, giggling embarrassed. Kenzo just carelessly flashed them once more and left them in their shocked silence. "Position girls!" She yelled at the squad, snapping her fingers with authority, and found her own place in the line.

AVA MELANIE IRE Ava tightened her ponytail so her hair wouldn't snap out of it like the last two times she had practiced and picked up her pompoms. Most of this game would just be them shouting and lookin' pretty, but it still gave her something to do. Plus, she could eye that girl. Kenzo was her name, right? Interesting. She must have been the Kenzo she had heard her teammates talking about so much. The girl looked like she would be really good anyway, both personality and physical wise.
With a sigh, Ava half-assedly practiced the routine they had to do in a bit and looked around as the game began to start. An announcer spoke up on the speakers as the audience cheered, putting a smile on her face. Her team smiled and shouted before each doing two backhand springs each, just warming up. "Let's get it Warriors !!"

ᴋᴇɴᴢᴏ ᴏᴅᴇssᴀ ᴄʜɪʟᴏᴍʙᴏ.__ ___ ___ _________________________ The girls were hyped. The crowd was hyped. The football team was hyped to the point where you can hear them despite them not even being on the field yet. Everyone seemed to be off the walls except Kenzo and her squad of friends sitting the bleachers just to represent her and smoke chain a couple blunts as the game went. Kenzo licked her lips, and put her hands on her wide hips. Her eyes stayed pinned on the Cheerleaders across the field -- the warriors. She raised a brow at them, she knew they spoke of her, too. Just about every cheersquad in the district does. Normally along the lines of "too good to be a newbie" or "too cool to be a cheerleader", both said with the slightest hint of sarcasm. Kenzo on the other hand, couldn't careless. The difference between this cheerleader, was that this one had wing liner sharp enough to kill a man, enough shade to throw to save Australians from heat stroke, and big curly hair full of secrets. She scanned the group, some of them attempting to stare her down, but not getting the chance to since Kenzo barely gave either of them enough seconds of her time to establish the staring contest. Then... her honey brown eyes landed on Ava. "Was she that cute when she first spoke to me?" Kenzo thought, tilting her head and letting out a "huh..."
"Kenzo Odessa Chilombo, I'm calling you for the last Damn time!" She snapped into reality, she spun around to face the voice that called her -- her cheer coach. "I'm here though! What's good?!" She responded, getting a couple giggles from the other girls. The coach sighed and repeated herself once more, "Your cheer captain called, said she got caught up on the way. I need you in charge. Don't fail us." Kenzo rolled and scoffed, "You mean don't fail me."
The announcer began to call out for the beginning of the game, both teams chanting what Kenzo and her friend called "the cult war cry". The opposing team shouted their, "Let's go warriors!" Meanwhile, her team -- Black Panthers -- growled like wild cats, some even going as far as getting on all fours. Either way, Kenzo thought they all looked like a bunch of nut jobs. She sighed, shook her hair one more time, stretched her arms up to the sky, and led her team center field backflipping and spinning mid-air, landing in a graceful split, with two other girls following behind her, doing the same. What do the drama kids say? Enter with a "bang"?
