Ciel had lost track of time, she was supposed to be home hours ago. But really it wasn't her fault, it was a combination of a really good book and really good tea anyone would lose a few hours in her place. Once Ciel had finished her after school Archery practice she went to one of her favorite Cafes to read La Morte Darthur. She was so excited to read it that she hadn't noticed when the sun began to set. The girl ran down the dark street her white coat trailing behind her. When a scream stopped her dead in her tracks. Is someone being attacked? she thought. I have to help them. She changed her course and headed in the direction of the sound. The scream sounded fairly close. This is my chance to be a true hero. Ciel thought as she turned a corner.Noir Songbird Here's a start let me know if I need to change anything

If there was one thing Mimisbrunnr hated about youma, it was that they were so damned hard to distract. They were simple, singleminded creatures, and the oversized mutant canine-esque creature she was after was no different. It had locked onto some poor civilian and seemed one hundred percent determined to drain the poor woman's energy or eat her or...whatever youma did to people.
An officer, Mimis could do some dramatic posing, get their attention, and give the civilian time to escape. This thing? She'd had to chase it down and whack it across the muzzle with her bow before it paid any attention to her.
"Go, run!" She told the woman, taking another swing at the beast.

Ciel saw a strange sight when she turned the corner. She saw a woman wearing a weird blue and white techno outfit being chased by some sort of monster dog. Why is this woman dressed like that, is she doing cosplay or maybe she's one of those LARP people I've heard about. Ciel noticed the weird glowing blue bow the woman was carrying. Is that a toy, it kind looks like its made of glass. I kinda want one.
Ciel shook her head. Now isn't the time to be thinking about that, she's clearly being attacked I've got to help.
So she ran to intercept the monster managing to tackle the creature and get it in a choke hold. Unfortunately for Ciel she had miscalculated the monster's strength and so once it recovered from its shock it simple got up and shook her off. She hit a wall and had the breath knocked out of her. She had at least managed to take the creature's attention off of the woman, as the monster eyed her with hungry eyes.

"Mule give me strength," Mimis swore to herself. The civilian she'd been paying attention to had the good sense to run, but she hadn't noticed the young girl until she attempted to tackle the youma.
It went horribly, and now she had someone else to protect.
"Are you alright?" She asked, and there was a strain of panic in her voice. The girl couldn't have been more than 14, younger even, she looked so small and fragile and... "If you can go, go! I have this under control!" The beast snapped at her, and she took another solid swing with her bow, sending it backing up.
"Te kurel!" She swore. "Back, you damned thing!" Ancestors, she wished she had something better than a bow, or magic that would actually hurt it instead of just confusing it. Was it even smart enough to be confused by her spells? Probably not.

That really hurt. Ciel thought once she had gotten her breath back. The strange green haired woman was fighting with the monster, smacking it with her glass bow. I want to help. She's protecting me. I hate it, I should be protecting people not cowering while someone else fights for me. If only I was stronger, I could help. I know how to fight but that things just too strong. Ciel felt tears of frustration at her weakness forming. What if this woman gets hurt protecting me cause I wanted to play hero. Darn it Ciel can't you do anything right. As if in answer to her plight a golden bracelet suddenly appeared before her.
Ciel was confused by the strange floating object and as she reached out to touch it something awakened inside of her, she had changed somehow.  She felt... stronger. This is my chance, I don't know what happened but I feel like I can fight that thing now. She charged the creature ducking under its front legs as it reared up to swipe at her. She drove her shoulder into the beast and pulled both its back legs out, slamming the creature hard on the concrete.

Mimisbrunnr felt the breath go from her body for a moment, because there was, suddenly, a new Page aura - she watched the girl take her weapon and Awaken, in the middle of a fight just like Mimis had.
And there she was, charging in at a creature she definitely had no idea about, fighting because she was just that brave. Yeah, she reminded Mimis of herself, a little, but fortunately for this kid there weren't two bloodthirsty officers here. Just a youma.
"That's great!" She encouraged, bringing her bow down hard on the youma's head. "Just keep hitting it, it'll turn into dust and then that'll be it!"

"What do you mean dust?! Um ok just hit it, I can that." Hyperborea threw the monster again as the strange woman hit it again with her bow. The canine like creature got up and snapped at Hyperborea's arm. She just barely avoided the monster sinking its teeth into her forearm. She grabbed the fur around it's neck and fell back throwing it over her as she did. before it could get back up Hyperborea drove her knee into it's neck with all of her weight. The monster then turned into dust, just as the bow wielding woman had said it would.
Hyperborea got up, trying to catch her breath. "What...what was that thing?! And what happened to me? Whats with this outfit?" She asked looking over her strange if cute new outfit. "And Whats this?" She asked holding out the golden charm bracelet that had no attached itself to her wrist.

Seeing the brand-new Page dust her first youma was something of a delight for Mimisbrunnr. She brushed herself off, and walked forward, holding out a hand. “You’ve just become something very, very special.” She said, and she reached her other hand up to pull down her mask, so she looked, hopefully, more friendly.
“I’m Mimisbrunnr Squire of Mercury. And you are a Page of…” She considered for a moment. Gold, white, a touch of iridescence- oh yes, she knew those colors. “Cosmos, if I know my Knighthoods. What’s your name? And I don’t mean the one you’re used to. There will be another, you’ll know it.”

A name did come to Ciel, one she had never heard before but knew it belonged to her. "Hyperborea." She said almost absent mindedly. "Pardon but did you say knighthood....that I'm a page, like a knight-in-training page?" Is she making fun of me. But wait I just meet her there's no way she could know about my dream to be a knight, right. So why would she make something like this up. She must be telling the truth then. I...I feel like I've fallen into an anime or something. Hyperborea's excitement was quickly building. I don't understand it but this means I'm a knight, a knight of Cosmos what ever that means and this woman here she's a knight too well a squire she said but still.
"This isn't a dream right? I'm not on some sort of practical joke reality show?" Hyperborea looked around for the nonexistent cameras.
"So I'm actually a knight! Ce est le moment le plus heureux de ma vie!" She let out a childish squeel of joy and threw her arms around the woman in a hug, unable to contain her excitement at her dream (which she never thought would actually come true) actually coming true.

Mimisbrunnr laughed. Oh, to be a new Page again, in a situation far less scary than her first Awakening. She would have to do for this girl what Babylon had done for her - explain as much as she could about Knights and Knighthood.
"Hyperborea of Cosmos," she said. "Yes, you are indeed a Knight in training. No joke, no dream, just actual real magic." She had never seen someone so delighted to find they had powers, but she was happy to return the hug.
"Oh, there is so much I'll have to tell you," she said. "So much you'll need to learn." It wasn't all sparkles and rainbows.

"This is so cool, I always wanted to be like a knight but now your telling me I'm an honest to God page, and a magic page too!" She said in glee as she released the older squire from her hug.
Hyperborea looked around and noticed a bench outside of a small clothing shop. "If there's alot I need to hear maybe we should sit down." She took a seat and waited for the other woman to join her.
"Ok I'm all ears, tell me what I need to know. I promise I'll do what ever I need to do to become the best knight possible." Hyperborea said with sparkles in her violet eyes.

Mimis sat down next to her, and she carefully felt around - no Chaos in the nearby vicinity, which meant it was safe.
"Alright, I'm gonna try to give you the basics, here," she said. "But there's someone you should definitely go see - another Cosmos Knight. Her name is Hvergelmir, and she's in North End Park every Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday. She's...she's really wonderful, and she can teach you a lot." Hver had bene a guide and a freidn to Mimis, and sending this new Cosmos Page to someone in her own Order seemed like the best idea she could possibly have.
"So, Knights and Knighthood." She grinned. "There are a lot of Knighthoods - and eachof us is tied to a place, to our Wonder, which is where our names come from - Mimisbrunnr, and Hyperborea - and a planet - so Mercury, or Cosmos, though I guess Cosmos isn't really just one planet." She exhaled. "Somewhere out in space, there's a Hyperborea waiting for you." She smiled faintly.
"Everything else, I can teach you, but there's a lot you won't be able to do as a Page, like magic- that'll come as a Squire."

"Wait a second so there's some place in space I'm named after, thats amazing. Can I go there, wait would I be able to even breath if its space?" Hyperborea was a little sad to hear she couldn't use magic as a squire but that hardly mattered since she was still so excitted to hear she was this mythical knight from space.
"So this Hvergelmir is the same order as me, so she's like my shield-sister." The word came to Hyperborea from her love knights and medieval culture, and it sounded alot cooler to her than just calling someone a comrade. "I'll definitely see her." Hyperborea was excited to meet this person.
Hyperborea listened attentively to Mimis' explanations.

"You can go there!" Mimis said. "And you should, as soon as you can, because you need to get your signet ring - this thing," she held out her hand, showing Hype hers, "so you can use it to communicate. You can uh, send letters, or if you get a little extra attachment you can make calls!"
She folded her hands. "That's a lot of what there is to get basic Knighthood stuff - beyond that, there's...there's the Negaverse. We fought one of their monsters; they're called youma, and they go after people and try to drain them and kill them, but they're like...like rabid animals, usually. The best you can do for them is dust them like we did. Officers are even worse because they're thinking human beings and they choose to be evil and depraved and cruel." She curled her hands into fists.
That wasn't entirely fair, she knew not every officer happily served, but the image of Hver and Kairatos when she'd picked then up int hat parking lot in January refused to leave her mind. "They're terrible and they hurt people and they want to take over the planet."

"Wow so they're like black knights. Ok I think I get it, so we're supposed to protect innocent people from those monsters and from these Negaverse people." Hyperborea was excited, while she didn't like hearing that there were people out there hurt innocent folk this was her chance to be a true hero.
Hyperborea looked up at a nearby street clock "Holy cow, its that late already! Papa's gonna kill me. Sorry Mimis I really have to go. Thank you so much for everything you taught me." She gave Mimis a quick thank you hug before dashing off down towards her home.
