The Main Hall

The great hub for all the guild locations. The Main Hall is in the center of the guild and has hallways that lead to every other location, from the team room wings to the guildmaster's office and other varying places.
It can be a bit confusing at first for new members so getting lost is quite common, but there are handy maps on the walls at certain points to help you along!

Gale
Gale had never been fond of the scarf his mother had made him, it itched something fierce and didn't really protect him from the elements, but he held on to it. It had been her first attempt at doing anything motherly and she had seemed so proud when she presented it to him with her paws covered in tiny bandages from multiple needle pricks.
As a result he accepted it graciously and never told her how much it annoyed him to wear, but that was love wasn't it?
Being bothered by something but accepting it and not condemning the other for it.
He had a feeling his father knew of his dislike toward the scarf as the Rhyhorn had chuckled under his breath every time he watched Gale put it on, but neither let Tempest on to the fact that she wasn't exactly seamstress material.

The Pikachu, now pacing through the Main Hall with no real destination in mind, simply ambled about in his thoughts as he waited for something to catch his interest. The guild, thus far, was proving to be somewhat boring.

(Don't mind me, Rae. Just sneaking this in here for reference since I'm editing the first post to be an area location.)

Cimmerian

Cimmerian was lost. He had thought it would be a good idea to get a grasp of the layout of the guild, but that was proving to be quite untrue. He was in a hall of some sorts, and though he could tell where he was, he didn't know how to get back to his quarters. Instead of turning back when he had felt he was getting turned around, he had trooped on and stubbornly ignored his instincts.

Now look where that got him. He stood still, messing with his uncomfortable new bowtie and finally giving up on trying to figure things out. It's not like he couldn't figure things out later. In the meanwhile, he tried is best to think of something else he could do that wouldn't make him look like a fool. His ears twitched at the sound of soft footsteps coming from off to the side.

A Pikachu was nearing him at a meandering pace, looking quite bored with his life. The Luxio found his eyes drawn to the bright scarf that looked a bit more uncomfortable than his bowtie. At least he didn't have to wear that.

Gale

He didn't have many thoughts to be lost in, Gale was a simple Pokemon who didn't stress or idle over things too often and so he was usually alert to his surroundings at all times. The second the Luxio came into view he was vaguely aware of his presence though he made no eye contact immediately. He had an interesting coloration, though the Pikachu was one to talk, of such dark fur with bright yellow markings acting as a stark contrast against it. Whether he meant to or not Gale slowly found his eyes drawn to the Pokemon and as their paths brought them closer and closer together he finally stopped in his tracks, paws up to adjust his scarf.
"Hello." It was a calm, simple greeting with a friendly tone, almost rehearsed as though he were reading from a script.
As far as social interaction went the Pikachu rarely got any back home and all he knew was learned from his parents. Fortunately he took his laid-back father's approach to things rather than his fiery mother.
"You must be one of the other new members. I'm Gale from Team Amethyst." His blue eyes glanced off to the side briefly and then back to the Luxio, "We're Explorers." He added on as an afterthought.

Cimmerian

Cimm had been practically transfixed on the scarf as the Pikachu approached, so he had only himself to blame for letting his yellow gaze meet the strikingly blue stare of the other electric type. He felt a bit of apprehension when the yellow creature stopped and made his greeting. Quite a polite fellow.

"Name's Cimm," he replied begrudgingly, wondering if her was going to regret giving out his moniker to the stranger. He involuntarily shrugged to himself at the pessimistic thought, almost as if to tell himself that what was done was done, "A Hunter with Team Moonlighter." His poker face never wavered as he spoke, and his tone became low as his nervousness subsided into its usual neutral state. The feline thought for a moment before deciding to chance continuing a conversation with Gale, even if he didn't expect anything to come out of it really.

You know where we're at? He asked, mentally slapping himself for revealing indirectly that he was lost. Not that he usually made good first impressions anyways.

Gale

His dull tone hadn't seemed to bother the Luxio, nor did the feline's harsher voice bother him. Gale listened intently, ears flicking lightly before he offered a small smile in response to the introduction.
"Cimm." He repeated slowly, testing the name. It was an odd name, he wondered if it had any meaning behind it. It made him think of 'Cinnamon' for some reason and the thought had his stomach twist in a cruel reminder he had skipped breakfast that morning.
The Pikachu's expression seemed dazed and thoughtful at the others question and a light chuckle escaped him as he realized that he himself did not know the answer.
"I came from that direction. That's...really all I know." This guild's layout made about as much sense as a pair of glasses on a Zubat.
The electric mouse lifted a paw, tapped it lightly on his chin, "Glad to know that-uh-I'm not the only one lost." He smiled gingerly, settling his paws back down to his front.
"Maybe between the...two of us we can figure it out then?"

Cimmerian

Gale was an oddly slow speaker, Cimm noticed, and he wondered if the Pikachu had a few screws loose. Taking a closer look, the luxio noticed that the Pikachu's speech wasn't the only thing different about him. The rodent was a bit on the large side for his species, and his coloring was muted. Before he could think further on the matter, Gale finally spoke.

"M'not lost," he muttered the lie under his breath, knowing that he'd be caught in his indignation if the other pokemon heard him. That, and the slight smile on Gale's face pushed aside a little of his skepticism. He knew the Pikachu wasn't mocking him. At least not intentionally.

"Fine, I don't have anything else to do, anyways." He admitted with a huff, figuring Gale wasn't too irritating and he may as well go along with it since they couldn't possibly become more lost than they already were, "I was hoping there'd be at least some sort of excitement going on, but of course there's not when I need some." Cimm complained, mostly to himself, but it was always nice to have a listening ear for his depressed rambles.

Gale

His sensitive ears flicked upward at the near silent mumbling.
Not lost? Had he misunderstood the other's prior comment? He had asked where they were, or maybe he had been asking if Gale himself was lost in a sort of odd way. The Pikachu's quizzical expression faded as the Luxio agreed to go about exploring the guild with him. That was nice. It was never fun to walk alone and his partner was a bit on the bossy side. He only hoped the rest of the Pokemon of this guild were not quite as snobby as Percival. That Joltik had some issues.
"It is rather..." He paused, considering the best word to use, "...bland around here. Then again the guild is still new." Gale smiled thoughtfully, the new teams were still getting settled and he doubted anything too exciting would happen anytime soon.
"Do you have a partner yet?" More-less, 'did you finish your first mission yet?' went unsaid.
A gruff electric type like Cimm? He had probably gotten that bow for the Guildmaster a lot quicker than Gale himself had. Then again it was his own fault for going to the Frozen Wastelands, that terrain was not made for heavyset Pikachu to walk on.

Cimmerian

A grimace briefly made its way into Cimm's features at the mention of his co-leader. Just thinking about the annoyingly high energy aron made him glad he was not with her at the moment, "It's one of the reasons I'm out here, and not in my room," he huffed with his ears held back to display his annoyance.

A thought hit him and made him wonder if Nuna had escaped their quarters and was tracking him down. He wouldn't put it past the rough pokemon to knock down the door he had barred from the outside. Hopefully she was still napping.

"I should've gotten a partner I can actually get along with for all the trouble I went through to get one. They need to run background checks," Cimm commented as he pushed his other thoughts aside, tail twitching in a dismissive manner. He eyed the other electric type curiously, not sure whether the Pikachu was the leader of his team or what.

"Do you have a partner? Cimm echoed the question he was asked initially. He'd heard him say 'we're' earlier, but all the feline really was interested in was whether or not Gale shared his misfortune in the partnership relationship department. Downer he was, Cimm secretly hoped someone would have it worse than he did.

Riley

The Espeon made his way down the hall, tail swishing merrily as he walked and a slip of paper tucked jauntily into his hat band. He hummed to himself as he made his way through the area, gazing around the room with interest: it was similar to the old Guild in so many ways, yet altogether different if you thought about it too hard. The Psychic was on his way to meet up with his newly-assigned partner, but he'd decided to take the long way so that he could see a bit more of the Guild as he went. If he recalled correctly the Partner Assignment Office was just down the side hall before him, but he stopped in his tracks for a moment to gaze up at the ceiling, marveling at how pristine it looked. Back at the old Guild, the ceiling had been broken in more times than anyone cared to count, but here the structure was still new, and quite beautiful to look at. Riley smiled to himself with a hint of dark amusement, wondering just how long it would stay like that. Engrossed as he was in admiring the structure of the building, the magician didn't bother to consider that he was standing in the way of anyone who might be headed to collect their partner as well.

((Shawny gave me permission to post a little interlude here, so that Luna and I can straighten something out for our co-op Team--we'll keep it quick!))

Ghost

Ghost padded down the hallway, her silken, fluffy white fur still buried beneath a thick pink towel as she walked. She had taken the time to bathe and dry the mud from her stunning white pelt, but she had also taken care to wash her borrowed towel. It was, after all, a generous gift from the Guildmaster. She just wished it were hers to keep- as it stood, it was probably just something to borrow until she was able to return it properly.

Lost in her thoughts, she did not notice the young Espeon until she was tripping over him, the paperwork in her mouth spilling across the floor as she face-planted the polished stone.

She squeaked painfully, rolling back onto her belly to find out what she'd collided with. "I'm so sorry! I-I didn't mean to- I m-mean I didn't see you- ...I'm sorry! Are you alright?" The Absol tripped over her words repeatedly, nervously sidestepping as she waited for the inevitable anger that was to come. There were a lot of papers scattered everywhere, and she truly hoped that none of them belonged to this Espeon.

Riley

Riley was startled from his thoughts by the feeling of pressure against his back, and then the sudden sight of white fur flying across his vision as he was toppled to his side from the force of the larger Pokemon's weight against his own. "Ooof!" The sound came out involuntarily as the wind escaped his lungs for a brief moment, and his hat toppled off his head, rolling off to the side. The Espeon was on his paws in another instant, eyes wide with surprise as he stared down at the Absol amidst the papers that were scattered like petals all around her. It took only a moment for her to roll over and begin apologizing even before she rose to her feet. Goodness, she was a nervous one: it reminded Riley uncannily of Erinn.

The Espeon smiled, posture relaxing as he straightened his cape with a flick of the tail. "I'm perfectly fine," he said breezily, "Don't give it a second thought! The name's Riley." Raising a paw to tip his hat and finding it absent, the magician glanced down to spot it a little ways away on the floor. With a pull of Psychic energy, the hat came readily to his waiting paw and he smiled, bowing to his Absol companion with a proper tip of the hat this time. "It's a pleasure running into you," he said with amusement, "But your tumble looked far worse than mine, Miss. Are you alright?"

Ghost

Ghost smiled weakly, both confused at his good nature and appreciative that he hadn't turned to yell at her. She would certainly have deserved it, bumping into him like that. She should have been paying more mind to where she put her feet.

"I'm... I suppose you can call me Ghost. I had to invent a name for my guild paperwork- I don't normally have one," she felt a little awkward with the introduction of names. A lot of Pokemon here seemed to enjoy using them, so she supposed it was only right that she have one. "I just rather look like one."

The Absol was quickly calming from her nervous, flustered state, though she still appeared a little apprehensive. She was very much a loner. "Regardless, I am alright. I've taken worse tumbles than this; I just should've been more careful."

She spared a glance for her paperwork, cringing at the sight. "It's been very exciting to meet you, but I'm afraid I have to gather my things and get going. I'm a bit late for meeting my new partner."

Riley

"A name you chose yourself?" Riley said, grinning with approval, "How exciting!" His own name had nothing at all to do with his choices, but that was a part of why he treasured it so much: it was a gift from his mother that he could hold on to his entire life. The Psychic wondered just what they called each other around where she came from if they didn't use names, but his companion seemed to be more than a little uncomfortable with the whole affair, so he didn't pry. "Well Ghost then! I'm glad that my unfortunately-timed musing didn't lead to anything worse than a collision." The Espeon took full credit for the accident: Ghost had been carrying quite the stack of papers it seemed, so it was no wonder she had overlooked him--one rarely expected to find another Pokemon standing in their path after all.

Taking quick note of the Absol's worried glance at the ground, Riley stifled a smile, but couldn't help letting it spread across his face when Ghost mentioned where she was headed. "Oh, you're off to meet your partner too?" he remarked pleasantly, "I was just on my way there myself. I'm excited to see who they've decided to pair me with, but I thought it might be nice to get a look at the Guild beforehand." Raising a paw to show her his partner voucher, the Espeon found himself grasping at nothing more than silk--the charm was there, he felt its hard metal as always, but the paper must have fallen out when he'd been parted from his hat in the moments prior. "Silly me," Riley said, chuckling, "I seem to have misplaced my voucher. You don't mind if I tidy things up a bit so we can sort through them, do you?" Settling back on his haunches, the Espeon raised his front paws and brought them together in a gentle gesture. The scattered papers responded to the motion by collecting themselves together into a line, and with a flick of the tail they had righted themselves into an organized pile. "I wouldn't want to pry through your paperwork, so could you see if my voucher's anywhere in there?" he asked. Ghost would find the papers to be in perfect order when she parsed through them, as though the pile had never been dropped to begin with; Riley simply waited, pleased with his work and hopeful that his voucher card would be easy for the Absol to locate within the pile.

((I mentioned the word card in that last sentence and immediately ended it with deck instead of pile. Clearly we're a bit too eager for a card trick.))

Ghost

Ghost stared awkwardly as she watched the Espeon compile all of the papers into an orderly pile. It was such an eloquent process, with each paper carefully sliding into the appropriate place in the stack. When he was finished, the papers were neatly organized once more, and each page was perfectly aligned with the one below it.

"O-oh. I'm sorry your voucher got mixed up with my paperwork." The snowy white Absol seemed embarrassed, settling down to sit and leaf through her paperwork for Riley's missing voucher. "I'll do my best to find it," she added, missing the magician's mischievous intent. If he was to perform a magic trick, she seemed unaware of it.

For a moment of two, she was silent, quickly leafing through the paperwork to find the correct papers. She counted through a few files, some regarding her entry mission and others touching upon her partner application. She'd been nervous to find out that she'd be working with another Pokemon; surely she could complete a job without assistance? It was guild policy; however, and she was obliged to respect it.

The Absol then frowned, as she carefully pulled two vouchers from her stack of paperwork. She'd forgotten that she too would have possession of one of these, and more importantly- that it didn't have their names on either one. Each voucher instead had a serial number, as proof of authenticity, and presumably the guild identification number for their new partners. She glazed over for a moment, trying to remember which voucher was hers. "I don't suppose that you'd remember which one was yours, would you?"

Riley

"Hmm..." Riley said, stealing over to the Absol's side to get a closer look at the papers she held in paw. They were utterly identical aside from the numbers on them, and he hadn't bothered to look at his own assignment too carefully. In truth, he hadn't the slightest idea which one belonged to him, but he doubted that Ghost had any idea either since she'd asked him about it. That left only one option.

Riley closed his eyes for a moment to clear his mind, only opening them again when he'd done away with the excess thoughts. There were traces of memory that could be found in every object in the world, something he'd discovered over his years as a Psychic; the trouble was, they were terribly difficult to find. Having not been born with the ability to sense such things, Riley wasn't particularly skilled at finding these echoes. They were out of other options though, so it couldn't hurt to try.

The Espeon's ears twitched as he felt the stirrings from the pair of vouchers, both of them wrapped in memories of where they'd come from. He searched for his own imprint on the cards, which would indicate that it had some sort of connection to him, and found to his surprise that both of the vouchers hummed with familiarity. Riley stared at them in surprise, wondering what it could mean: he'd never met Ghost before, so there was no reason for her voucher to resonate with him at all. He glanced up at the Absol, looking for anything recognizable in her face, but all he saw was what he'd noticed in the past few minutes. Frowning, the magician looked down again. "Give me just a moment," he said to his companion quietly, hoping the words wouldn't break his concentration. "I've almost got it."

He stared down the pair of cards intently, alternating his gaze between the two of them. The first seemed to feel more...immediate--like he'd brushed up against it recently. The second though--the second felt richer; it was a more distant echo but it resonated with a familiarity that made the other paper seem to pale in comparison. It was difficult to say just what he was thinking as he reached up and plucked the second voucher from Ghost's paw, acting under some level of understanding far greater than his own: Riley was still uncertain, but the pulse of Psychic clarity urged him on without hesitation. "This one's mine, I'm almost certain," he said, holding the paper gingerly in his paw as though it might vanish before his eyes. Glancing up at the Absol, he smiled sheepishly, "Sorry that took so long," he said to her, "I have a hard time using my Psychic sometimes. In my line of work it wouldn't be fair for me to use it you see, so I've taught myself to ignore it when I'm around other people, except for the basic stuff." His words were entirely true, if not exactly in regard to why this had taken so much time, but it was easier this way: explaining the concept of Psychic vibrations to a non-Psychic was a difficult and time-consuming task--Riley himself had been a Psychic for years now and still wasn't sure he understood the whole thing.
