Right down the street a new bar had recently opened up, and finally having the time to do so, Heidi decided to check it out. There was no where else like a bar on a Friday night where she could have men vying paw over tail for her attention, and she sure did love it. Sauntering through the front doors, she barely glanced around before striding immediately toward the bar, taking a free seat as far away from other as she could. The key to getting noticed was to distinguish yourself. Which, frankly, Heidi knew she didn't have to do - she was striking enough of her own accord.

After ordering an Old Fashioned she glanced around, noting the bar's exceptionally dim lights. Nothing like some poor lighting to induce poor choices in the early AM. Once the drink arrived, she began to sip it, continuing her search for tonight's prey. While she enjoyed certainly enjoyed being hit on, she heavily preferred the chase. Nothing like a satisfying game of cat and mouse to end the evening on a high note. However, so far Heidi spotted no one that captured her attention. It wasn't like she had a type - just tonight, she felt a bit off. Completely unusual for her; it must've been the earth off its normal rotation for Heidi to feel off her game, particularly on a weekend. It was for this reason she was absolutely determined to take home the hottest Noodle she could find tonight. 'Let the games begin,' she thought with a smile, eyeing the door for anyone more suitable to enter.

Initially Jayden had considered staying in for the night. However, a close friend of his had mentioned that a new bar had opened up down town. There were sure to be loads of hot ladies flocking to the place, looking to have a good time and possibly score a walk home with a devilishly good-looking, maybe slightly drunk man. So, after little needed convincing he had dressed himself up and made his way to the bad. Of course, shortly after stepping in he received a message from his friend apologizing, that he could't attend. That d**k, some wing man he turned out to be.

It's not like Jayden couldn't score a lady on his own, but he had been looking forward to some bro time in the event that there weren't any hot desirable ladies in attendance. At first glance he didn't notice any spectacular catches. "I suppose I'll get a drink first." He made his way to the bar and ordered a classic fire ball shot, something to get him a little buzzed for the scene. To carry around, he ordered a simple jack and coke and stepped away from the bar. Now, did he want the ladies to come to him, or should he go to the ladies? both ideas were tempting--

"Is that Heidi?" He hadn't seen her in so long. It was like one second she was in his life, and the next she was gone. A little panicked look crossed his face, after all he had been hurt by her leaving. perhaps she was the only girl that had ever caused him to have such feeling.

Walking through the door Heidi thought she spotted a ghost. Eyes wide, she nearly spit out her drink at the sight of him. Immediately she spun around, facing the row of liquors lined up behind the door. 'What the hell is he doing here?' Heidi had run into past hook-ups many times. Sometimes it was awkward, but it was bound to happen when she continued to frequent the same handful of bars week after week. But an old boyfriend? She's never had an awkward encounter with one of those, because she'd only ever had one boyfriend - Jayden. And now she could sense his presence about ten feet to the right of her.

Heidi was a complicated soul. Free spirit, that kind of thing. Getting tied down wasn't really her cup of tea. She much preferred to be on her own. Jayden had been different. Well, the same as her - they were practically identical in personality. But he had been different for her; she actually enjoyed spending time with him, developing some pretty deep feelings for him. But that freaked her out. Freaked her out the the point that one morning she pulled the same move she pulled on every other guy - a complete disappearing act. Years ago. And she hadn't seen or spoken to him since.

Composing herself, Heidi decided to improvise. Hoping she looked a lot more casual than she felt, she began glancing around the bar again. Spotting him, toooootally for the first time, she smiled and loudly said, "Jaaaaayden? Is that you?!" She cringed a bit at how shrill her voice sounded, but decided to commit, grabbing her drink and slinking over to him, immediately enveloping him in a quick hug. 'Am I shaking? Holy s**t I hope he can't tell I'm shaking.' This was bound to be a trainwreck.

Jayden couldn't exactly admit to himself that he hadn't been hurt by Heidi's sudden disappearing act. While he was away that they had the same ways with relationships, he had felt their's was different from those he had had previously. There had been no boredom with Heidi and most other girls in his life would eventually become dull. There had been talk of living together and he had even started to make the arrangements when one day Heidi was just gone. He had spent some time trying to find her, but in the end had felt his heart break for the first time.

Needless to say, since then he had reverted by to his old ways with women. if anything he was even quicker to leave them than he had been before meeting Heidi. Any talk of real feelings had him running away at this point. He had some to the bar that night simply to find someone to have an enjoyable evening with and nothing after that. So why was Heidi here? And why was she saying his name and coming over to him.

There was a flash of panic on his face at first, but he forced himself to calm down. He didn't exactly want her, or the other people around him, to see just how flustered he was. He thought he had gotten over her. But just at the sight of her all of the memories came back. He embraced her back when she flew into his arms, it took some willpower on his part to let her go again quickly.

"Long time no see. I can;t say it's not all together unimaginably to run into you at a place like this." After all they had met under similar circumstances the first time. He took a sip of the drink in his hands and nervously glanced around before setting his eyes back on her. What could they talk about. He knew he wanted to ask her where she had been. Why had she left? And most importantly, did she still care about him? "My aim has gotten better recently..." Talk about completely off topic and unrelated to absolutely anything he would ever talk to a girl about at a club.

Nothing about this was okay. Heidi could feel the nervous tension in his muscles when she threw her arm around him. It was clear neither of them had really expected to see the other again. Now, whether or not they had yearned to was a different story altogether. Although it was doubtful that either would ever admit to that fact. Heidi, for one, had enjoyed the years as a single woman - yes, they were lonely, but it was all she'd ever really known, and she couldn't not enjoy that. But she had always wondered what would have happened had she had the strength to stay with Jayden just one more day. Things could be entirely different.

Taking a deep breath, she decided not to dwell on that. 'What ifs' were never a good thing to dwell on. Instead, she decided to focus her attention on him. Jayden. But not too much attention. She laughed, inappropriately loudly at his weak joke. "Can't teach an old dog new tricks, you know that," she was almost tempted to pair the statement with a wink, but knew that would be too much. "Your aim?" she blinked for a second before realizing what he was talking about and laughed a bit in response. "You never have been really good with a gun, have you?" Heidi glanced away as she said that, feeling an odd stabbing in her heart discussing old times. Something about this didn't feel right.

Exhaling heavily, she looked around the bar, and asked, "Can I, uh, buy you a drink? I feel like I need another." Although Heidi Wahr was not a woman to blush, she could feel her face grown warm at the admittance that she was nervous and slightly uncomfortable. She glanced up at him, smiling weakly - it wasn't like he didn't feel the same. Knowing he wouldn't turn down a drink, she leaned over the bar and immediately ordered not one, not two, but four shots of Fireball. Nothing to calm a strange situation between two heavy drinkers like straight shots of whiskey.
