Dark shapes peered in from either side, drawn to the life-energy of the woman striding with such purpose that the sound of her heels was almost covered by the rub of uniform fabric. She looked neither right nor left, intent upon her destination and sure of her safety; the creatures guarding the entry to the Rift would not harm her without reason, which she would not give. She wasn't stupid - nor suicidal - enough for such things, though like many of the Chaos agents that had become as devoted she did often have destructive tendencies that had to be curbed sharply lest she go the route that would end with her needing to be put down like a rabid dog.

Captain Moonstone entered the Rift and let loose a mutli-tonal whistle meant as a specific call to her bonded youma among those that dwelt there. It took very little time before the massive feral obediently thundered up and began whuffing over her noisily. Wasgo wasn't quite a perfect analogue to an obedient dog, but it was hers...loyal and protective and always pleased to go out of the Rift with her. She might not have come specifically to visit with the youma, but she was uncertain when the half-youma officer would appear, so it was at the very least a pleasant means of waiting.

"Sánuu dáng gíidang, Wasgo?" She murmured, running her hands along the beasts jaw, scratching lightly as it rumbled appreciatively.

Cinnabar. Known only by word of mouth and recommendation, but Moonstone would take such things where she got them. Few of their number had either time or inclination to devote time to sparring with her and as fun as it was to abuse senshi...they just weren't lining up to fall under her fists. It was always nice to find another officer with interest in bettering their skills and Moonstone wanted the distraction. If they were able to improve together, or even if one of them got something out of this, then it was so much the better, wasn't it?

It was hard to find proper sparring partners since her merge. Unable to power down meant she couldn't just go to a gym and find some lunkhead to take on. Officers were only rarely proficient, trained fighters, so it was hard to find someone among their ranks she could fully stretch herself with... but a willing body was better than nothing. She couldn't monopolize Schörl's time just to get her regular training in, so the blonde had suggested someone she knew as an alternative. They both needed training and Cinnabar needed to expand her network of contacts. Win win, right?

Fingers hooked into the belt around her waist, the half youma paced through the doorway into the Rift one hip at a time, the scaled length of her tail swishing behind her. The Rift was not typically her first choice of venue, but it had become a bit uncomfortably more comfortable over the last few months. Not surprising... it probably called to Baal quite strongly, for being his former home. She wanted to hate the looming crystals and vaulted ceilings, the oppressive darkness and dust... but it made her feel at ease.

There was the sound of wuffling and a low voice reached an elfin ear and drew her attention, silver heels taking a sharp turn to orient on the new direction and thumping sharply against the stone as her pace picked up.

"Captain Moonstone!" Cinnabar called as she approached, coming in sight of a dark haired woman with distinctively native features. The half-youma's steps slowed at the youma that fawned on her and red eyes narrowed. It was the Rift, it wasn't surprising that there would be youma about, but made her stomach clench and hunger ramp up, seeing it there. In her head, a lazy white eye open and the rumble of a growl sounded silently. Trying to ignore the captain's personal youma was going to be a trial, but Cin told herself it would be good training for her... as long as the youma didn't decide to take offense to her like so many others. Word got around that she ate youma and none of them wanted to play with her any more...

Cinnabar's arrival caused the tri-coloured youma to go still as it scented the strange blend of human and youma and heard the sharp clacking of heels to stone, but it didn't growl. Moonstone wasn't in any immediate danger and quite honestly, Wasgo wasn't going to fight with something that it didn't have to. It was feeling quite lazy with all the petting it was getting from the Haida girl at it's side.

Moonstone turned her head to take in the half-youma curiously, was this bright-eyed woman Cinnabar? Or some other youma-human fusion in snappy heels and swishing tail? "Captain Cinnabar." She nodded and lifted one hand to wave, the other resting solidly on Wasgo's lowered head. "Tii hláa." The command was spoken in a tone that spoke of an unwavering surety that it would be obeyed, Moonstone wasn't even watching to see if her youma was going to resist, she was far more interested in the tall, scaled woman coming their way.

Wasgo shook it's massive head but obeyed, settling itself down and warily watching the other captain. It knew - of course it knew - that this creature devoured it's own kind...but it also knew - or believed - that being devoured wasn't on the table. Moonstone wouldn't allow it. There was no danger, so it obeyed the Mistress.

"Thank you for agreeing to meet with me." Courtesy extended for a peer, never-mind one that Cinnabar was someone Schörl spoke highly of.

The captain inclined her head as she was greeted by name, her steps picking up again with a cocky little strut and a grin to match. It exposed her fangs, something she shared with the monster they stood with.

"Its not a problem... I need the practice and if I get to make friends with a pretty woman, well. Bonus." She chuckled as she swung around to the side, putting Moonstone between her and the youma. It still put the thing in view, but it was slightly less tempting with a buffer... a buffer that would not take kindly to her making any attempt on her youma, no doubt.

She'd only tried to go for Barbary once... but Schörl hadn't been around then. Absently, she wondered how the General would have felt about it... her views of the world were so strange sometimes, it was hard to really guess. A delicious little puzzle.

Chains rattled around her shoulders as she stretched her arms up and laced her fingers behind her head with lazy ease, emphasizing her height (and her bust) with the motion.

"Was it just training you were looking for from me, Captain?" She said as she tilted her head to the side in consideration before she smiled again. "I'm good for a great many things, only a small portion of them sparring and training."

It was hard to resist the urge to give Moonstone a full, suggestive once over with her eyes, but she managed to settle for drawing her lower lip between her teeth in a playful scrape.

Once acknowledged, the half-youma captain seemed to augment her movements to something even more purposeful and even a bit slinky. Moonstone approved, dark eyes taking in the display being put on for her benefit - at least she assumed it was for her benefit, since it was fairly unlikely that Cinnabar was being flirty with Wasgo. "I couldn't agree more." That the tailed woman angled herself to keep Moonstone's youma separated was not lost on the observant captain and she cocked her head to the left; should she offer to send Wasgo away? 'If she wanted it gone, she would ask. I've no doubt that Cinnabar is willing to make her wants known.'

"Training and sparring are an important reason behind seeking your assistance, but-" Dark eyes flicked appreciatively over the half-youma's features though she maintained as respectful an air as possible doing it. "I am open to any instruction or wisdom you're willing to share." Flirting was not her strong point, at all, but she knew when she was being flirted with - it was flattering as hell. "More than open. Interested." Though perhaps not in the Rift? Things could get kind of...strange in the Rift, especially with her bonded youma right there.

Dark eyebrows rose and Cinnabar's grin widened, confident and inviting. It seemed interest had been established on both ends... wonderful. There was always that chance that her new features might turn off a potential partner. Seeing her charms still worked as a boost of confidence every time it happened.

Stepping back with a rattle of her chains, she extended a hand between them palm up and beckoned with her fingers.

"We can talk some more a bit later then, hmm? I have a room in the citadel that's nice and comfortable. For now, why don't we get started with some training? Do you need to stretch out first, or are you already... warmed up?" She said as she took the opportunity to shrug her heavy leather coat off bare shoulders. She tossed it casually to the side and it landed with a thump and rattle of chain.

The loss of its weight put a new lightness into her steps as she put a comfortable distance for sparring between them and she began to roll her shoulders, stretching out her arms to loosen up the muscles.

"I want to see what you already know, so we don't go over anything you've learned in the past. Or see if maybe there are some bad habits you've learned we should work out of your system." The half-youma settled into a ready stance, her feet apart and her hands up defensively. The pose was second nature now, well trained from years of practice.

Predatory. That's what Cinnabar's smile was - a similar configuration of teeth and lips that was as familiar to Moonstone as breathing. Still, the half-youma was definitely more of a predator than she, clear from the scales and claws, the lashing tail and pointed ears. Which was why the Haida woman found it easy to go along with Cinnabar's leadership, even beyond what might be necessary for whatever training they were going to do.

"Yes." To talking later, to the room in the citadel, to refocusing on training up and even to being already warmed up. There was no need for the brown-clad Captain to take further time stretching, she was more interested in actually improving her skills for the Negaverse. And possibly watching Cinnabar move around for a bit, because she was fascinating and exotic as hell (the way people like to try telling her she was, thanks to her heritage and all that). "I'm ready."

Wasgo lifted it's head and snuffed when the heavy coat hit the ground but merely chuffed and resettled; Mistress was fine. She was stretching her arms above her head and loosening the muscles between her shoulders similar to the half-youma. Cinnabar's stance set Moonstone's pulse speeding in anticipation and she dropped low and started circling, her weapon appearing in one hand like an old friend.

Maybe she shouldn't have summoned her weapon, but Cinnabar wanted to see what she could do, so Moonstone was going to show her. Violently and all over the place and with a happy snarl that said way more about the state of her mind than was healthy. She was vicious and relentless and refused to back down no matter how much she got thrown or bashed in return, if anything, things like that only made the Captain more intent on her attacks.

The sound of the youma shifting was a distraction, pulling Cinnabar's attention away from her partner for the night. She pulled it back quickly, but not without a bit of discomfort. It was going to be a distraction the entire time, she had no doubt, but she would have to see it as practice. A challenge to overcome.

The Captain eyed the other's weapon, but made no demands regarding it. After all, a flex of her hands displayed her own weapons, attached to the ends of her fingers. It was only fair that Moonstone be able to use hers.

The pair came together in a flurry, starting off hot. Moonstone had a lot of fire and passion, but she lacked control. It could be overwhelming to the right opponent, but against someone who knew what they were doing, they could be brushed aside or evaded, rendering them less than successful.

Cinnabar let fists and weapon glance off her arms and shoulders, protecting her face and her core with more interest in seeing what Moonstone could do than in striking back. She threw a couple of punches herself, testing reactions and innovation. She was not Schörl, but was was adept at her own style of fighting. It was fun, even, and her smile spread wide over her face as they danced across the floor of the rift to the scuff and slap of boots.

When they reached what felt like a good stopping point, Cinnabar jumped back to put space between them and lifted her hands, palm out.

"That was good!" She said with warmth. Her tail swung lightly back and forth as she shook out her hands, easing the tension in her wrists. "You've got a good start. We just need to give you a little more control and focus. If you just throw yourself at someone, you're s**t out of luck if they sidestep out of the way. Come on... aim for me this time, but hold your mind back a little. Anticipate how I'm going to react to it, and plan for how you'll meet me. Get a jump on your opponent and you can throw their whole method into disarray."

Oh, Wasgo was definitely going to prove to be a distraction, but as Cinnabar noted herself, it would be a good bit of practice to work on ignoring the other Captain's youma. Especially since she wasn't allowed to eat other officer's "pets"...no matter how delicious they might look or smell.

It became rapidly apparent that Cinnabar had a lot more control than Moonstone and while having her violent but unschooled attacks blocked, turned aside or negated over and over set her temper flaring. The leather-clad captain did her best to keep focused on the idea that this was just a sparring match meant to help the half-youma captain figure out how best to help her further her skills, but it was difficult to not lose herself in battle-lust.

Thankfully being angry didn't make her any sloppier, so when Cinnabar tossed punches her way the brunette was able to block or evade if she wasn't willing to take the hit in an attempt to land one of her own. Sparring with the other captain really was fun; more so when Moonstone wasn't totally focused on bashing her opponent's skull in. It was kind of like when she was out horseback riding...flashes of clarity and a sort of happiness or joy that seldom came to her these days.

Cinnabar's call to cease brought the panting, sweating brunette to a halt; weapon tipping down towards the scuffed ground as the dust from their motion settled. "It felt good." Moonstone's smile was bright even in the gloom and she pushed one arm under her hair, lifting it to cool the back of her neck while they were taking a short breather to discuss the finer points of combat.

She nodded at Cinnabar's words, committing the suggestions (corrections) to memory and finding the logic sound enough. With a nod and a spin of her totem-bat, Moonstone stepped forward as she'd been told and trying to keep her mind more distanced from the fight than usual. 'Think it through, attacking head-on...she could side-step to evade the swing. If I move with it and swing for where she could end up, there's a chance it'll connect...' From thought to action, Moonstone tried applying what she'd been told, eager for praise as much as for the solid thunk of flesh under her weapon.

Grinning, Cinnabar watched as Moonstone eased herself after their little spat of sparing. She rather enjoyed the view as she lifted her hair with her arm, but the only sign was a warming in her eyes as she shifted her weight from one hip to the other. Patience... she could have patience when she wanted to.

Shifting again, the half youma was ready when the other captain finally came at her. The bat whistled through the air and Cinnabar threw up an arm to catch it on her forearm below her wrist. Pain radiated up the limb with the solid thump of wood on flesh, but her smile never wavered and she brushed it aside as she danced out of the way. Cin's motions grew more fluid and concentrated now, and as Moonstone attacked her, she threw in her own counter attacks, aiming for the torso and arms with blows that would leave bruises if they were deflected.

"Good!" She laughed as they moved together, circling the area to the scuff of their feet and the thud of hits taken on both sides. "Harder! Don't be afraid to give it to me, I'm not going to break."

Spinning, Cinnabar threw a leg up in a chest high kick, leading with her heel as she turned.

Moonstone pressed forth, attacking Cinnabar with an expression somewhere between happiness and the wont for blood. If she'd ever been another way, she couldn't remember it now - not clearly. Sometimes in wisps and flashes, like the lightning that 're-calibrated' her brain and shot her memory full of holes and cracks.

She didn't mind so much. She was Moonstone, obedient and loyal Captain of the Negaverse - an agent of Chaos, dedicated to her work as a walking weapon. Sparring with Cinnabar, learning from the half-youma, was just another means of furthering her skill-set...and if she could have some fun with it? All the better.

When Cinnabar started countering, the dark-haired Haida woman threw herself into attacking, dodging and deflecting with all she had. Cinnabar was not weak, she could take what Moonstone wanted to dish out. "Yes!" She hissed through grit teeth as one of the half-youma's blows was barely blocked - a high kick that sent her sliding in the opposite direction, heels digging into the shale of the Rift for purchase. Wasgo whined and started to rise but a sharp word - again in a strange language - kept the youma settled. "As you wish." Moonstone's eyes glittered as she surged forward again, sometimes trading her own body's safety and taking one of Cinnabar's heavy strikes for the sake of landing her own blow with totem bat, fist or heel.

The longer they moved, the better she understood the dance. Cinnabar led, she followed - flowing from attack to defense and back, leaping and spinning and sometimes just diving in head-on as was her wont. Moonstone would be covered in bruises, might even have hairline fractures, dislocations, and lacerations...but she didn't care. With her blood singing, she could no more resist the urge to fight than she could have resisted the summons of Chaos. Glorious.

By the time Cinnabar called a halt with a hand raised up between them, she was breathing heavily and her eyes were wide and staring, her expression wild and faintly inhuman. Inside her mind, she could hear Baal chuffing and snarling with her excitement, moving restlessly. She tightened her grip on him, banishing him to the recesses of her mind where he was normally caged. This was not the time to let him loose, if there ever was such a time.

"Good! That was good." She laughed as she backed away, giving Moonstone some space so the half-youma could bring herself and her youma back under control. "That felt really good."

Turning, Cinnabar ran her fingers back through her hair, smoothing fly-aways into her ponytail before working knots out of the tail itself. It helped ground her, but her smile never left throughout her decompression. She stretched her arms up over her head to arch her spine before she lowered and swung them, twisting her torso until muscles tensed from sparing loosened up.

"You did well. I actually enjoyed that a lot." The tall woman laughed as she gave her partner a heavy-lidded look over her shoulder. Her tail swung lazily back and forth, brushing the backs of her legs. "Its nice to spar on occasion, rather than just beat on a bag. I'm glad we got together and I hope you got some good use out of this too. If you're not ready to go home just yet... My room isn't far and I have some decent things stocked, if you'd like a drink."

The invitation worked on many levels... It all depend on how deeply Moonstone wanted to read into it. However much she was willing to accept, Cin found she really wanted to get to know this woman better. There was always something attractive about someone you could tussle with. Fighting so often could be carried over into other pleasurable things.
