Sriina was more than happy the past few days. After talking to Amari, she felt like she couldn't concentrate on anything. She was going to travel with her best friend. She was going to leave Matori and leave her parents behind. Not like she never wanted to see them again, but she needed space, and needed them to let go and not be so overbearing. Not that she had told her mother that she was leaving yet... she would need to face that soon though. Amari was waiting for her before they set a day to leave.
She was procrastinating more than just a little though, and was in the market instead, looking for meats and veggies to bring home for lunch.

Ashta wasn't entirely sure what he was going to do about his brother, after discovering the whereabouts of Kyruie's old master and then not being able to lay a finger on him he had felt discouraged, antsy and down right miserable. It didn't help either that he had stumbeled upon his brother and their charge pretty much making out. Ashta was mildly disgusted by the scene but he had to keep it secret from their parents else ...all of the underworld would break loose.
Knowing that their parents were against homosexuals, and blaming Kyruie's last seven years of life in his complete and utter disinterest in women, Ashta now wondered if Kyruie would ever look at women the same way he was looking at Tera. Sighing he rubbed his face, he found himself wandering through the market place trying to get his mind off of it. What he was going to do with his brother? He had to keep him out of trouble and keep a firmly grip on his brothers...weakness's.
Right now he was going around and trying to figure out where his brother was finding the vendors who were fulling his addiction. Figuring that he was probably lying outright to them or worse..stealing from them he had to make them aware. Backing up he was trying to see if he could see any other medicinal stalls and he bumped into someone. Turning he glowered even if it was his fault and his expression faltered as his gaze landed on a young woman who looked...very familar.
"Sorry.." He gruffed out the words, though as he was about to turn away that nagging feeling in the back of his head that he DID know this young woman nagged him to turn to look at her again. "I ...am sorry..but you seem really familar...do I know you?"

Sriina hadn’t had much time to stop and look at the vendor’s produce before she felt something large hit her from the side and she stumbled in surprise. “Oh!” escaped her throat while she steadied herself. Others should be watching where they were going, she thought to herself as her previously happy face faltered into a grimace. She turned to the deep voice apologizing to her and nodded her head before turning back to her own business. Until he continued to talk.
Sriina tilted her head to the side, looking the older boy over from top to bottom trying to see if he was serious about knowing her from somewhere. But… he didn’t really ring any bells. “I… I don’t think so.” Her confusion showed on her face. Was he just trying to flirt with her? There were plenty of other ways to go about it than to pretend to know her.

There were times when he wondered if he was going crazy. Ashta squinted at the young woman in front of him and though she declined knowing him he couldn't help but...feel that he DID know her. But from where? It wasn't anything recent, that much was sure. He had been too busy training Kyruie and himself to really worry about women. Maybe ...he was mistaken?
"Sorry.." He apologized again though he didn't seem too keen on just leaving, even as he half turned away his brain was still firing on all cylinders trying to place her face. It wasn't until he had started off that it clicked. Although a faint memory of a young girl they used to be enslaved together..
"Wait!" Ashta nearly shouted, drawing many curious glances in his direction as he whirled back around to try and spot the young woman again.

Sriina nodded her head curtly as he apologized and left, returning to looking through the stalls; only to sigh once more when he called out to her from the crowd. She shook her head and turned to face him, her hands on her hips. "I'm sorry. Is there something wrong? Did I do something to offend you?" She stated, not quite sure why he wouldn't just leave her alone, though her voice was flat rather than irritated.
The more she looked at him though the more she started to think that maybe she did know him from somewhere. But that was next to impossible. She had been a slave her entire life. When would she have ever met a man like him? She pursed her lips, trying to decide whether he was crazy or she was just plain stupid, still waiting for his response -- whatever it may be.

Ashta was relieved to see that she hadn't gotten far, in fact she had just returned to her chores for the day. Pushing through people apologizing when needed he approached her and tilted his head again to give her one more once over.
"...Siirna? Is it really you?" He began wondering and hoping that this was her, cause if it wasn't it would just be embarrassing other wise. Of course if it was her she may just think he was some weird stalker or worse.
"I don't think you'd remember me, but we use to work on a slavers farm for awhile...its Ashta...my brother was there too ..we use to play together when we ..had the time to."

Ashta... she though back trying to recognize the name. He knew hers, that was for sure, so they must have met before. She thought to when she was on the farm. She had been a child back then, so he had also been young. She thought back and the two little boys came back into her head from all that time ago.
"Oh." She tilted her head to the side and her face lost its grim demeanor. "I remember now. Kyruie is your brother, right?" She brightened up, now able to put the faces to the people and names. "How've you been?" She smiled up at the now tall man, rather than the small slightly older boy.

Elated that she remember him he couldn't help but offer her an awkward smile, honestly it had been so long he wasn't entirely sure why he had been possessed to stop her and reunite with a child from his past. Probably because when he was younger he had a crush on the girl and had been devastated when her family had been taken away to another slavers home.
"Yeah...that's right." He wasn't too sure he was thrilled she remembered his brother but it would make sense that she would. They did all play together. Maybe he should bring her around to help Ky...
When the subject came to how he had been lately his face must of betrayed how he really felt. His shoulders tensed and he sighed, "Its...been trying. Do you have anything to do right now? Perhaps we can catch up?"

Sriina watched his face tense and his demeanor change from elated to... grim? Irritated? Generally unhappy? It was hard to read him, but she dropped her smile slightly, feeling the tension in the air. Sriina nodded her head and put back the vegetable she was previously inspecting from the stand. "I can come back to this later." She said with a smile.
"Where do you want to go?" She held out her arm, encompassing the whole of the market. If he wanted to sit somewhere, she knew of a little cafe not too far from there. Perhaps that would work?

Misinterpreting what she was doing with her arm, he thought she was offering it for him to take. A faint blush crept across his face and he took her arm with his like a proper gentleman should (although he felt far from one). "Did..you want to come to my home? My family is out right now, and my brother should be training...perhaps it would be ...quieter..there.." he trailed off feeling the tips of his fin ears getting red from his embarrassment.
A couple older woman gave a tittering of laughter as they saw the pair and he quickly led Siirna away from them. He didn't want to rush Siirna but he wasn't so use to public displays of affection.
"Ah....sorry..am I moving too fast?" He inquired trying to shorten his strides he didn't want to drag her along.

She could feel the blush encroaching onto her face as he took her arm in his and led her away. Oh... alright. The older women tittering didn't help her look of embarrassment, but she tried to keep it to herself as he led her away from the market.
Her face turned deep deep crimson with his next words. His house... no one would be there... moving too fast? She was ready to jump out of his skin. What exactly did this guy want? She barely knew him! She tried to breath evenly and calm herself down. This wasn't going well at all.
They had almost reached his house when she finally spoke up. "Ashta... I appreciate that would want to get to know me... better... but isn't this too much too soon? Did I do something to make you think this?" Her face turned ever brighter blushed and she had to turn her head down to avoid his look.

Ashta nearly tripped over his own two feet as she spoke in a rather stressed manner, she seemed to be scared and as he looked down at her he spotted her rather apprehensive look on her face. Just what was she thinking he was going to do to her? It took several moments before it clicked and he hastily dropped her arm, turning to face her a look of utter horror on his face.
"No no no! That..is..not.." He felt like such an idiot, he wasn't good with words in fact his life had been up till now just him trying to survive and now he had to be the hard a** to get his brother to behave. It didn't lead to him having a very pleasant vocabulary or pleasant way of talking.
"I just want to ..talk." Ashta reconfirmed with a nod of his head as he looked her in the eyes.

Sriina visibly calmed down, her shoulders relaxing and her face starting to return to its normal color. "Ahhh..." She fumbled around for words and couldn't quite come up with anything. Of all the times to jump to conclusions and she picked a time she was absolutely and horrible wrong.
She tried to go back over what had been said and to see where she might have been wrong. Now she felt like a pervert. She sighed. "Oh. Um... yes. Talk. I'm... I'm sorry." She tried to force a laugh, but it was a sad excuse for changing the mood around them.
"Um... well... we should go in, yes?" She tilted her head in a sigh. It would be hard to bounce back from that fiasco.

It felt really awkward now, his childhood friend though he had brought her home for one thing..and that was sex. He could of died in shame and embarrassment. Luckily she looked just as embarrassed as he did at the confusion and the obvious jump in conclusion.
"Ah..yeah..." He managed gruffly as he went to open the door to his home. It was a small house, that could barely fit four people as it was. Ashta and Kyruie shared one bed room (for better or for worse) and his parents the other. The living room was connected to the kitchen and he moved inside briskly to put a bit of distance between himself and Siirna. "Did you want something to drink?" He managed though wondered if she would think he was trying to get her drunk and quickly added, "You know, juice?"

Sriina moved into the living area of the home, just inside the doorway and looked around. It really was quite small. Sriina's home wasn't much larger, but there were only 3 people living there. And it was two floors. It was comfortable. But this house had it's own cluttered charm to it she supposed. She watched Ashta walk to the kitchen and offer her drink. She didn't think she could be any more embarrassed, he felt he had to clarify that it was juice. She bit into her lip, "Juice would be nice." Was all she could manage.
Though the longer she looked at Ashta, along with her previous thoughts mixed in, the more she didn't really want to look away. She could see the muscles from his training, and felt a flutter of something in her stomach though she wasn't quite sure what. Trying to shake the feeling, she walked further into the home and tried to look comfortable at least. "So... what have you been up to?" She was terrible at small talk, but this seemed like a good start, right?
